The Pokémon franchise has always been home to some quality music, but one fan has taken it to another level. Over the last couple of years Braxton "Skotein" Burks has been putting together orchestral versions of some of the series' best loved tunes to super effect.
Burks is currently working with Joypad Records to release a full album of music based on Pokémon Red / Blue / Yellow, Kanto Symphony. Joypad specialises in providing copyright clearance for video game music covers, and with its help Burks will be releasing the 35-track album on iTunes at some point in the future. You can check out some sneak peeks of the album on Soundcloud.
Have a listen to a couple of Burks' other tracks below, too. There are more tunes, taken from each Pokémon generation, on the Pokémon Symphony website, where you can also meet the musicians involved and keep up to date on the project.

I'm glad they're finally getting publicity.
They're the pokemon version of ZREO.
More over I'm glad they've released an update... I thought the project was cancelled! o.O
For some reason as i listened to the menu theme, i heard that deep voiced guy form the anime recapping the episode.
My goodness this is beautiful!
Amazing!!! Bring Red And Blue to 3DS Virtual Console NOW Nintendo, bring it NOW!
@NintendoMaster Red and Blue are good and all, but Yellow is my all-time favorite version. If any of those three versions get put on the virtual console... http://i1.kym-cdn.com/photos/images/original/000/264/200/acb.jpg
Also, how does this have less comments than the Kart Krashers trailer?
@NintendoMaster Keep screaming! Maybe Reggie will hear you!
Amazing. Simply amazing. There should be more Ruby and Sapphire, Gen. 3 had some of the best music!
Wow, I wasn't expecting to like this as much as i did.

Oh great!
We need Pokemon on virtual console, hopefully an updated version where we can trade our Pokemon wirelessly. But what we really need is a 3D open-world online Pokemon game in HD on the Wii U. It's such a no-brainer Nintendo!
Fan-frickin'-tastic.
Speaking of epic.[youtube:FKj6N_-8eEU]
Pokemon Reorchestrated deserves every little bit of praise. They are absoultley brilliant, maybe even better than ZREO.
@PikminMonster Let's not go crazy here...
@Onett
Reminds me of liverpool city from emerald. I loved that game.
Pokémon is generally epic and this sounds great. I like Pokémon music, like the anime opening songs I listen too on my iPod.
The second one was goosebump-inducing awesome!
