Confused about Monster Stones in Echoes of Wisdom? You've come to the right place.

Monster Stones are brand new to Echoes of Wisdom, and at first, it's not very obvious what you use them for. You'll find and pick up many of these purple stones across Hyrule and they have a very specific purpose.

In this guide, we'll be telling you all about Monster Stones, what they're for, and how to get them.

What are Monster Stones for in Echoes of Wisdom?

Monster Stones are used to pay for Automaton repairs at Dampé Studio.

If your Automaton breaks, you can warp to Dampé Studio and use Monster Stones instead of rupees to pay for the repairs.

Dampé accepts rupees as payment, too, with varying costs depending on the Automaton, but it'll cost just one Monster Stone to mend any of them.

The in-game description calls them "Strange stones that form in monster bodies. They're considered a collectible among enthusiasts."

Check out our Automaton Guide for more information about Dampé and how to unlock all Automatons.

Where to find Monster Stones - Locations

You'll find Monster Stones in treasure chests most frequently. You'll sometimes get them as rewards for completing side quests and challenges in-game and very rarely by defeating monsters.

You can occasionally get Monster Stones from scanning amiibo.

You'll also get Monster Stones as rewards for beating Slumber Dojo Challenges, completing the Precious Treasure Side Quest, completing the Mythical Deku Snake Side Quest, and after completing the fourth Stamp Card in the Stamp Rally Side Quest.

You'll likely accumulate a healthy number before you can even do anything with them — you won't gain access to Dampé's studio and Automaton building until roughly halfway through the game.

Monster Stones FAQ

Should I sell Monster Stones?

It's possible to sell Monster Stones, but you shouldn't. You'll only get 5 rupees for each one, so it's better to spend them on mending Automatons.

Is there a way to get more Monster Stones?

Increasing the material drop rate from enemies by using the Survey Scope or Survey Binoculars (rewards from the Recipes, Please Side Quest) is one option for farming Monster Stones, although the drop rate still isn't great.

Can you use Monster Stones in Smoothies?

No, Monster Stones are not Smoothie ingredients. They don't blend, see?
