Re: Upcoming Nintendo Switch Games And Accessories For July And August 2023

Dustmite72

I pre-ordered Pikmin 4 when it was announced, but that's the only game on this list that I'm getting. I've also already pre-ordered both of the Mario games that were announced in the latest direct, but I'm saving up for some others like the Wario Ware game, and the new Sonic game. I needed the slow period for my wallet to recover.

Re: Best Of 2022: Which Is The Absolute Best Nintendo Console Generation?

Dustmite72

SNES was the last Nintendo console that if you owned nothing else, you'd still be happy. Every console since then, you'd have to have a Sony/Microsoft console for the newest and bestest games... and then a Nintendo console for Mario/Zelda etc. With that being said, SNES is the best console, hands down. Switch is a close second, and while it's still quite under powered, (and you need a Sony/MS/PC for a full gaming library), you can't compete with the breadth of games that are on the Switch.

The Assassin's Creed 2 trilogy is where I fell in love with the series. It's also easy to find them on current gen systems for cheap. Since I have the whole collection on Xbox, I wouldn't mind an updated AC1, possibly making the flags easier to find, etc. I'm an adult now, I don't have time to spend 200 hours hunting those little jerks down.

Re: Review: Super Animal Royale - Fortnite X Animal Crossing + Skunk Gas = What's Not To Like?

I'm level 275... I've put in 300 hours on the PC version. It's a great game, and a lot of the toxicity is blunted by the fact that online chat is only enabled by proximity, and you're only near people when the game is loading. The rest of the time, you're in team chat and only talking to your group. I've spent a decent amount of money, and don't regret it. I still play pretty regularly. Highly recommend the game.

Re: Community: What Was Your First Ever Nintendo Game?

Dustmite72

My dad bought a NES bundled with Mario/Duck Hunt and World Class Track Meet back in 1988 when I was 5. I could have sworn it was earlier than that, but release dates don't lie. He also bought MLB baseball with it. Zelda and Punchout came shortly there after. GB (Tetris and Mario Land) was Christmas 1990 (also remember getting Metroid for NES that year), SNES was July 1991. N64 was release day with my own money (paper route, also bought Mario 64 and Pilotwings 64 same time). I think the first game I bought with allowance money was Final Fantasy back in 1990. Scary how much you can remember.

Re: Microsoft Was Simply Exploring "Every Angle" When It Approached Nintendo About A Buyout

Dustmite72

@NathanTheAsian You do realize that Microsoft also owns Windows 10... right? It's dumb to introduce competition between your own company, especially when they can make each game work on either platform. The fact that they don't have "Console" exclusives doesn't mean they don't make exclusive games, it just means that PS5 and Nintendo Switch owners can play the games without buying hardware that is either priced to lose money, or at best break even. In a 4 pronged war for our Gaming dollar, MS has firm ground on two of the four fronts. That's what I'd call ingenious.

Re: The Jackbox Party Pack 1 & 2 Are Coming to Nintendo Switch

@WaxxyOne I did the same thing, even going as far as to buy a laptop so I can easily take it to friends houses for game night. While I love my Switch, I think that having it on PC is an equally good platform. The laptop doesn't need a TV, but can use one, just like the Switch, so to each their own.
