Hmm, according to Metacritic, the January issue of Game Informer Magazine gives Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: The Crystal Bearers a score of 5.5 out of 10. That news is a little discouraging but I'm still interested in getting this game. I will probably wait and see what other reviewers think about it before I buy it though.
If their review says "waggle-fest" anywhere, its not a valid review.
Despite what others say, only Nintendolife's review matters to me. Game Informer and other non-nintendo magazine/sites have official become invalid in terms of the Wii.

Even though i agree that those scores are low Assassins Creed 2 deserves the 9.5. (not sure about LBP psp)
I wasn't saying that Assasin's Creed 2 didn't deserve that score. I was just using its score to show what kind of scores that games on other platforms get compared to good games on the Wii.

8/10 seems plenty high enough for a game of this genre
IGN and LOL G4 gave it low reviews. IGN gave it a 6.2 LOL G4 gave it a 2/5
It seems to me that neither were impressed with the combat, which is fine, Gametrailers said there was issues as well, but IGN and G4 seem to hate exploration and just want straight on combat. Or are sick of any form of minigame what so ever unless it's Kratos ripping a demi-gods head off.
Cheesy VO aside, this game still sounds like a great purchase and I still plan on getting it. I just think people should go into the game with the mind set that it's not a "core" FF game and that it's not just 50 hours of grinding... I'm looking at you FFXII!
Oh, Hardy, don't go Star Wars like geek on us. That kind of stuff happens all the time.
I have yet to play the game but I have read the full written reviews of IGN and Games Radar. The funny thing about them is that despite their low scores the game still sounds like a blast. A lot of the stuff they mentioned (especially IGN) sound like nitpicks at best. The biggest flaw seems to be the camera system, but that's a flaw in MANY, MANY, games. It was also complained about that the game goes in a minigame direction between story progression. That looks like fun personally.
None of these problem will prevent me from giving it a shot come Christmas. It's supposedly already being held by my mom as a gift.

I got to play this game a little bit last night and I think that it is pretty good although very unusual. It is very different than any Final Fantasy game that I have ever played. It isn't really even an RPG. It is more of an action adventure game and it kind of reminds me of The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess. The graphics in this game are absolutely gorgeous. This is definitely the best visuals that I have ever seen on the Wii to present date. The voice acting is decent but can be a bit cheesy at times. You use the Wiimote as a pointer to pick up and manipulate various objects, monsters and even people with your telekinetic powers. While the controls work pretty well, the camera can be kind of annoying. The game itself is really fun and mixes the action up with different styles of gameplay. It even has an in game achievement system that awards you with medals when you complete certain objectives. So far I have gone through a few different types of events such as shooting down flying beasts in a shooting range style game to piloting an airship through a narrow canyon and escaping from Chocobo riding guards on a Chocobo drawn wagon while using my telekinetic powers to fend off the guards as I made my getaway. This is only the beginning of the game, mind you. I haven't had too much time to play it but these are my early impression of the game. This is the type of game that you need to go into with an open mind and don't expect your typical Final Fantasy game because you might end up disappointed. If you are still cautious about this game then I would highly recommend that you rent it before you spend your hard earned cash on it.
If you were expecting typical Final Fantasy, you obviously haven't been following the news on this title anyway.
