@NorthLightSuplx Not in general. I just don't like the idea of them being used & directed towards specific people in a way that distracts from the point they were trying make & just used as a jab at vocabulary. I promise I'm not here to make enemies with you.
We get tiny E3s all year called Nintendo directs. I've been pretty appalled at the fans today to be honest. It's not like we have a shortage of great games to play. All of the emphasis can't be on one single day. The "Nintendo is dead" and "I'm selling my Wii u for a ps4" talk is hilarious. Who needs enemies when you have fans like that? I don't think Nintendo is perfect and this wasn't our best E3, but good lord the amount of trash talk today has been ludicrous. 'Spoiled' is the only word that comes to mind. If Nintendo making some decisions that don't have you hyped through the ceiling really leaves you this angry then maybe you should aquire some additional hobbies to divert your attention to. I'm pumped for starfox, yoshi, Mario maker, Devils third and xenoblade not to mention awesome indies I'm looking forward to and my backlog that I need to complete.
Haha, gamers just get more & more spoiled and entitled. It may not have been the best E3 we've ever seen, but maybe just think about what you DO have as opposed to what you don't have. If developers just did what everyone said and were basically our puppets then there would be no room for surprise and mystery. Plus let's not forget that E3 is not over yet.
@NorthLightSuplx While I agree that excessive profanity can be distracting and tiresome, I just thought it was silly that Thomas was quickly scolded for accidentally putting the word damn in an article. I also said that I understand I'm not the only type of person that frequents this site that he must take into consideration so it makes sense to try & keep it as PC as possible. Just lightly defending one of the staff that keeps this whole ship (that gives us a forum for our Nintendo related opinions) afloat. And please don't try to make me feel dumb by putting words I like to use in quotes. You're an immediate and shining example of why I don't typically post on forums in general. My initial post wasn't even directed towards you.
@Kirk I'm glad to see other folks were as put off by this guy as I was. Geez dude, are you completely void of social tact? Nobody thought Reggie was going to win. It was just rad that he was out there in the first place. What other president is going to do that sort of thing? Now I feel like he'll probably be more reluctant to do that sort of thing in the future. It was like watching a pro basketball player slamdunk on the old owner of his team and be really proud, rude & disrespectful about it. "Fraud", "boy" how about "thanks a lot for the opportunity to be at this rare Nintendo event where people will actually give a crap for 5 minutes that I'm good with a character named 'jigglypuff' in a game you helped put out"
That was the low point of the show for me by far. The rest was positive and more fun & entertaining than I even expected it to be.
Also @ThomasBW84 I could care less if you curse on this site. I think people who give those words the power to offend them have their priorities jacked. But I also am a minor demographic I understand and you guys wanna keep it as professional as possible. Just wanted to say I don't comment much but I visit this site daily and you guys do an awesome job! Thanks for your hard work on keeping us up to date. It is appreciated sir!
I probably played for a good 8 hrs yesterday. I couldn't help myself. It's the freshest and most fun game I've played in a long time. It's all so efficient too. Going through menus and hopping back online was consistently blazing fast. I adore splatoon & never got tired of the minimal stage setup knowing that lots more content is coming. Can't wait to play more today
Poot on everything holy! Looks like I'll miss this one as well. Unless I can convince my friends to elope instead of have a full fancy wedding that day. I've got the splatoon itch something fierce!!
That's exciting! I've always wanted Nintendo to make an ambitious balance board type action game. In my mind this dream game would be reminiscent of sin and punishment and you use wiimotes as guns/swords while riding on some type of floaty or skate board. My rational self realizes that not many people own balance boards though, and the demographic that does is more the casual wii fit type. I just think it would be rad to get a workout on your balance board while saving the world and wailing on 1000s of dudes. Here's a check for my 2 cents, but wait 'til tomorrow to deposit it. Cash is tight around the holidays.
Lots of strong options. Smash will be great I'm sure. I'm very excited for Bayonetta 2, but I've yet to actually try that series so I can't say it's at the top of my list. I went with Art Academy because the sketchpad has been a blast. Nothing feels more at home on the gamepad, and there's just something to be said for un bound creativity.
I got this game day one and am really enjoying it! It feels more like a puzzle game even though there is room for improvisation. And the gratification you feel for accomplishing some of these levels is tremendous. I think the comparison in the article of learning a song is a good one because you literally have to chip away at the stages, step by step, until you can finally complete them all the way through. The stage I stopped on last night before bed had killed me 95 times. I believe it's stage 4-4. By this point in the game it is brutal & you have to be incredibly attentive. You can tell a lot of care went into the making of this game and I'm pumped to try & finish it. Knowing that there are 18 different characters w/ different styles and abilities will keep me playing this game for a long time! Not to mention that there are still multiple modes & extras to unlock. Oh and the music rules too! Actually I think I've just talked myself into getting back on the game & getting slaughtered some more can't wait for NintendoLife to review this beast.
Someone may have already mentioned this, but I've noticed a few other additions: There are some new prompts that didn't exist before like the "cancel pluck","cancel lock-on" and pretty much any other time you cancel doing anything. These aren't new abilities. You've always been able to do these things (by pressing B). It just tells you how now. And after you've finished a mission stage you can now retry that stage immediately from the results menu. This way you don't have to back out to the stage select menu. This may just be for the mission stages because that's all I've been playing, but I noticed these things immediately because I love this game & have been wearing it out trying to fill time before Mario Kart 8
So pumped about downloading Mario Kart 8 at midnight. I'll probably get Watchdogs on Wii U when it arrives later in the year, but it's not really on my radar at the moment because of that.
@Kosmo I was thinking the same thing. That's not to hate on Pokemon fans getting their own art academy, but the sketchpad app has been incomplete for quite a while now & it's one of my favorite things on my Wii U.
