Over the past few months, my enthusiasm for this game has been decreasing. And its not because lack of chat etc, its just Ifeel I have seen way too much of it now, it now longer feels new to me.

Wow, a full weeks notice for an ND? Ninteod is really getting it's act together for Splatoon. I mean can anybody remember the last time we got a full weeks notice before an ND, not counting E3?

And I'm also impressed they are doing this May 7th, yesterday I was thinking Mid-May was more likely as a they like to wait to the last minute.

I feel like ordering both the Inkling Amiibo now, I mean what if they get sold out before launch? Like Rosalina was... I already pre-ordered the game bundled with the Squid Amiibo.

I'm mildly excited for it. As someone without a reliable internet connection for gaming though, I'm waiting for reviews to see if the single player content is worth the price for admission. Haven't been terribly impressed with the local 1-on-1 mode yet either, so this will essentially be a single player only experience for me if I pick it up.

Not surprised. Are we seeing the return of monthly Directs now? (I hope so) I'll definitely be tuning in to this.

Like all Directs that are during the day, I won't be able to watch it live. I will watch it later on YouTube when I get home from work.

AWESOME sauce. I'm really hoping that they announce a free game promotion like they did with Kart last year. Probably not, but I can dream anyways.......and regardless; I'm still buying this game. Too bad they couldn't release it a week earlier in NA to line up with the long holiday weekend.

Hoping for a more beefed up local multiplayer. Tried explaining to my daughter that to play together we pop balloons and she was like "what do you mean".

I'm most interested in the singleplayer. Preordered the two inklings and the special edition. Hope to get enough infos about the extra challenges for the inkling amiibos. If it isn't worth it I would cancel the inkling amiibos preorder. The extra equipment for the inkling ammibos doesn't look interesting for me (school girl + samurai) but the squid extras does.

Hopelessly dreaming here, but if they closed out the Direct with a trailer with a Splatoon DLC character and stage in Smash Bros., I might just die happy.

Yes I'm so looking forward to it. Hopefully it lives up to the hype and actually becomes one of Nintendo's most popular franchises.

I was kind of hoping for support of non-Splatoon amiibo. Maybe they'll have an announcement.

This is a stretch but I'm hoping they announce Splatoon amiibo support for an existing or future 3DS game

@TeeJay agreed, the whole Amiibo value is in multiple game support kinda falls down with these. i get the squid one with my copy, i really want the Inkling girl Amiibo but without another game using her it just seems to expensive.

Its odd that Splatoon only reads these (like Hyrule/Kart) amiibos and not writes to them (Smash/Party)

@Christoff thought they said can be used with either? I'm sure i saw that BEFORE the Dojo mode was announced. I could be wrong

This is almost as exciting as Xenoblade Cross...kinda sorta almost...but it should fill the void until we actually get a Xenoblade Cross release date. Fingers crossed its really coming out this year!

Looks a like decent game, but 60 bucks for short story with no local multiplayer. Then the online doesn't even let you socialize with your friends or work as a team.... If they don't announce these things this game is going to fall flat. And help the lead the wii u to the grave that much sooner

So they still do have a lot of details hidden up their sleeves, that's good. I was getting a bit worried that this was about all they had.

Hopefully this gives more info than the Xenoblade Direct, though I'm pretty sure it will considering this game didn't reveal as much info as Xenoblade did before the direct.

@Savino I didn't miss it, buut it doesn't say there are no private rooms. You just can't adjust the settings. That's how I understand it.

I really hope they anounce a Delfino plaza stage for splatoon. I feel super mario sunshine stages would work really well in splatoon.

I really didn't expect this game to be SO CHEAPLY priced.

At this price the lack of voice chat and whatever else don't matter so much to me.

If I was paying the standard £49.99 for this game when it lacked those features I would not have bought it until later after the price cut.

I was starting to lose interest in this game (just a little) but then yesterday I watched the exclusive Game Informer video that's on GameStop's website.

Not sure if there's much left to reveal unless they simply want everyone to see the whole game before release. Maybe gameplay from new modes/gametypes?

But the fact that this is a competitive team shooter that practically requires team cooperation and communication to win, and you can't even communicate... That's a bit of a problem. It's not like Smash or Mario Kart where you're kind of doing your own thing. This is a team game and to cut off communication between players is like cutting off this game's potential at the knees. But I'll tune into the Direct, I suppose, on the off chance they'll change my mind about it.

Not really. The gamepad gives you all the information you need.
