Re: Sakurai Spills Some Beans On Super Smash Bros. 4

AndrewOnett

@WingedFish @FluttershyGuy How about axing Ike and replacing him with Magnus? That way the character roster isn't expanded and is much more realistic than including the Gods and Godesses.

The dev teams at Nintendo better eat, sleep and Wii by their desks if they want to have any hopes of sticking to that deadline.

Re: Michael Pachter Doubts 3DS XL's Powers of Revival

AndrewOnett

The 3DS/Wii U tablet will always be a better choice for the dedicated gamer because it has what the iPad doesn't, a D-Pad, Analog Stick, Shoulder Triggers and physical buttons to press.

Unfortunately, times have changed, the market has changed and there are a number of things that don't seem to make the consumer believe that the 3DS is a 'must buy handheld.' If you look back at the time when the DS came out in 2004 the market was very different. I've been meaning to ask my friends why they didn't pick up a 3DS. Many of them that once had one sold it. Perhaps the lineup of games for the handheld was underwhelming at the time? Perhaps the idea of two screens grew old to them? Many of them moved to PC gaming actually. I recall one of them describing the experience of holding a controller again as simplistic and heretical in comparison to using a keyboard to complete complex tasks simultaneously in a unintrusive manner.

Re: Nintendo Confirms Financial Loss for First Quarter

AndrewOnett

@mamp Agreed. I like to believe that they were rushed out to improve holiday sales for the 3DS that year. Needless to say, I'm sure they've learned their lesson.

The proof is out there. I can't remember if it was Shigeru or Iwata that referred to Super Mario 3D Land as an appetizer when comparing it to Mario Galaxy. That article gave me the feeling that he was openly admitting that it was a lacklustre game. I also remember reading somewhere that Shiggy wasn't happy with the development of Mario Kart 7. So there you have it folks. Again, I'm sure they've learned their lesson.

Random Onett fact of the day: Mario Kart Wii is still my favorite Wii game. It is far more superior to MK7 in almost every aspect and probably the best online game for the console if it weren't for the hackers.

Re: Talking Point: Nintendo's Digital Pricing

AndrewOnett

It depends entirely on the game. If it is a big title or one that has potential to become valuable decades from now, I'd prefer to have a hard copy to have signed for collectors value. Plus I'd have the option to sell the hard copy. With a hard copy I am also able to lend games out to friends and family so they may develop their own opinion of a game before buying it.

Re: Project X Zone Unveils Yet More New Characters

AndrewOnett

@Reala Brawl IS a fun game but it was unfortunately more of the same and didn't really feel like a valuable investment of my time. While the 'Subspace' mode was an interesting expansion of the adventure mode from Melee, it didn't save Brawl from its stale versus mode and awful online connectivity. Over all I believe the Subspace mode should have been its own game altogether, leaving the developers to immserse themselves in a fresh idea that better suits the games selling point, the versus mode. This game does have some strong points like a stellar soundtrack and colorful character roster and plenty of modes to play, however, the games shortcomings may overshadow them.

@GuardianKing Check out Sonic Battle on the GBA. It's pretty rad.

Re: Satoru Iwata: 'We Have Not Changed Our Strategy'

@Sony_70

"Not only that but it seems nintendo fans only look at is a case for better graohics and not things such as using more complex engines (unreal 4), having bigger worlds to explorer, better effects,etc. And having a powerful system. Is about future proofing your console to get support over a larger peroxide of time."

What?

I've got the same feeling of uncertainty as I did with the Wii in 2006 prior to its launch. However, I'm still going to pre-order the Wii U the same way and enjoy every moment of camping outside my local mall. Sharing that moment with other fans and making videos of the unboxing and review of the console/controllers functions is just too much to miss out on. Fact is, the Wii turned out to be a huge success with lots of unforgettable gaming experiences and I know the Wii U will do the same.

I guarantee you that Sony and Microsoft will blatantly rip off some of the Wii U's features and functions. Whether it be the Miiverse or tablet controller, I guarantee you it will happen.

Re: Grab Your Kirby 20th Anniversary Puzzle Swap Piece Now

AndrewOnett

@KodyWB-98 @Yosher There are no major events in your area? I nearly finished all of my puzzle swap pictures attending Los Angeles Anime Expo and San Diego Comic Con without ever previously playing it. Those places are great for raking up street passes. I just wish I took advantage of it when I was at the Zelda Anniversary Concert. However, I understand if you have no interest in completing them.

Re: Michael Pachter: Activision Demanded Wii U Pro Controller for CoD

AndrewOnett

@ThomasBW84

Agreed! Though I feel like there is an unnecessary comparison being made between the 3DS and WiiU which is causing paranoia. They are different in various ways and a strong lineup has already been put together to avoid the same problems the 3DS had when it launched. Therefore I will pick up a WiiU with confidence knowing I will have fun appetizers to hold me over until the entree is released.

Re: New Super Smash Bros. Is a 'Big Priority' for Namco

AndrewOnett

It will be a decision between Klonoa (He has the Pac Man pin in his cap) and Lloyd I'm sure. I'm sure Lloyd will likely win the popular vote and represent Namco 'IF' they are allowed to include a character. Now only if Megaman had a chance to appear and represent Capcom. Too bad any begging done by Keiji Inafune will do him no good.

Re: Talking Point: Another Look at the News - 6th July

AndrewOnett

Counterpicking is frustrating. I can't tell you how many times my Wolf got shut down from Dedede and Falco users abusing Wolf's terrible recovery from grab releases.

Yes, all I want is my Mewtwo back with the addition of Magnus and Groose. It will be a very manly character roster.

No more Pokemon please. Zoroark is a ugly digimon.

Re: Super Smash Bros. Needs A 'Change of Direction'

AndrewOnett

Pfft... Nintendo is the king of playing it safe. Expect to see a similar character roster with all of the cast from Brawl with some new objectives and special moves assigned to (what would function as) the C-Stick. I wouldn't be surprised if they mainlined the HP mode. That would change everything.

Re: 3DS XL Will Get Its Own Circle Pad Pro

AndrewOnett

Reading the comments makes me lol. Once everybody gets a chance to try it they will find that it really isn't that bad. Despite not being very travel friendly, this beast boasts bigger screens and a better battery life. Hell, if people carry around iPads on the go why can't I carry around my XL? It's going straight into my satchel.

Re: Pokémon Black and White 2 Hits the West in October

AndrewOnett

@Geonjaha

No amount of the truth will change their minds. They are too locked into their mindsets to do the research or consider that they are buying the same exact game again. The World Tournament and additional story (which more or less takes place on the same map) aren't enough reason for me to buy this game again.
