Pokémon Legends: Arceus is the latest adventure in the Pokémon franchise, this time bringing with it a whole new open world, new catching mechanics and more.

While the deep mysteries of Hisui, and which Pokémon you’re going to encounter, are left for you to solve, there are a few big changes from classic Pokémon games that might take some getting used to.

In the past, when you wanted to swap a Pokémon from your party into your PC, you could either go to a Pokémon Center, or in more recent games, swap the Pokémon on-the-fly. However, in Pokémon Legends Arceus, there are no Pokémon centres to be found, so where do you swap Pokémon?

How to swap Pokémon in Pokémon Legends: Arceus

The main place you can swap your Pokémon is in Jubilife Village.

Just head to the right side of the village on the map and you’ll find the Pokémon Pasture. Here you’ll find all the Pokémon you’ve caught on your adventure. If the pasture is getting too busy, you can always release the Pokémon back into the wild, and in exchange, you’ll receive some items. You’re going to be catching significantly more Pokémon than usual on this journey, so don’t get too attached when you need to release 40 Magikarp back into the wild!

You can also swap your Pokémon at any camp in the game. When you’re out in the field, look for the NPC next to the professor wearing red robes. He’ll offer to swap your Pokémon for you, and you can also buy some items from him. This is much more helpful than having to travel back and forth from Jubilife, especially if you’re just looking to quickly evolve something.
