Re: Mario Kart 7 Art Races Your Screen

AbuJaffer

@19Robb92 No discernible pixels, you mean. Removing pixels is technologically impossible (for now).

Luigi's caution is much helpful than Mario's "barge in" attitude; look where it got him in Luigi's Mansion!

Mario Kart is second on my list of must-have games this winter; first is Zelda and third is Sonic (Mario isn't that high I'm afraid). Nintendo systems of course; PC-wise Batman and Skyrim make up the list.

Re: Guild 01 Is a 3DS Compilation by Japan's Brightest Lights

AbuJaffer

This game looks interesting; 4 original games on one cartridge? New games as well? I can't remember the last time that has happened (other than Wii Play Motion, as @C-Olimar mentioned above, and the very recent Pacman & Galaga Dimensions). I think more developers should do this, especially with games that wouldn't do very well at full-price (like Cave Story 3D).

Re: Konami Takes Pro Evo Online with PES 2012 3D

AbuJaffer

This actually sounds like a great game. I might pick this up! This part grabbed my attention pretty well:
"... a new Touch Screen control system where players use the Nintendo 3DS stylus to move their players."
They added a new mode for the HD console/PC versions where you control one player with the left analog stick and one with the right; this is like that, except you can control players more intuitively on a map while simultaneously controlling a player with the C-Pad. Those TWEWY skills are finally going to pay off in ANOTHER game, right?

Re: Survey - 58% of Indie Devs Say Nintendo Difficult to Deal With

AbuJaffer

I actually care about downloadable games for the 3DS eShop. I've moved (temporarily) and, unlike physical games that take weeks to ship from the US, eShop games come instantaneously and without region lock. In addition, my favorite genres are RPG and platformer, and we have 2 2D platformers already announced for the eShop. Since full-fledged 3DS retail releases aren't an ideal place for retro 2D platformers, the eShop fills that void; I'm perfectly OK with that.

Re: Talking Point: The Role of the N64 on the 3DS

AbuJaffer

Instead of writing a long response (like I usually do), I'll just make it quick and simple; I had a Genesis, PS1, and PS2 instead of an SNES, N64, and GameCube, respectively . I never played those "classics", and therefore would greatly appreciate remade/remastered N64 games, or SNES/GameCube games.

Re: Yuji Naka's Rodea the Sky Soldier is Finished

AbuJaffer

Just give it over to XSEED, they seem to know when a game is worth bringing over and do it well (for the US at least). I remember hearing about cross-platform play so that'll be a great way to show off the 3DS/Wii's connectivity before the Wii U comes out (for developers).

Re: Take a Trip to Emerald Coast in Sonic Generations Shots

AbuJaffer

@DarkSquid I almost did the same, but I set aside cash for Mario Kart 7, Skyward Sword, and then I went, "There's some other game I can't recall, but I'm sure it's important." Set aside cash for that as well. Good thing I did, although either way with Eid coming up I'm in no shortage of cash.

Re: Feature: Staff Memories of the Game Boy Advance

AbuJaffer

The GameBoy Advance was my first portable and it has very dear memories in my heart. From the beatifully animated and detailed games, to the beloved series that continued on the system, to the high power the system offered, I loved my GBA. I look a the 3DS as a sequel to the GBA, seeing how it's the only handheld I've bought since the GBA and, and between all these retro games/2D eShop releases, I feel like we're back in 2000 (which is a good thing). It feels good to go back to the beloved basics.

Re: Talking Point: Why No Plans for GBA on 3DS Virtual Console?

AbuJaffer

I think Nintendo will release them after at least 2 years of eShop Virtual Console goodness. It seems porting these bad boys is much more difficult than the NES's simple ports, and costly, which is why I think Nintendo is only using up part of the $32 million they made off of the 4 million Ambassadors. In other words, they already have the Ambassadors' cash in their hands so they can afford to make costly ports; if they release them for a price, there won't be nearly as much cash to be made. And then they'd have to rethink their pricing structure; GBA games would be at least $10, at which point it becomes comparable to $20 DS games and $5-$15 3DS/DSiWare games. They don't want to stifle other modes of income, obviously.

Re: Feature: Remembering the Game Boy Advance

AbuJaffer

The GBA holds a place in my heart as not only my first handheld, but my first Nintendo system as well. I had a Genesis the generation prior, and frankly, at such a young age I didn't give a rat's butt about who made the system as long as it had great games. Also, I preferred the original design to the SP because of the great gaming grip it offered. I had a little clip-on light that got rid of the backlit issue as well.

Like most good things though, my time with the GBA had to end sometime. It broke and to this day I still have its carcass, with a rattling sound whenever you shake it around. A sad day that was indeed; I'll always remember you fondly oh beloved Game Boy Advance.

Re: The World Ends With You Lives On, Says Tetsuya Nomura

AbuJaffer

It's really a great game. The music and art style may not be for everyone, but I personally loved it.

@LordJumpMad I'm just sad you couldn't enjoy such a great game. If a gamer can't enjoy amazing games there's no point in playing games is there? Let's hope there's some other genre you like, seeing how RPG's aren't your style apparently... poor thing.

Re: Review: MotoHeroz (WiiWare)

AbuJaffer

Looks amazing but as mentioned before, I'd like a demo. Also as mentioned above, the 3DS sorely needs titles like these to push the service. A port, perhaps?

Re: Feature: Nintendo - Gaming in Black and White

AbuJaffer

Gaming is special because, even if the songs or video get outdated, the gameplay won't. You watch a 1980 movie and you'll probably feel like your eyes are bleeding. Play a 1980's game and if it was fun then, it's still fun now!

And I was around during the NES era, but I had a Genesis. Sadly I never finished Sonic and those classics (I was too young for that) so I need to finish both retro Nintendo and retro SEGA games.

Re: Nintendo Won't Keep Miis Cooped Up in the Plaza

AbuJaffer

I had over 100 coins I hadn't used yet so I used half of them on StreetPass Quest. I'll use the second half once I'm back in the US. In other words, I'm still playing through the game so a couple more months without a new one is fine by me.

Re: Feature: The Future of Nintendo Gaming - 2D or Not 2D?

AbuJaffer

Platformers (especially 2D ones) are my favorite genre and the past few years have been great to me as a gamer. I hope I get a ton of original 2D games on my 3DS and on the Wii U.

@Mandoble That's some incredibly deep sarcasm you got there. At first I thought you were being incredibly retro and joking slightly.

@Shockerz If you're joking then completely ignore the next statement.

Hear about that Toshiba laptop for $1699? Uses glasses-free 3D. And the 360/PS3 already have 3D support, and the Wii U will have some as well. And we already have 3DTV's.

Re: Talking Point: The GBA Games You Want on 3DS Virtual Console

AbuJaffer

I want Pokemon (A choice between Ruby, Diamond, or Emerald would do!), Super Mario World Advance (my favorite GBA game I NEVER FINISHED! RAGE!), Mario & Luigi RPG, Rhythm Heaven (GBA version of course), and for the last one I want Nintendo to surprise me.

And @bonesy91 Four Swords is already confirmed coming for free for everyone. Remember the E3 press conference? REMEMBER MAN! REMEMBER! Shakes bonesy a couple times REMEMBERRRRRRR.... fades into darkness
