And they would have sold 3 million in Japan if they would have had the units to sell and that includes the 2.2 million people that signed up for pre-orders at Nintendo of Japan. But they didn't.
Makes me wonder what the production rate is right now because I thought they were producing since December and figured we would have 7 million available globally June 5th.
But we got half that. Which suggests 500,000 per month.
That backfill is going to be really tough until they ramp up.
Best feature of the new era in my opinion. Although I'm trying to by a second Switch 2 for the kids, this feature is what allowed me to say I can buy the Switch 2 for me and give the kids the Switch 1 so we can play games together across 2 seperate consoles.
I understand what the intention was, it was to keep the game balanced and make it so that if you replayed an area, you weren't in God mode, which is a snooze-fest. An appropriate level of tension needs to be maintained in a game in order to keep a players interest, but at the same time players dont like frustrating stupid stuff. It was a good attempt but it either needs to be tweaked or there needs to be another way of maintaining that tension
@johnvboy Mobile tech is always going to lag behind fixed / console tech. I wonder if they have telemetry on who exactly plays what, where, and how. I get that Japan is probably mostly portable. If they pulled my data, they would be like .. hey, THAT guy plays docked 99% of the time and generally ONLY plays Nintendo published titles, with a few exceptions.
@Mando44646 But if they made a console as powerful as the PS5 or Xbox, why wouldn't you play your 3rd party games on the Nintendo? I am absolutely bored to tears with my Xbox. The only games I truly enjoy are Nintendo published games. First Person Shooter games and consoles and me do not get along well at all, I'd rather play them on a PC. Even games like Dragon Quest Builders, which I loved, are better on the Xbox.
All I know is whatever I want Nintendo to do ... they won't do it
Yes, its an accomplishment .. but not too sure why this is a shock. Not much is pre-rendered these days anymore. So this is just simply a matter of having the engine capable of doing this on the fly .. like having the "cut scenes" render according to what gear you have equipped.
Nice attempt at a bluff. Maybe you only took entry level marketing classes, maybe you took none. I'm guessing the latter. Fact is everything I said was 100% accurate. Besides this is a business law argument, not marketing. Marketing LOVES to have the company and the product embedded firmly in the customer's mind. That's what they do! Do you think the legal department writes ads?
Fact is Bayer losing "aspirin" copyright had NOTHING to do with it being part of the common vocabulary. Nice try.
Although I do like the spirit of that idea. That would be case of true democracy in action. The people decided without even using elected representatives, that aspirin belonged to the people.
Unfortunately the law doesn't work that way. Now, if a COMPANY started using the word Nintendo without it being challenged, then it would be possible for it to be legally challenged in court. Theres no case if the people just made it part of their vocabulary. That happens a lot in slang today. Who would bring the case?
The government certainly cannot make the people cease using a word like that.
It is as I stated. A ridiculous marketing ploy, and they can't possibly be serious. Its cute, but lame at the same time.
Its just a poor attempt at a Marketing Exec to be witty. Truth is having your brand become part of the vocabulary is an honor and a blessing, and really cheap and effective advertising. Its pretty much the original meme.
Aspirin Coke Xerox
Are ALL trade names yet were and are still used in some places today, although saying "I'm going to go Xerox this" has fallen quite a bit out of favor over the last 30 years.
@YusseiWarrior3000 Yea, I always loved the N64 controller. Call me crazy but it seems it was built for left handed people, and I'm left handed. I have a hard time adapting to other brands controllers, but Nintendo always seems to get it for me.
Now we just need Goldeneye. Whatever millions of dollars they have to pay to get that on NSO, they need to do it.
@DoubleDate I loved the game but definitely Xenoblade 1 is better. It would be perfect if DE had been better optimized for the Switch in docked mode. The arts tray is seriously annoying. XC2 had MUCH better controls that were more fun in the hands. Never played XCX, wish they would release on the Switch. I've put way more hours into XC1 than BoTW by far and I maxed out finished BoTW. Well except for hardcore mode.

@Mando44646 That's an assumption.

Re: Nintendo Provides A Look At Switch's Games Line-Up For 2023
How are we supposed to have a Zelda game as a launch title for the new Switch if they take 5+ years to develop?
Oh yea ...
Re: Rumour: Switch Pro Was Real But Got Cancelled, Claims Digital Foundry
I honestly don't know why this is so hard to figure out.
What we want a console as powerful as an Xbox Series X, with Nintendo games on it.
Re: Soapbox: Xenoblade Chronicles X's Influence Is Bigger Than You Think
Yea, can I please have it on Switch? Thank you.
I never got to play it.
Re: Miyamoto Unsurprisingly Reckons The Super Mario Movie Will Be Pretty Good
I reckon Pikmin 4 will be pretty good too =)

Shiggy doesn't have a shrine?
Re: Reggie Shares Thoughts On How Nintendo Can Prepare For The Switch's Successor
The Switch needs to turn into the controller, and the Dock needs to become the Series X.
