Re: Watch_Dogs Delayed Again on Wii U, Will Arrive on the System After Other Platforms

CharleSketch

@The_MARVEL_Mod If they're bothering on releasing a game on all platforms, all platforms should be equally focused. A good entertainer always gives a 5-star show whether it's for a crowd of 10 or 10,000. That applies to a game dev as well.

I was prepared to buy day one on PS3 when the game was first revealed. Then it got confirmed for Wii U and I signed up for day one buy on that; but now the hype has died and there's a lot I'm playing on my Wii U. Now, with this whole delay thing, I will have even more time to make sure the game is actually good before buying it.

If the Wii U version isn't a crippled version of the game and has good gamepad support (like it SHOULD be) I'll buy it. If not, I'm dropping ubisoft off my radar entirely.

Re: Lucario The Aura Warrior Returns To Battle In Super Smash Bros. 3DS & Wii U

CharleSketch

Wait, people like Mewtwo now? I thought nobody liked him. It's nice to see Lucario back. I wasn't sure about him when he was announced for Brawl but it was fun to play as, since he had Mewtwo's moveset but with the whole aura thing added; and, more importantly, without the constant struggle to float back to the platform. Mewtwo was way too floaty, and so easy to knock away. Unless they work Mewtwo into a completely different character, I don't see him coming back. And I'm not sure I'd even want him back.

Re: Matters of Import: E.X. Troopers Brings The Heat To 3DS

CharleSketch

Oh, man, this game. By mere chance I ended up downloading the demo for it on the Japanese PS Store and had so much fun with it I had to import it. Like someone said before, it's a pretty import-friendly game. Story missions are easy to figure out, so is the leveling up system for weapons; the only thing you'd miss out are the story details. Although, the final cutscene made me wish real bad that I understood what was going on; it was just so crazy awesome. Totally worth the import: really fun to play, and even more fun to watch if you're into anime.

Re: Club Nintendo Rewards Updated for January

CharleSketch

Aw, nuts. Like allav866 said, since they decided to delay the update for another day I thought we were in for a surprise but... eh. I may be tempted by 1080, but I don't think I'll give in. 200 coins for a bit of curiosity isn't worth it, I rather get Grill-Off for 80 coins.

Re: Review: EDGE (3DS eShop)

CharleSketch

I bought this last week and so far it's been pretty great. I'm liking it so much, I regret not double dipping and getting the Wii U version as well instead of getting Gunman Clive (a great disappointment). I felt the small level format was better for a handheld so I went for this version, but the Wii U version looks pretty gorgeous.

About the framerate, I'm on level 25 and I've had 1 or 2 times where it went down pretty bad, but other than that it's nice and smooth. Also, regarding the 3D, it's pretty good.. not bad but not great. I like it.

Re: Gunman Clive Sells Quarter Of A Million Copies Across All Formats, "Vast Majority" On 3DS

CharleSketch

Having completed the game a while ago I must say it's good for the price and... that's it. The character is way too floaty (probably a leftover from touchscreen controls), some enemies respawn randomly, and, despite the charming visual style, it does get boring to look at after a while. I guess it's okay to dip back in every couple of months or so, but if my memory space is ever running low, it's the first thing I'm uninstalling.

Those $2 could've definitely gone one something worse (I still regret the $3 I spent on that psn thing, Linger in Shadows) or something much better ($1.50 to re-buy Kirby Super Star on Wii U), but all in all it's okay.

Re: Nintendo Download: 26th December and 2nd January (Europe)

CharleSketch

I cave in and got EDGE along with Gunman Clive on my 3DS with what was left of my eshop credit after getting Shantae. So far I'm enjoying both of them. I was a bit torn with EDGE since it looked so, so pretty on Wii U, but the pick-up-and-play nature felt native on the 3DS; but so far it looks pretty great and it's fantastic for sporadic runs. Gunman Clive is practically revered around here, haha, so I went for it and so far it's been pretty good as well, so let's see what happens.

If only I had 21 cents to complete for Kirby Super Star on the Wii U, gotta appreciate the double-dip discount on the virtual console.

@SahashraLA I get what you mean, they're getting ALTTP on Wii U and get Super Mario 3D Land for free when they register a 3DS with Club Nintendo. I really wish I got the chance to take advantage of that promo.
