Re: Review: Borderlands 3 Ultimate Edition - Makes The Jump To Switch Almost Entirely Intact

@Frogspree when I buy my games if there is a physical without any downloading required then I buy physical. But for games that put a tiny portion on the cart and the rest is a download I do eshop. But most games today at the latter. EA FC24, borderlands 3 are both two games that recently came out where the physical was a waste. These companies don't care as they are trying to kill physical at all costs.

@RiasGremory I understand your point but these people paid for the game and are free to do what they wish with it. That's why this street date issue needs to be handled at a vendor level. Since once the game is purchased it belongs to the customer.

@Dom_31 Borderlands 2 uses unreal engine 3 and Borderlands 3 uses unreal engine 4 which is a huge leap in tech. Secondly, you can't take a game that is 135GB (PC) and tweak it down to 19GB (Switch) and not expect huge degradation. Borderlands 2 was 22GB total on PC! So it's amazing they got this game working at all. Have you watched the comparison video to the PS5 version? It still looks great considers running on a phone chipset from almost a decade ago!

Man, I loved this game on my DS. But $20 for a DS game now?! If this came with the sequel I could see paying this but not for this price. The game is extremely short but on the DS it was amazing to have a good FPS! I remember at one point in the game you are on like the top floor of the hospital and the hallway is broken and you're looking out to the hospital amd it's raining and lightning with thunder. On my DS in my room with the lights off it was insane! But it's a 3 hour game for $20?! If the sequel was there I'd be in easily but not for this price.

Re: The "Actual File Size" Of Borderlands 3 Ultimate Edition On Switch Has Been Revealed

@LikelySatan yeah, it's insane as they could literally put those new microSD cards (with the faster speeds and extra pins) in a Switch cart and they could have 256GB sizes for like $5! You could easily go up to 512GB for $10. Plus it would still be super fast. But knowing Nintendo they'll use some crazy format that is expensive as heck. Also Nintendo needs to use a reliable wifi chip this time as the AC chip in the switch is garbage. I have 1.4Gbps down and 400Mbps up yet on my switch I get like 22Mbps down?!

I have less than 30GB on my 1TB microSD and I'm so happy SanDisk just released a 1.5TB microSD (fastest speeds) for only $150! So I have one on order now. The speed ratings are Class 10, U1, and A1 app performance, with read speeds up to 150MB/s and write speeds up to 100MB/s. Micron was the only game in town for 1.5TB microSDs and they were selling for $500 each!

@Ganner do you remember Super High Impact football on the SNES, "I eat quarterbacks for breakfast!". For years after that game my friends and I would use that quote, lol. Then came Blitz and finally NFL Street! Lol, you don't see games like this anymore. I remember playing Blitz on my Sega Dreamcast and I was blown away by how it was exactly like the arcade. Volta football is kinda the only thing we get today in FIFA... err EA FC23. And the recent Mario sports games have blown big chunks.

@sixrings no, it is but it's the way he goes about it. Wearing socks calling police pigs (and tons of other stuff, shirts, stickers, etc. Saying the NFL is akin to slavery (slavery making millions) while at the same time begging to be included and trying to force teams to take him or be labeled as racist. This man is a race grifter. He's not doing it to help the cause but to line his pockets

Re: Review: Wild Card Football - An Ambitious Take On Gridiron Lacking A Full Deck

5th313ment

Kinda reminds me of Blitz football! I used to love those games! But no teams and only players? Also Kapernick?! The same guy who made a movie about the NFL being akin to slaves and then at the same time is begging the NFL to hire him, lol. This guy is the biggest racial grifter next to Shaun King. Yeah, I wouldn't buy anything he gets a penny from. But to each his own!

@Zanzox thank you sir. Also I always forget to mention this but also the game is huge and it has to pull from a microSD which is slow as dirt. Which is why the game takes two minutes to almost start up as it loads everything it can into system memory and ram. It would be awesome if Nintendo kept SD cards but enabled the advanced pin features on ultra high speed bus (its a second row of pins on the microsd to enable high speeds). Otherwise with microSD you're using an almost twenty year old medium and speeds to go with it.

@DogDetective it could be your microSD card. Like I said above maybe your card is too slow. I have a 1TB but it's the fastest one they make. Try putting it on internal mem?

@RubyCarbuncle you're kidding right? Plants in violet and scarlet? In BL3 yeah they cut the grass and such but it's already pushing crazy stuff. Have you not seen the world in the Witcher 3 or no mans sky?! And pokemon with its ps1 flowers and n64 trees? OK stan...

@Adol-Bannings oh they are being taught that but the tide is turning. Males are 4 to 1 conservative vs women today. It's racism pure and true and eventually it always comes to a head. I remember this streak of videos showing women with white baby boys saying how they were teaching them not to be evil (their words) and reading them these crazy sjw books. Is the wise nefarious words of WEF, "You'll own nothing and be happy." Lol

@Serpenterror don't bother about the physical as 85% of the game isn't on it. I always make a choice. If I can't play the cart without downloading then I don't buy physical as it's a waste. Otherwise it physical all day like the Witcher 3.

Re: Video: Borderlands 3: Ultimate Edition Side-By-Side Comparison (Switch & PS5)

@Warioware mine is 18.9GB. But it looks like only 3.1GB is on the gamecard. 5.3GB is the update day one and dlc is 10.4GB without the languages pack. It's 23.5 if you download everything plus the language packs.

@Murkyelm lol, I didn't notice the lines being gone but you're right. It looks like some things have them. The switch probably just couldn't do the rendering. As those lines are present on all the other borderlands games on switch.

Also I've yet to be in a fight that tanks the fps to noticeable levels. The only time I was able to tank it was going super high on this mountain and then looking down into the valley which was pretty much the whole map and it still didn't chug but you could see the switch was struggling. The Witcher 3, Borderlands 3, No Mans Sky, DOOM, Zelda TotK! Just these five games make Gamefreak look like an indie studio with less than a years game development skill. Nintendo should be ashamed they've let them release games in these conditions and then not even fix them. 😤

I'm loving the gameplay and the port job is amazing. I'm just blown away that they can get this running decent on Switch with a ton of crap going on in an open world but Pokemon can't even maintain a framerate with nothing going on.

As for the game, the plot sucks and the game is constantly pushing an agenda that men stupid while women are da bestest Eva! And so many strong independent woahmans who don't need no mans! It's fun to blast away, but I'm tried of my games trying to teach me what I should believe.

Also I've found a few bugs, one is super serious. I reported them to the dev but they tried to get me to clear my cache on my switch, no joke.

Sleep crashing bug: Playing BL3 and putting the switch on standby for more than a few hours causes crashes 100% of the time. I tried clearing the sys cache (2k support), putting game on internal memory. I'm on an OLED with sys v16.1.0 and BL3 v1.0.1.

Also some other Switch bugs: The skags make sounds like they are next to me from far away. The same thing will happen with bad guys sometimes. With subtitles on and a cutscene the black background behind the sub stays on the screen also after the mission "Speak to Ellie" until next dialogue.

I posted these on the Borderlands Twitter as at minimum the crashing bug needs to be solved.

@Dhuuth I agree, I would love if physical games were still a thing but that is done. I still buy all my games physical, if the full game is on the cart (why bother otherwise). But I think physical is done after this gen. I think Nintendo will hold onto it for one more gen and then even they will dump it. But I think most switch 2 games will be the same of tiny bit of game on the cart, etc. What are you going to do, stop playing games?

Re: The "Actual File Size" Of Borderlands 3 Ultimate Edition On Switch Has Been Revealed

5th313ment

@Dhuuth I have the game and that's the breakdown in the file manager on switch. Also then don't complain when big companies make an effort to do impossible ports. We need to show support for devs who put in the time for switch and considering they have all the borderlands games on switch, gearbox and 2k have!

Also, as a side note borderlands 2 is actually bigger than 3 with all the dlc and everything.

@cyberboycoolen yup, 18.9GB. But it looks like only 3.1GB is on the gamecard. 5.3GB is the update day one and dlc is 10.4GB without the languages pack.

I'm so tired of people complaining about companies not supporting switch and when a company goes out of their way to do an impossible port they don't support them.

Mine is downloading now and my cousin and I play together online. These are great games for co-op!

Re: Review: EA Sports FC 24 - The Best Football Game On Any Nintendo System, Finally

5th313ment

@popey1980 they are trying to bribe you to lower your contract price with sweets! Lol

Unbelievable, on my switch game So on my Switch FC 24 is 29.3GB on version 1.53.dd6d. The switch says 8.1GB is the software and 21.1GB is the update data (this is not a day one patch but rather the rest of the game, but technically a day 1 patch but not in the traditional sense). So EA literally put the tiniest gamecart they could to do a physical cart. Just when I think they are changing. And Popey1980 your daughter's game is version 1.0 and it must be 8.1GB. I was going to get physical but not if 75% of the game is download. Popey I would love to know how much of the game is on the cart? From what I hear most teams are missing, modes, etc. Just wow, what a waste EA.

Re: Review: EA Sports FC 24 - The Best Football Game On Any Nintendo System, Finally

5th313ment

@popey1980 thank you so much. So this solves the info about size and cart size. So Nintendo World Report YouTube channel said the game fully downloaded was 29.3GB on version 1.53.dd6d. And Popey1980 said with his gamecart he still had to download 21.1GB. So roughly 8.2GB is on the cart. Now the game is playable from the cart but from the video that was talking about it most of the teams and modes aren't there if you start without updating. Just wow, what a waste EA. What was your version number Popey? NintendoLife maybe you should add this info to your review as I was waiting for this to see if I got physical or cart?
