Re: Rare: Fate Was Against Us With Goldeneye

BJWanlund

I played this game for the first time only a few years ago, and I've been praying for a VC-capable Goldeneye since the VC came out.

I hope it does come to the VC, but I wouldn't hold my breath. I guess Nintendo is afraid of the VC becoming a license to print money or something.

Re: Shantae Sequel, For Serious This Time?

BJWanlund

Interesting... haven't gotten the new NP just yet (need to grab that when Mom comes up this weekend), but this sounds really interesting.

I never played Shantae for GBC either, but this might be great if WayForward offered this on the DSi Shop as a GB/GBC/GBA type of download.

Re: Nintendo Download: Driift Mania, The Three Musketeers, Monkey Island and Guitar Rock Tour (EU)

BJWanlund

And I guess Nintendo is going to talk up some DSi-related stuff sooner rather than later. Let's see what Nintendo does tomorrow (20th anniversary of Game Boy). I'll be keeping pretty close tabs, since I'm a big handheld gaming fanatic, and Nintendo needs to get some Game Boy-related emulation onto the DSi (and if they were to do the Game Boy Player type of interface for GB games on Wii, I wouldn't mind too much).

Re: What Nintendo games do you want to see on the Virtual Console?

BJWanlund

Now, I know full well I'll be talking about 3rd party titles here, because I think Nintendo has a say even in what 3rd party titles go up to the VC as well.

Wii Virtual Console:
NES:
M.C. Kids
Snoopy's Silly Sports Spectacular
The Little Mermaid
Magic Johnson's Fast Break
Nintendo World Cup (How come this hasn't been released already?!)
DUCK HUNT (Come ON, Nintendo, it can't take 2 seconds to convert this to be used by any number of light gun peripherals for the Wii on Virtual Console! I've waited since the launch of the Wii to play this on Virtual Console. Please don't make me wait much longer!)

SNES:
EarthBound
Super Mario All-Stars
Ken Griffey Presents Major League Baseball
Super Mario Kart (Seriously Nintendo, what's taking you so bloody long to release this in the States?!)

N64:
Mario Party 1-3 (make it so, Number One)
Wonder Project J2 (at the very least an English translation. Please?!)

DSi Virtual Console (Please God, Nintendo, just freaking release this already! You're making me ill just making me wait for this):

Game Boy:
Adventure Island GB
Alleyway
Balloon Kid
Baseball
Bill Elliott’s NASCAR Fast Tracks
Blades of Steel
Daedalean Opus
Dr. Mario (IMHO the superior SINGLE-PLAYER Dr. Mario experience)
Duck Tales
Galaga & Galaxian (my first exposure to those 2 games)
Golf
Home Alone
Jeopardy Sports Edition
Kid Icarus: Of Myths & Monsters
Kirby’s Pinball Land
Malibu Beach Volleyball
Mario’s Picross
Mickey’s Dangerous Chase
Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers: The Movie
Motocross Maniacs
NBA All Star Challenge
Nintendo World Cup
Paperboy
Pokemon Red/Blue/Yellow
Snoopy’s Magic Show
Star Wars
Super Mario Land
Super Mario Land 2: 6 Golden Coins
Tennis
Tetris (PLEASE)
Tetris Attack
The Amazing Spider Man
The Incredible Crash Dummies
Wheel of Fortune (may be impossible)
WordZap
World Bowling
Yoshi (aka Mario & Yoshi to the rest of the world)
Yoshi's Cookie

Game Boy Color:
Game & Watch Gallery 2
Pokemon Gold/Silver/Crystal (bc I want to play the originals thru again before the remakes come out)
Pokemon Trading Card Game

Game Boy Advance:
Advance Wars games
Mario vs. Donkey Kong
Metroid Fusion
Metroid Zero Mission
Pokemon Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald
Pokemon FireRed & LeafGreen

That is everything I would ever want from the Virtual Console (both on Wii and, when Nintendo gets off their rumps to release it, the DSi).

Also, while this may have absolutely nothing to do with the Virtual Console, I'd like to see a Pokemon Box on the DSi Shop which is a repository of all your Pokemon from the Virtual Console/Virtual Handheld games which you can then basically trade between it and the new Pokemon Heart Gold & Soul Silver coming soon once you get to the city where the Time Capsule started to work in the original games (can't remember which city that it was right now).

That is all.

Re: Reggie Wants Your Dream Nintendo Franchise/Developer Pairings

BJWanlund

Hey Treehouse, could you please make me really happy and give the same kind of love you poured into New Super Mario Bros. DS & the upcoming NSMB Wii, and give me a similar take on the Super Mario LAND games, please?? And if you were to reimagine the original soundtrack to the original GB SML title, I'd truly appreciate it.

Although the DSi Virtual Console/Handheld needs to get implemented SOON.

Re: Hudson Not Abandoning Virtual Console After All?

BJWanlund

The Mario Party games, especially 2 & 3, were fantastic on N64, and then Hudson did the unthinkable with MP4: Full-3D. The best part of the MP series up till that point was the isometric perspective, and it truly felt like a video game that masqueraded as a board game.

I'd absolutely vote Mario Party 1, 2, & 3 (but specifically 2 & 3, I played those FANATICALLY) in a heartbeat.

Re: USA VC Releases: Mario Golf and Shining Force II

BJWanlund

Honestly, the first Mario sports game (Mario Golf N64) was not Mario-esque enough, but Mario Tennis for the N64 was most definitely as Mario-esque as the GC titles, with colored trails, power shots, smash shot trails that were purple, and a Bowser's Castle court with Mario Kart-style items. I know this only because I own Mario Tennis N64, and loved it!

I think Mario Tennis: Power Tour and Mario Golf: Toadstool Tour for GC will probably get a Wiimake soon... And maybe even Mario Golf & Mario Tennis games for DS?!

Re: Pokemon Snap

BJWanlund

This is one of my favourite games PERIOD, Pokemon or otherwise!

This WILL be a download, and it'll have to do until Smash Bros. N64 comes, as well as Mario Party 1, 2, & 3 and Goldeneye!!!
