@29.pokemonzrpg Nope. I got it too. I didn't have a Wii at the time and was too poor to afford one, so I had little option.
Also, if I may speculate, I think the game will be a 'Manhunt 2'-styled "murder simulator", where you torture and torment Navi, Tingle and Agatha (the creepy bug girl from 'Twilight Princess') for hours on end. A new graphics engine was created to mimic real-world physics and perfectly simulate flying blood and spit particulate. A myriad of weapons can be obtained, including ball-peen hammers, rusty nails, needle-nose pliers, fish/meat hooks and the series classic Master Sword! Gesture-based WiiMotion Plus controls make you feel like you're in the game! Bludgeon and maim to unlock new gear! (Plot yet to be finalized.)
Like several here have said, this game reminds me A LOT of War Gods. And being a fighter fan, I'd be lying if I didn't say my interest wasn't piqued. I'll wait for the reviews before I make up my mind, however.
I'd like the DVD is it was, oh, an hour long and showed some the cooler aspects of the game, had a fun montage highlight reel set to some good music and was generally entertaining. You know, stuff like this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wOh968qao74 If the DVD's basically just a twenty minute (or less) tutorial... well, then, doesn't the game already have a tutorial in it? And aren't most people who are getting this already familiar with the first one? So what's the point of its existence?
Okay, yes, the graphics are crap, but it's still a tad early to start passing judgment. As long as the animation is smooth and there's no chugging frame rate (which is important in a fighting game) I really don't care about the graphics.
Majesco's record is more misses than hits for making quality games, so I'm not putting a lot of stock in them pulling this off. Sure, my interest is semi-piqued, but I won't be surprised if the reviews come out saying it's not up to snuff.
So, in essence, based on all of the comments here, it's a huge sh*tstorm of possible half-facts that perpetuate the notion that a 3rd party, non-casual (I hate the term "hardcore" as well) game just can't sell on the Wii. Personally, I think the biggest contributors to this is that the sales figures are based on only two days worth of possible sales and that the non-casual crowd -- the very people who this game is marketed towards -- were burned on the first Red Steel and wanted to wait until after the reviews to make up their mind. Since this game has NOTHING to do with the first game, Ubisoft only shot themselves in the foot by attaching its name to the previous sub-par -- although financially successful -- first game.
@Maxsh The blue shell is why I stopped playing Mario Kart Wii. As stupid as it may sound, some of us enjoy single player experiences in kart racers, and the blue shell ruined MKWii for me. It punishes you for playing well. You get nailed by an unavoidable attack and lose your position in the final stretch through no fault of your own. Ultimately, it's unfair and unbalanced for the sake of making it "fair" for the bad players. Between the blue shell and getting rid of the character-specific special attacks and karts from previous iterations, the whole Mario Kart experience is homogenized. (On a personal note, I realized that I was in for it when I played 50cc -- the easiest setting -- and I got blue shell'd twice in the same race.)
In the end, not having a blue shell equivalent in S&SASR was the smartest thing they did, making the game more about skill than luck.
How to make a good 3D Kid Icarus for Wii: Take God of War, tone down the violence (and remove the sex and nudity) to get a Teen rating, focus a lot more on platforming, throw in the bad guys from the previous games (Death, Eggplant Wizard, etc.) and make the MacGuffins the mystical armor. For variety, throw in free-roaming flying stages and end the game with a flying battle with the giant Medusa (similar to Star Fox Adventures). Voila--instant sales. You're welcome, Nintendo.
@24.BlueFlameBat & @29.Stuffgamer1 Yes, it accepts Wiimote with nunchuck controls, which is actually my preferred setup. This game includes all control setups except for Gamecube controller--everything else is available.
@31.outrun2sp Took the words right out of my mouth. The AI and weapons are a lot more balanced here. (I personally like the remote missile weapon--so choice.)
@32.Prosody Yeah, getting nailed by someone who is going All-Star can suck, but at least you see it coming and can avoid it... unlike [takes deep breath] THE STUPID BLUE SHELL. And in all honesty, the All-Star moves are no more damaging than the Bullet Bill power-up in MKWii, since that's what most of them basically are.
Wait a minute... Bash Party didn't sell well? That's weird (and sad). During the holidays, I couldn't find the damn thing--it was all sold out wherever I went.
This is... too much... in one day... to process... with the announcements... Mario Galaxy 2... and Metroid... I can't contain--BLARF! [vomits from excitement]

Don't forget that Jacky and Akira are driving a red Ferrari Testerossa convertible, referencing the Out Run series. They crammed in TONS of franchises with this line-up -- way more than I thought they would.
@BassX0: Your statement is accurate, clear and concise... which is why I hate you for making it. My dream died before it had a chance to live! [openly sobs]
@GonzoMontana: I'm actually glad that Hakushon Daimao didn't make the cut, and I'll tell you why. It would be like if they made a fighting game with the Hannah-Barbera license: Naturally, they go with Space Ghost, Birdman, The Galaxy Trio, The Herculoids, Samson & Goliath and other adventure-based characters, but in the middle of it, they throw in Yogi Bear. Hakushon Daimao was goofy and too "cartoonish" and didn't gel with the rest of the cast... which is what some may like about him, but I personally found him distracting.
Also, he was overpowered and spammed his throws and falling projectile.
So getting Speed Racer, The Samurai Pizza Cats, Dante (Devil May Cry) and Arthur (Ghosts 'n Goblins) in this game is still a possibility? Shinji's Evangelion might be able to finally fight Jin's Blodia Cyberbot?
...I'm not normally a praying man, but if you're listening Superman, please make this a reality.
@Mickeymac This version of TvC is going to Japan as well as the the Cross Generation Heroes version that they already have. Supposedly, Japanese fans begged Capcom to release Ultimate All Stars there after they saw what we're getting.
I love that the trailer is in crappy quality, like it was taken from a VHS tape that had bad tracking problems. Really gives it that retro feel. Also, I can't wait for this game to come out.
@Stuffgamer1 Hmm.... That site seems legit. And honestly, despite the fact that I don't agree with their decision, it makes sense that SEGA would choose Bonanza Bros. That game has appeared on no less than three SEGA game compilations and was one of the earliest Genesis games to hit WiiWare, so at least to SEGA, Bonanza Bros. is fresh in their mind and something they seem to like... for some reason.
Oh well. There's enough good characters in there for me. And besides, there still a chance for Nights, Ristar and Arcadia themed tracks or DLC.
Seconds? Yes, please. As for what I'd like to see in a sequel, I think Kirk hit the nail on the head for the most part. And the music would've been better without the lyrics. With the commentators, the characters yelling and the sound effects going on, it's just too much.
@antster1983: Hmmm. Okay then.... Instead of Alex Kidd... and previous reports said Toe Jam & Earl weren't in it, so... Jack from MadWorld. (Hey, a guy can dream, can't he?)
16 of Mario Kart Wii's tracks were simply taken from previous games, so this game technically edges out Mario Kart Wii in number of tracks... not that that automatically makes it better, mind you.
Also, my guesses : Gilius Thunderhead from Golden Axe Alex Kidd Vyse from Skies of Arcadia Akira from Virtua Fighter
If you read the document, it's pretty clear that because Nintendo didn't make transparent mention of x on their website or yearly reports, then they are given the worst score possible in that category. Sorry, but data analysis doesn't work that way, Greenpeace. You dig deeper, ask representatives and wait until you get the information you require before assigning a grade. Otherwise, give them a N/A and let the public make up their mind since Nintendo refuses to give the "researchers" info.
For those supporting Greenpeace, consider this: The founders of Greenpeace left years ago because they said that the group has turned to corporation bashing and "pop environmentalism" and it is now run by people without any scientific backgrounds. Keep that in mind when you read these reports.
I know everyone is thinking that Mario is probably going to be a racer in it, but it'd be nice if Sumo Digital went with another Nintendo property since the 360 has Banjo and Kazooie (and I'm calling Ratchet & Clank for PS3). F-Zero's Captain Falcon, perhaps? Or Samus? She could turn into a Morph Ball for her All Star move.
