Basically, Matt misused the word "hardcore." The article is really about how Nintendo has an incredible first-half lineup this year, especially compared to last year, and in that view, it's a good article, although I was disappointed that Rage of the Gladiator wasn't featured.
Oh, some idiot posted "wii is for virgins," so I quoted it and replied the following (no subscription cost to comment): "Not exactly accurate, as a lot of older married people are casual gamers who prefer the Wii, but you do make a nice point that the idiot teenagers and 20-somethings that won't wait for marriage to have sex are the kind of people who will have exclusively a PS3 or X360, people who stupidly think graphics matter more than gameplay and love all the disgusting gore in all the M rated bloodbaths on the other consoles."

IGN definitly loves their clicks. Matt's Article was pointless and everybody already KNEW those titles were hitting this year. Matt knew himself before hand(we all did after E3) that all of these fantastic titles would be coming out in 2010...Yet 'he' and other IGN editors kept whipping out those negative Wii Articles. It's all BS, a cry for Nintendo's attention, clicks, you name it. As soon as Indy83 pointed this out(with total hatred) in the latest 'hardcore' article, Matt jumped in with a quick swift reply and banned Indy83. Indy83 was correct, yet his comment was full of profanity
IGN Wii has been ridiculous these days. Bozon made a huge mistake in one of his articles regarding Zelda, they've all been so negative in the podcasts, and the articles have been Nintendo 'bash-y' all of the sudden for the past couple of months, Bozon even jumped ship and left IGN and there has barely been as much 'actual' news as their was before.
Hardcore, casual...I HATE both words. We play games why? because they're fun. What's the definition of hardcore? Being some Bald headed milatary commando blowing somebodies brains out with a machine gun? Well most of the brain dead teenagers and alot of kids these days definitly think so.
To me, being a hardcore gamer means playing video games is your favorite way to spend your free time, and the amount of time you spend playing video games reflects that.

I don't get all of this talk about hardcore/casual/whatsthemostpopularcatchphrasethisweek and the like. When I have time, I play games. When I don't have time, I don't. Lately, I haven't had much time so I've been playing games predominantly on my NDS. Does that mean I can't appreciate a game like Monster Hunter Tri? Sure, whatever ... nevermind that I already pre-ordered the bundle and have a demo disc sitting on my tv console. I stayed up until midnight the night they released Mass Effect 2 so I could go buy Tatsunoko vs. Capcom. Does that mean I'm not hardcore? Then again, I love playing tennis on Wii Sports, so obviously I am a casual gamer.
It's enough to make someone's head spin.
I play games because they're fun, and because they interest me. Not every game is going to appeal to every player. All this talk about studios stopping production of games and people freaking out ... over what? That the most popular console of this generation was going to stop having new games for people to play? Was this seriously ever a concern of anyone? If not, then why do we keep rehashing this stupid argument?

I don't care if it serves "hardcore" or not?! There should be just quality and a variety of gaming. Nintendo Wii has that more than anybody no matter what anyone says.
