J Bitties, it looks like you are suffering from what is known as Nerd's Ego.
Mmmmm...I think you should give it another shot. I'm fully capable of laughing at myself if someone makes a comment taking a shot at me and it's funny...that just wasn't. Good try, though! I'll give you an A for effort!
So childish. I'm not getting into this with you because it will only make me look like I'm 16 years old too. But since you believe that Microsoft and Sony are developing new systems, why are they releasing motion peripherals for their current systems now?

A : Nintendo is returning - RETURNING! - to the game design principals of their early arcade/NES history. In fact - most of their NES games were arcade cabinet games. So - wii see fixed camera 3-d games, single screen games and gameplay ruling completely over narative.
So then, yes, quite.
Most creative time in Nintendo history - what other publisher can ROUTINELY! make completely new IPS and have them sell over 10 million?? While the rest of the industry, inclusing Nintendo-minor has sequelitis.

Metroid Prime 3 was made by Retro Studios, not Nintendo. The Legend of Zelda Twilight Princess is a NGC game. Super Paper Mario was made by Intelligent Systems, not Nintendo. So the list of Wii specific Nintendo made main games is:
Animal Crossing: City Folk
Mario Kart Wii
Super Mario Galaxy
Super Smash Bros. Brawl
And four minigames packs:
Wii Sports
Wii Sport Resort
WiiFit
Wii Play
We have only four main games in 3 years. Definitively their investment in game developping should be rather small, which might confirm their maximum effort is put on I+D.
Umm... A majority of the games Nintendo publishes are made by 2nd parties, not in-house, so what's your point?
And to throw this out just for kicks, Brawl was developed by Sora and Hal Labs.
Quality over Quantity. Besides, I don't know about you, but I already don't have enough money to get all the games I want and there are more to come around Christmas and my Birthday next year so...

welcome to the game industry! I guess soon the Wii will be like Leap Frog and all these game mags and sites will no longer bother to cover it.....
hahahahahahahahahahahahaahahahahahahahaha
Should not the hardcore gamer actually divorce Nintendo instead of just getting drunk and making a scene at the bar every nite?

Nintendo need to pull their finger out and get making Pilotwings Wii
have a look at that Little game called "Wii Sports Resort" seems to me we already have half of "Pilotwings Wii" Pilotwings is another one of those "idle" franchises so I am not really fussed/shocked we don't have it yet we did get a Punchout revival two/one new "Excite ____" and we are getting Sin and Punishment 2 so shrugs
oh, and I love how my less than definitive list of games by Nintendo has become the focal point of both sides of this argument. hilarious
Jesus Christ, some people in here have nfi about business.
Look at the breakdowns on how each company spends its money. Nintendo has to invest in hardware as well - it's a hardware company. It costs money to come up with hardware, and when you're aiming for original or "innovative" hardware, it costs even more to develop.
EA makes games. That's it. It effectively has twice or three times as much money to invest in games.
Again (I was ignored last time so he could go on a silly little rant) - I suggest if you honestly think you can do better, submit an application to Nintendo. I'm sure when they're done laughing they'll be impressived with your incredibly deep business credentials.
I'm happy with Nintendo and I think everyone else here is too. But I just got my Wii about 3 months ago, so I haven't been suffering through shovelware like others who have had a Wii for 2 years or more.

I think you'd need to know how many staff within Nintendo are devoted to software development before you could complain about their output. Not only are they not a dedicated software house, but we seem to be forgetting that many games made by biggies like EA and Activision are actually developed by subsidiaries; in fact I'd imagine a very small percentage are developed by companies that have "EA" or "Activision" in their names.
Nintendo are doing fine with their output, they just have a broader audience to satisfy and only so many resources and part of their fan base seems to be very vocal and impossible to please...
Last time I checked Nintendo didn't really have that many employees. I think I read somewhere a while ago that Nintendo employees are worth the most out of any company globally because they have a huge revenue with very few employees.
For example Toyota (the biggest company in Japan) have 300,000 employees, IBM has 400,000 employees Sony has 180,000 employees, Microsoft has 93,000 employees.... in comparison EA is tiny with 7,900 employees but Nintendo has 4,000 employees. Even Ubisoft has more employees than Nintendo and they don't even make hardware. I think Nintendo are doing ridiculously well in terms of output all things considered.
