I understand that goomba fallacy exists, but it really feels like Nintendo is damned if they do damned if they don't. Like how many negative comments would we be getting if they didn't include a voice chat?
AI generation at its worst takes payment away from artists that deserve it, and at the same time stealing from those same artists to make something "new"
@orbots So then the game key card is better than buying a game digitally then? Because if you were able to like, buy a game key card of a digital-only 3DS game, you would still be able to download that still. Also I fail to see how this doesn't work in the modern day because there are like, loads of games that need day one patches cartridge or not.
@Anti-Matter >Collector So you just eventually want to sell your games right? Are you buying games because they'll go up in value one day or because you actually want to play them? Because sure, if you want to come here and say that you want to play it on PS5 because you can sell the disc 15 years from now for 14 bucks then sure that's actually a good reason instead of going "GAME KEY CARD BADD!!! ITS JUST BAD"
Oh no the digital store will go down in 20+ years! Definitely nothing at all will happen to your cartridges though, it's not like they'll be lost with the system if you ever lose it, or burned with your house or eaten by a dog, or stolen or the flash chips will fail like sealed 3ds games have been.
Honestly Im just tired of this being a huge grandstand by the community, that you all are "better" than everyone buying them digitally because you bought a tiny piece of plastic and gold with data on it.
This is partially goomba fallacy on me, but it feels like a year and a half ago everyone were practically screaming that the switch 2 needs system level voice chat. It was one of the most requested features of the original switch right behind themes for the os. Now most of the comments here don't care about it one bit.
I like the little sound wave button, 1st column 4th row.
@MrGawain I agree, I think that's a lot of the reasoning behind this decision, they want games that actually use the hardware of the Switch 2, when any of these shovelware games barely use the power of the Switch 1.
This was actually one of the highest on my list of switch 2 upgrades ever since mouse mode was announced. Now I wait for Terraria and Minecraft to get updated
This update at least makes me now positive about fallout 4 on switch 2, but I obviously am still going to wait for the reviews and probably a sale for that
I would get either the virtual boy headset or an entirely new headset if they gave the rest of the online apps a full virtual screen experience. With the power of the switch 2, they could maybe even figure out how to get all switch 1 games to work on a large in-headset virtual display.
Switch emulation is the same in my head as AI generation: Uses extra electricity for something that could be done with less powerful hardware Steals from artists People that support it always yell how much better it is
Though this is apparently a huge shame that Nintendo has done this, but the story from a few weeks ago had people begging them to use their legal power.
if you couldn't get this, 8bitdo made a mod kit to replace the board of an original. It's pretty good and probably what I'll be using for Gamecube on the Switch 2. It has clickable sticks and it lets you reuse the shell of a broken gamecube controller if you have one, and you can have different colors! It doesn't have a normal usb c charging port and obviously no Game Chat button though.
I want the Mario Party games! Especially if they could get the switch mic to work with 6 and 7!
Hopefully if they do put Melee on it they really make sure it's working right. But knowing everything it'll probably be like Ocarina on Switch Online where to a layman like me it felt fine, but to a Speed runner who has played 5 hours of the game nearly every day for multiple years it felt bad.
Not saying that people complaining isn't justified for how much the service costs, it's just tiring with everyone saying the same thing over and over again.
When it comes to value arguments and how everyone should just buy the steam deck, people leave out how much a library of games could cost.
What I mean is I already am well invested into the switch library, more than my steam library. Yes I could get those games for cheap during a sale, but it would still require buying the games again. Also a lot of games I do own have problems and would require a purchase of a newer version on steam. Two I can think of are burnout paradise and Star Wars battlefront 1&2.
Minecraft bedrock will also never come to Steam Deck, and i do not want to wait for Java controller mods to have to update to new versions.
@Idontfare calm down about the dock man, is it really so serious you have to call it a piece of trash?
I did the math, and if all of these games cost what they would on virtual console, based on the prices from Wii U eShop, it's over $2000. This could buy you and 7 other people a family expansion pass for 25 years.
The values I used are : Gameboy and NES for $5 SNES and GBA for $8 N64 for $10 And GameCube for $15

So just piracy and romhacks then, right?
Re: Epic Mickey: Rebrushed Joins A Trio Of THQ Nordic Titles Getting The Switch 2 Treatment
@Anti-Matter Forever is subjective.
That was my original comment's point.
Have fun with your shelves.

Mario Maker 2 mouse mode? It seems like it should be one of the first games to use the feature.
