Play.com have it listed as £179.99. What a rip off! No AC adaptor and no charging cradle, price should be less than £150.
I like it though. My girly is after her own 3ds and colors3d so this will be perfect. Waiting for amazon to list. It better be a better price or this will flop in UK worse than vita.

What? this demo is online? I downloaded it around 3pm, it said x6 plays ONLY... so I havent played it yet... didnt realise it was online! I am impressed. but my 3DS just ran out of battery and no charger in this here town.

Why doesn't he just make a game that doesnt use the second screen at all?
If you don't like a tool you are given as a developer but are also given MANY other tools, just discard those you dont need.
Noone wants to play a game just because it uses every feature available.

If I do not hear an announcement for F-Zero at E3 I am selling my Wii, my 3DS and will not buy a wiiU. Instead I will pick up a second hand GBA, GameCube and N64 and F-Zero on those machines.

I think you are correct in your thinking. A lot of parents see it as a single letter difference between similar consoles of the same ability.
DS DSlite DSi DSiXL 3DS.
They are oblivious to the fact the 3DS is more powerfull than the Wii console in their living rooms. Kids are not, though. I think Nintendo know this too.
The 3DS is starting it's marketing campain very strong with some great adverts explaining the new features... even drip feeding features per advert.

Nintendo will be doing something about this with the "WiiU". Be it a sneaky name change (I know nothing) or some fantastic and consistant advertising.

This generation, Nintendo want to be seen.
I now know some things which are so cool about "WiiU", it is difficult not to let them slip... aaarrrgggghhh....
All I can say is there is a WHOLE LOAD more than you already know.
I can't believe how distracting the controller has been!

I have a very trusted source telling me that WiiU "Will wipe the floor with the competition" in terms "in graphics, controls and loading speeds and technical features"
I also hear some really pants news "it seems they didnt want that" which I cannot mention.

The sides are now wider to accomodate stick placement and probably because Nintendo spend 1000's hours testing comfort and strength of all of their products... and saw this was much better.
The screen is exactly the same 6.2" we have all grown to love.

I just found out something VERY dissappointing about WiiU.

I have played on the original wiiU controller earlier this year. It was extremely comfortable to hold, to the point where I forgot I had next gen in my hands.

The wii remote was aimed at the wiiU controller and they press 'A'. then it is aimed at the screen and press 'A' again. This provides two reference points.

The wii remote can NOT tell what sensor bar it looks at.

On another note, I can not see this being very good. I see it being a pain in the backside. And who really wants to be using wii remotes again? I am sorry but I will not be buying a single game that uses the wii remote as standard.
I want the future.

Something about Rayman(lack of arms and legs possibly?.. I am Limbist)makes me never want to spend money on games with him in. I have instinctively avoided every rayman game because of how he looks and how the gameplay looks too much like "I want to be mario"

Still, I will be glad to try a Demo after all this time. Maybe I will be proven wrong.

1. @Philip J Reed - I expected a worse review from this iphone-esque game. Now I am all confused.

2. Nintendo are supposed to want to take the majority of my paycheck. This game must be a virus or Harbinger of death. Or some sony/microsoft evil plan.

3. It just doesnt make any sense. The tree's are the same colour as the grass!

I can confirm the WiiU controller design is final as we have seen but apparently the "console and some other bits of hardware" have a "few supprises yet to be shown"

I can not say what these extra features are as he wont tell me, but I would not be supprised if we get something similar to kinect.

The WiiU has a Wii Sensor Bar built directly into the WiiU controller. It forms part of the sensor strip at the top of the controller and surrounds the camera.(big black strip)

The wiimote pointing down at the wiiU controller see's the IR sensor and as you swing your arms, the wii remote tracks the position of the IR on the controller and then as the swing progresses, the wiimote tracks the TV mounted IR sensor bar... calculations on these two pieces of info are added to wiimote accelerometer and gyro info and combined to a more realistic golf swing and also... the moment the wiimote senses the second IR bar, the controller visually shows the ball as being hit.

Very clever.

Kid Icarus is my favourite game of all time.

Nice to here direct from a dev on this matter.
I have been speaking to another dev about an impending update to their already released eshop title and the update apparently even has to go through these same checks with Nintendo... so it will take a while.
Personally I would rather have good quality, finished products than rushed, poor efforts. 1UP to Nintendo from me.

I have totally just realised a HUGE potential for the wiiU for day one awesomeness.

WHAT IF...
The eshop is preloaded with DS games!
The wiiU could upscale them. The controls would be identicle. Customers happy. developers rich all over again. nintendo happy.

can you control your tv with the wii? not everywhere but you can in Japan thanks to some fancy tech. This clearly will be in wiiU. it has even already been dubbed as a universal remote control.

I think you need to open up to NFC a lot more too. Much more can be done with it than that daft rayman video. The wiiU has TWO forms of NfC. One that works on contact and one that works just by being nearby. There are many amazing possibilities with this tech.

can the wii make toast? no. Neither can wiiU.

I will put money on Android integration.
We already know your mobile phone can connect to wiiU if it has NFC, wifi, or usb. (pretty much every phone) for microtransactions etc.
The wii can't do this..

Can you stream movies on wii? yes. Can you buy a digital copy? no. (wiiU can)

How many hard drives can you attatch to wii which isnt hacked? none? just the sd card. not a vad option but not a big option.
the wiiU will have multi hard drives (any hard drive, usb stick) able to work on plugging it in.

Most developers are really lazy when it comes to making the most from Nintendo machines. Instead focusing on churning out the same game on every platform with hereditory features like touch screen, buttons(sometimes) and speakers. and thats about it.

Its not just 3D they need help with but at least ninty are getting this out in the wild, public knowledge of this can only encourage them, I hope.

Most developers would sell more and make more money if they asked Nintys help more often, as the developers I know that have asked, have benifited greatly.

moral to the story, keep a bookshelf full of screen savers ready at all times when using NFC as you have to put it on your lovely screen!

If they are dev controllers, why are they in a finished advert?
That black square must do something even if they are dev units, they have a purpose.
Also The wire looks removable and isnt in every shot. I think it is the new charge cable. And nothing to do with wired dev units. nintendo said it would charge from the usb so this is cool and ok.
