Re: Super Mario RPG Released in Japan Today

Danieru_Lynx

@ Rexy: Haha! Apologies. Meant nothing by it. I live in Lancaster, and seem to be the only person on the Internet who lives within a million miles of it, so I tend to become rather intrigued when I discover someone who lives even remotely close. Pay me no heed.

Anyway, back on-topic...

2 hours and 28 minutes, :3

Re: XD

It's just a laughing face on its side. Although I don't keep strictly to it, I rank it above 'lol' (although, to be honest, I'm very rarely actually laughing when I use either).

I'm concerned, what with all the 'fanboy' hate going around, that I'm being categorised as such, ^^;;

For the record, I'll quite happily survive if SMRPG doesn't appear. I hope, I don't expect. After all, as I've stated a little further up, and as should be common knowledge for all Britons here, I'll have Brawl to console me, :3

Regardless of what shows up, thar be 4 hours and 36 minutes to go (as, according to Wikipedia, the Wii Shop Channel is updated at 1am during DST, which I believe it currently is).

EDIT - BTW, out of interest, what with there being many British people here, do any of you just so happen to live in the North West? No-one on the Internet seems to, >.>

... mentioning the time made me think of Majora's Mask. I love Majora's Mask. I may indulge in a few hours, <3

Re: Super Mario RPG Released in Japan Today

Danieru_Lynx

@ Pj: Personally, as much of a shame as it will be if it doesn't appear tonight, I won't be too devastated, as I've arranged to meet a friend of mine at Gamestation at 8 in the morning to pick up Brawl and marathon it the entire day, XD

Speaking of which, I believe Rexy made the point regarding the timing. SMRPG and Brawl are both capable of pulling a huge crowd, yet releasing them both on the same day would divide potential buyers between the two, and so each will only sell half as much as they potentially could.

... at least, I think that works, XD

Anywho, it's not as though I want to ruin the high spirits or anything. After all, it's pretty damn obvious that I'd be incredibly happy if it were to appear tonight.

Ah well, only seven hours to go...

Re: Super Mario RPG Released in Japan Today

Danieru_Lynx

@ Rexy: Just because you're right, it doesn't mean that we want to believe you, XD

What's funny is that when midnight arrives and it doesn't appear, everyone's gonna' be like 'Well, I wasn't expecting it to appear anyway', XD

Re: Super Mario RPG Released in Japan Today

Danieru_Lynx

BTW, is there a Club Nintendo thingie for the Wii console itself? And if so, how many Star Points do you get?

I'm annoyed because the box for my Wii has disappeared all of a sudden and so I wanna' make sure that I'm not missing out on some massive stash of Star Points, XD

@ x.SuperMario.x: Do I detect one making fun of the frequent emboldening of what I say? XD

Re: Super Mario RPG Released in Japan Today

Danieru_Lynx

@ Pj: It's not so much a rumour as it is a possibility. Seeing as how the game has been rated by Australia's OFLC, coupled with the fact that most of Europe's and Australia's Virtual Console releases are synchronised due to the fact that we're both PAL regions, it could be released for the European Virtual Console at any time. Taking into account the fact that Nintendo seem to be alternating between WiiWare releases and Virtual Console releases for the European Virtual Console, if SMRPG doesn't appear tomorrow then methinks the next possibility won't be until two weeks from tomorrow, and so on.

Judging by the fact that the game's OFLC rating was issued so soon after we received confirmation that it would be released for the Japanese Virtual Console, I'd like to think that this will therefore mean that it will be released for the European Virtual Console just as soon after its Japanese Virtual Console release, which would imply a release date of tomorrow.

However, all of the above is merely educated (or at least I like to think so, lol) speculation. None of it is confirmed in any way, shape, or form.

I bought 2000 Wii Points yesterday. I spent 1000 of them on Pokémon Puzzle League, and am saving the other 1000 for SMRPG.

Fingers crossed for all you crazy Britons out there! I'll be seeing y'all in just under 24 hours when we'll all either be here sulking about how SMRPG wasn't released, or not here and therefore not commenting because we'll either be playing SMRPG or consoling ourselves by playing Brawl instead, XD

(Or, for those of you who are inclined in such a way, Final Fantasy Tactics A2: Grimoire of the Rift!)

Re: Super Mario RPG Released in Japan Today

Danieru_Lynx

@ Pj: The Hanabi Festival is a special period whereby games that were originally only ever released in Japan are released overseas for the Virtual Console. I believe it's annual, although I could be wrong.

I'm pretty sure that SMRPG won't be reserved for a Hanabi Festival, as it was released outside of Japan.

(Is downloading Pokémon Puzzle League as we speak.)

:3

See you in a month!

Re: EU VC Releases - 20th June - Epic Fail

Danieru_Lynx

@ Rexy: As much as I hope you're wrong due to me having already established myself as quite literally GAGGING for SMRPG, I have to agree with you fully. As big a title as Brawl is, Nintendo surely cannot be blind to the fact that releasing Earthbound and/or Super Mario RPG on the same day would magnetise a HUGE number of potential Brawlers. I mean, Hell, I simply cannot WAIT for Brawl, but were SMRPG to appear on the same day then I would GENUINELY be torn between the two. Besides, I can wait a little while longer. After all, Brawl is bound to keep me company for some time, and Final Fantasy Tactics A2 is due out that very same day, :3

My life needs sorting out anyway, and so I could do with as few distractions as possible for the time being, which is difficult due to me having just got Crisis Core, XD

Re: Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars

Danieru_Lynx

Nintendo of Japan's official Virtual Console page has listed a confirmed release date for Super Mario RPG of Tuesday the 24th of June 2008.

Source: http://www.nintendo.co.jp/wii/vc/lineup.html

This date goes without saying. The game's release was already confirmed for June 2008, and as Japan's Virtual Console releases are every Tuesday, and the 24th is the last Tuesday of this June, well, what more needs to be said?

I can only hope now that a European release will soon follow.

Re: EU VC Releases - 20th June - Epic Fail

Danieru_Lynx

'SMRPG won't happen until Europe gets a rating as well as Australia. At least, that's what it seems to be.'

The fact that Australia is a PAL region, just like us, coupled with the fact that most VC releases for Europe and Australia have been synchronised, means that I believe it DOES mean SMRPG will happen in Europe.

However, I'm not an expert on these matters. I could be wrong, but it makes sense to me, XD

Besides, wishful thinking never hurt anyone,

Re: EU VC Releases - 20th June - Epic Fail

Danieru_Lynx

I don't mind the idea of alternating weeks. That's fine by me. What sucked was me having gotten my hopes up for a VC release this morning due to the fact that I wasn't aware of how Nintendo might do this. If I'm to EXPECT a VC release every two weeks instead of just one then fair do's.

... still want SMRPG next Friday, >.>

@ Rexy (Thank you NoE for making me stay up until 2 in the morning and finding out this happens >.>):

Haha! Seconded!

Re: EU VC Releases - 20th June - Epic Fail

Danieru_Lynx

Nintendo are just taking the Michael.

They tease us with an OFLC rating for Super Mario RPG one Friday and then give us NOTHING the following Friday.

If I don't get my Super Mario RPG next week then there will be Hell to pay, >:3

Re: OFLC Update - Super Mario RPG On Its Way To Europe

Danieru_Lynx

Japan gets its VC games on a Tuesday, they didn't get SMRPG today, SMRPG's Japanese VC release has been confirmed for June, and there's only one Tuesday left (the 24th). Methinks we have ourselves a Japanese release date, =D

Let's just hope that the European release date is close by. Maybe Friday the 27th? That'd be awesome. Super Smash Bros. Brawl, Final Fantasy Tactics A2, and Super Mario RPG all on the same day, XD

Re: OFLC Update - Super Mario RPG On Its Way To Europe

Re: The above argument involving Rexy

Everyone is entitled to their own opinions. If Rexy doesn't like Super Mario RPG, then she is just as entitled to say so and why as everyone else is to say that they DO like it and why.

Personally, I absolutely adore the pants off of this game. I've only played a ROM in the past, and only very briefly because I'm not a fan of ROMs, but my God am I sold, XD

The above news is music to my ears, although it's a shame that it having been rated doesn't mean that it'll appear SOON, =/

I'll just have to hope that, what with it being due for Japan's VC at some point this month, that an EU release will be close by. I'll be checking every Friday! =P

Re: Japanese Virtual Console list - June 2008 (Super Mario RPG!)

Danieru_Lynx

I will buy the Wii Points I need to buy SMRPG the MOMENT it appears on the European Virtual Console, even if I have to sell my brother for medical research to afford it.

I've played a ROM of SMRPG (although I didn't get very far into the game due to me not being a fan of ROMs due to all the arsing around having to control the game using the bloody keyboard), and I absolutely ADORE it. I bought Paper Mario the MOMENT I saw it on the Wii Shop Channel, played it almost NON-STOP 'til I finished it, and now am playing The Thousand-Year Door after having found it in my local GAME last week for £20 (LEGENDARY find). The Mario RPGs are all just absolutely incredible, and I simply cannot wait until SMRPG hits the European Virtual Console.

EDIT - Wow. This site magically knows I'm from the UK. Spooky, o_o

(I know it's probably just finding me through my IP, =P)
