Topic: What is Nintendo doing?

Metroid Prime 3 was made by Retro Studios, not Nintendo.
The Legend of Zelda Twilight Princess is a NGC game.
Super Paper Mario was made by Intelligent Systems, not Nintendo.
So the list of Wii specific Nintendo made main games is:

• Animal Crossing: City Folk
• Mario Kart Wii
• Super Mario Galaxy
• Super Smash Bros. Brawl

And four minigames packs:

• Wii Sports
• Wii Sport Resort
• WiiFit
• Wii Play

We have only four main games in 3 years. Definitively their investment in game developping should be rather small, which might confirm their maximum effort is put on I+D.

I listed a small selection of games Nintendo have published on both the Wii and GC for comparison. If you really want to get pedantic about which ones are "Nintendo games" and which ones aren't then you would probably end up calling Brawl a non-Nintendo game and Melee a Nintendo game. Also note that I didn't mention Wii ___ titles, Wario Land, Wario Ware, 1080, Mario Strikers, Endless Ocean, Sin and Punishment etc.

Basically I was responding to your "Nintendo hasn't done anything and there are no good Wii games by Nintendo" by pointing out a bunch of good 1st and 2nd party Wii games compared to a bunch of comparably good titles by this time on the Gamecube. Guess what? they look very, very similar except that the Wii also has (not instead of) Gamecube remakes and these ridiculously deep so called "tech demos". I don't know, I thought it explained itself but apparently not much gets past you/penetrates your skull.

Well I'm happy with Nintendo, not fussed about anybody else, especially those that visit Nintendo fan sites and start threads like this. Just sell your Wii Mandoble (if you've actually got one), problem solved.

Does not matter if a game is developed 2nd party from the likes of Retro. Nintendo went to them and hired them for the project. So Nintendo published it and guess what its still their game. If you are not happy with Wii why not quit supporting it or get a 360 or PS3. There way too many threads complaining and whining. Maybe you should complain to Nintendo and not us. Also since your from Spain do you not have Bulls to run with ? If so please get trampled so thats one less person I have to hear complaining like a spoiled brat.

And I dont see how you can call Wii Fit a minigame pack, when its the highest selling Nintendo game (excluding wii sports)

Mmmmm...I think you should give it another shot. I'm fully capable of laughing at myself if someone makes a comment taking a shot at me and it's funny...that just wasn't. Good try, though! I'll give you an A for effort!

@Mandoble: You do realize that Intelligent studios and Retro Studios are part of Nintendo, right? So technically Nintendo made Super Paper Mario and Metroid Prime 3.

I dont really care if these studios are Nintendo or not, ok, lets add 5 more games there, which will result in 2 or 3 games per year instead of one. Again, quite low rate for a company like that. But Devil_Hunter_Dante is right, why to share my thoughts with you, better to send them to Nintendo by e-mail. LOL, well, forget about this. I dont care at all about Nintendo, Sony or MS as long as I can play the games that I like, having a PS3 + Wii + XBox360 is just a matter of space as all of them are really cheap pieces of hardware. I was only intrigued about the investment of Nintendo as sofware outcome is quite low, so tech outcome should be quite high.

A-SWE, obviously, it depends on the investment. How many games does EA produce or publish per year and for how many platforms (I think 15 only for 2009 and for most of the platforms)? How many times is EA bigger than Big 'N'? Or is it the opposite?

LinktotheFuture, dont get me wrong, I love most Nintendo made games. But as said, I count four "big" projects in 3 years.

EA produces tons of games because they churn them out, Nintendo actually takes the time and effort to make something special, EA is not a good example of how a games company should be.

besides, EA own half of the game makers in the world or something....
Na, but seriously, good games take time, look at Valve for example, they havent made many games but the ones they have done are fantastic.

Isn't wario land shake dimention Nintendo? I personaly would class this as a big deal game. But but your right Nintendo need to pull their finger out and get making Pilotwings Wii and some decent DSi ware.

Yeah, there are many more than 8. colmtheperson is right. (Missing Mario Party 8 as well, but that isn't as big) I think they are doing fine.
