Yes. Yes they did. And it was Manwich Night too.

I am the one you despise. I am he who says what you really deep down know but are affraid to admit. I am the Anti-Fanboy, the crusader of truth in a world built on your lies.

What is this? After reading this and the "Nintendo is lazy" article, I can say that Matt have severe issues.
I guess he likes to be in his imaginary club house named "Hardcorez Gamers111".
This labelling is really no more than an marketing ploy, since the Genesis/Mega Drive days.
Everyone can play the games he chooses to.

EDIT: And an fail cookie for not noticing that Sin & Punishment (1) is available in around the world now.

There's always going to be haters drawn to hating the best. And IGN is the best in the business, like it or not.

Not talking about the website in general, this article from Matt is really lacking.

The word "Hardcore" needs to fall into a pit of spikes and stay there. People are so obsessed with the word that if somebody doesn't call one game/system "Hardcore" the other person goes bat%#$& crazy and tries to kill the first person. And what is a "Hardcore" game? Psychonauts is considered a hardcore game, but it has nothing that's totally geared towards the standard (long-time, "hardcore") gaming crowd. While the main problem does stem from fanboys, but the word is more of a problem than anything.

The Best in business you say?

Well that just proves how pathetic game journalism has became this generation.

It seems strange to me, all this hate for IGN. If you lot hate it so much why the f**k do you read it. I myself don't like The Daily Mail Newspaper but do I whine and moan about every article they write? NO. Know why, cause I don't f****** READ IT!!! Simple.
There are some very sad ,deluded fanboys on here!!

What's this bit for again?

It seems like you people upset about the IGN hate are more stressed out than the haters themselves. Who cares? The hate is not unwarranted. For me, and many others, it's not even about the site, it's about the quality of some of their writers, such as the guy who keeps writing this drivel. Of course the Wii is hardcore, and it took him this freaking long to notice.

I'm guessing this was your reaction?

This. I love how anyone who has an issue with stupid, inconsistent, self congratulatory nonsense articles on IGN is an auto fanboy.

Oh I am glad some here are so unbiased they can put labels on other people. Kind of like....... Matt!

I mean honestly - what is so suddenly hardcore about the Wii lineup? Mario is hardcore? Lol. Trauma Team is hardcore? Really? What, is that the third Trauma game on Wii now? And Wiiware is wiiware, what - Bit Trip, Megaman, Swords and Soldiers, Alien Crush, Star Soldier, etc, etc, were not as hardcore as the games they mentioned? Lol, again.

Stop hating on other board members, please, you just make yourself look elitist and superior. The basis for this article is utter condescending nonsense. Remember when this all started for IGN? When they hyped 'Kid Icarus' as an E-3 show stopper and hyped its graphics and its 'Metroid Primeness' 2 years ago. The game is a no show, yellow journalism on IGN's part, so they trash Wii Music for 6 months to 'make Nintendo pay'

I guess they are back on their knees again for the Big N now?

I high five everyone who has thrown this back in their face, we don't need this casual baiting garbage. Cover all good games, IGN turkeys, you are phonies.

Guys. IGN is a professional Website - it needs revenue to stay open.

The number of clicks you guys alone have given that article on IGN simply to then come on here and rant about how bad IGN is has probably paid their bills for the next year.

Ergo, IGN is brilliant.

Sorry, but I'm unclear as to how babies incoherently whining about IGN (on a completely unrelated site) is throwing anything back in IGN's face.

Would this post be better thrown in your face, were I to make it from gamefaqs, without you knowing about it?

This comment is just a touch insufferable.

Do you think people here do not know IGN is a business? Is that really 'brilliant' Are you 'brilliant' for stating the obvious?

Look, the 'brilliant' people are perhaps those who take it seriously and think they are making a valid point. This is just a topic about how bad/stupid their editorial is. ITs nice we get a lecture about how good their business model is - real relevant? Do you really think this little turd article will 'pay a years worth of bills?'

And the reason I do not post on IGN is because :

A: I never go on the site.

B: I think you have to pay subscription to post there - isn't that brilliant?

But yeah, we are babies - IGN is the grown up.

Wow. The "Attitude" in your user name is right - you need to calm right down.

I was simply pointing out that IGN often writes editorial opinion pieces for the sole purpose of grabbing hits - just like every other Website that relies on making money. This kind of thing - controversy for the sake of being controversial, is brilliant in getting stressed out and trigger happy fanboys to click and then spread the hate (with links back to IGN, naturally) through the Internet.

The hardcore discussion is a perfect way of doing that. I discovered that personally when my article on the topic generated insane traffic.

If you really hate IGN so much, the best thing you can possibly do to rage against them is not talk about them and not click on links to them.

I don't think hardcore is particularly about games, consoles or anything like that. Rather, it's about attitude; you're hardcore if you play the remaining three-quarters of SMG after the ending, get all the unlockables on MKW without whining about blue shells, get your ratings off the top of the charts on Wii Sports, etc. It doesn't matter that the same games are also accessible to just about anyone out there, which is surely a good thing; rather, the best games are just what you're prepared to make out of them.

It kinda irritates me that they copied my idea on that one : http://www.gamepro.com.au/article/334264/nintendo_wii_ultimat...

Still, it's correct and I agree with that opinion.
