@Chrizzel28 I kind of agree, I don't necessarily blame Nintendolife, it's just in vogue to harp on sexual themes these days. It's like we're returning to the moral panic of the 90's all over again. It's bad enough on this side of the pond, we don't need European reviewers going loony over that stuff too, traditionally they haven't been as prudish...
1. I would never get this because the value of Amiibo for me is far more in the figure than the minimal data it unlocks across the games.
2. This thing is clearly intended for nefarious use because it comes pre-loaded with NFC data that they don't have a right to distribute. You know when you see those emulators online that you can download without punishment? Well they typically don't also include roms with them, because that's illegal. If these guys didn't have it come pre-loaded they would have a better case for not being for illegal use. I mean we all know that's why MOST people would get it.
Thanks guys, your release date stuff helps me plan! Today was a mixed bag of joy/disappointment. Almost everything was positive news except Fatal Frame V in the West... Of course rumors prepared me for digital only but it still really, really sucks.
I'm playing through all the core Mario games and I just got 120 stars in this the other day. It's a great game still but it definitely is surpassed by its successors in Sunshine and the Galaxy games. Still, when this game debuted it was a perfect example of how to transition a series to 3D. Both Mario and Zelda both had successful 2D => 3D transformations.
Just steer clear of Adam Sandler, Uwe Boll & Paul W. S. Anderson and it could be alright.
I can't think of any video game film that is decent, let alone amazing. Still waiting on that Metal Gear Solid film though, that could be pretty decent if executed well, which is no easy task. The only way would be to have Kojima himself be heavily involved if not directing.
Europe ALWAYS gets better limited edition stuff... Canada is technically part of the British monarchical system, we should get lumped in with Europe for publishing purposes.
Pre-ordered! I didn't get the last Link Nendoroid but I'm glad I waited! It's a pity we don't have the technology to make him transform when he puts on the masks in real life.
The first amiibo cards come out in September (in North America anyway) and October I think? In Europe. They will be for the Animal Crossing series but I fully expect Nintendo to make more card amiibo later, they're cheaper and less prone to shortages.
Brilliant move, now that the big updates have released the game is at a level more people would be interested in buying. Despite owning it since release I understand why this makes sense. Hope it spurs some more sales, so far Splatoon has been a huge success for being a new IP on a platform with a lower install base.
I fully intend to use it for region free games if possible. Nintendo gets more sales of their games if I have access to that, so it's hard to feel bad about using the exploit, I'll be importing a handful of Japanese-only games that I otherwise would be blocked from buying and enjoying.
Most of all though I'm glad Nintendo is finally wising up to the region lock thing, they're one of my favorite publishers but region lock is anti-consumer and has to go.
@SuperCharlie78 $$$, I'm not really judging anybody but you get paid for articles and if it gets lots of people talking and spreading it... Well you know.
I like NintendoLife but Kotaku is another story...
Getting a tetris back to back 3 times is pretty close to sex.
All kidding aside, I'm sure that diversions of many kinds are good for curbing things, I'm not sure if tetris itself is the magical ticket to avoid smoking or something like that.
I really disagree emphatically. His interview was a very poor decision on his part, he knows he was at fault and said so himself. Chris made a judgement error and often that can get you fired. Any company would react similarly.
I hope so. I'd like to see Nintendo/DeNA inject a new higher standard of expectation from mobile games. Most mobile games I've played have been just awful or play-it-once kind of things. I wish people developed better games for the platform, but a big problem is capacitive screens which in my opinion are atrocious for game playing. Resistance screens are much, much better.
I can't believe people would complain about this. However, one thing is for sure, some games go YEARS without a sequel. Let's have less of that please. You can definitely feel free not to rehash every single year like Call of Duty and Assassin's Creed though, that's a nice feature.
Good. I hope that people can shut up about mobile "stealing" away dedicated game platform owners. They are two overlapping markets. Nobody buys a phone JUST to play Angry Birds. They buy phones for other reasons and play mobile games alongside those other apps/calling & texting features.
I'm glad people are starting to realize what some of us knew for years already and that data is reflecting it.

Re: Talking Point: The Argument For And Against amiibo-Cloning Tool Amiiqo
Two things.
1. I would never get this because the value of Amiibo for me is far more in the figure than the minimal data it unlocks across the games.

Re: Pokémon Brawler Pokkén Tournament Coming To Wii U Early Next Year
I see a ton of comments on youtube that are complaining on this...
Are they for real? Do people not want Pokemon to try and expand its horizons a little bit?
"I just want Pokemon Z!"
Come on, don't ASK for the same ol' thing. Let them try new stuff. This is pretty different from Stadium and the mainline games obviously.

Re: The Piracy of amiibo Now Seems Possible With the 'amiiqo' Device
Can't say I ever usually care about Amiibo in-game functions. I like them for collectible purposes. I wouldn't even make use of something like this.

Re: 3DS Homebrew Hacker Turns to YouTube App As Latest Workaround for 'Tubehax'
I just want region free... I'm happy to buy physical games but I shouldn't be locked out of Japanese-only games.

Actually some go even farther and sue.

Did everybody forget about that? That's even more ridiculous because it didn't negatively impact his former company, but simply benefited another one.
Re: Xbox Boss Phil Spencer Acknowledges Nintendo as a 'Beacon' for First-Party Games
He's not wrong. Phil Spencer is a cool guy. I don't own an Xbox One but he's definitely a great face for Microsoft's Xbox division.
Re: Chris Prangar, Nintendo Treehouse Staffer Who Recently Spoke About His Work, Confirms He's Been Fired
I was quite surprised when I read the interview. Didn't expect him to be fired but he probably was a little too loose-lipped.
