This weekend I’m finally planning to finish Donkey Kong Bananza and move on to the DLC.
With this game, fighting the FOMO is basically impossible, I need to grab every fossil and every banana. Which means I end up vacuuming entire levels… and honestly, with the elephant form it’s way too easy to do that, so I’m not even resisting. Absolute banger of a game.
Next up for me is Dispatch on Switch 2. My wife beat it in a single day today and was genuinely hyped, so now I want to jump in and share that moment with her
Curious when they’ll add proper local 2-4 player on one console where each player can use their own profile/account, earn their own points, and keep separate progression.
Right now it feels like local multiplayer is still stuck in "guest" mode
@UltimateOtaku91 I don’t think it’s fair to look at Microsoft repeatedly kicking Xbox in the balls and assume everyone else is going to follow the same playbook.
Microsoft is a mega-corp where Xbox has never been the core of the business. And things got even weirder after the Activision Blizzard deal: suddenly you’ve got execs staring at this massive acquisition and asking "okay, where’s the return?" (with the added irony that the company is also all-in on AI/LLMs and has a million other places to deploy capital). So now Xbox gets saddled with aggressive growth/ROI targets, and the strategy becomes "squeeze it for maximum revenue to justify the purchase." If that slowly damages the platform identity or burns studios along the way they can live with it because the overall company is still fine and the short-term numbers look good.
Nintendo and Sony aren’t built like that. Especially Nintendo. They can’t just torch a huge, profitable consumer business and pivot into AI or enterprise software as a plan B. Their consoles, games, and brand demand are the business. They need to protect the platform, keep the ecosystem healthy, and keep people wanting the hardware and first-party games.
PS5 taught me one thing the hard way: if you want a console, you buy it at launch - you don’t sit around waiting for some magical price drop that never comes.
Back then it was the COVID chip shortage. Now we’ve got a wrecked global economy and an AI boom that’s basically vacuuming up GPUs, memory, and manufacturing capacity. If you’ve been "thinking about it" and postponing the purchase, I’d honestly just decide and commit.
Prices aren’t going down: not for GPUs, not for RAM, and not for consoles/smartphones. If anything, the only real "discount" you’ll get is buying early before the next hike or bundle-only situation.
Now I really want to give it a shot, was already intrigued by the experimental move of making Zelda the main playable character. And honestly, the shorter length sounds like a plus to me. In a world where every game wants 20-40+ hours minimum, short and focused games are kind of gold (especially when you’ve got work and family).
@Dr_ENT I’m also really hoping Bayonetta gets a Switch 2 patch. It already felt kinda cramped on the original Switch, and it’s exactly the type of game that could benefit a ton from an update like that.
Nice to see Nintendo updating Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom for Switch 2.
And now I’m kinda wondering: is it actually worth picking up? I finished the Link’s Awakening remake, but it took me forever. The dungeon puzzles (especially late game) had me stuck and confused more than once. That said, I love the Zelda art style and overall vibe, so I’m still tempted. How is Echoes of Wisdom in comparison: more chill and more readable, or still puzzle-heavy with lots of "get stuck in a dungeon for an hour" moments?
I’m so ready to jump back into New Horizons. I even decided to nuke my old save and rebuild my island from scratch, I want to experience the whole game again with all the updates in place, starting fresh on Switch 2.
It’d be really interesting to see a Switch Lite 2 and what Nintendo decides to do with the screen. I honestly don’t see why a smaller handheld display would need 1080p (especially with the smaller battery). For a Lite, 720p feels like the more optimal choice.

@Spectrum123 keeping the TotK Switch makes total sense. That thing’s GOATed.
