Played the game, the codes for the pre-order wepons i posted earlyer work. To the game its great, the graphics are just awesome, using the sword is realy fun and you propably wont shoot too much becous the sword just steals the whole show and on normal dificulty its sometims pretty hard especially the boss battle with Pain (atleast for me died 3 times :-/ ) i definitely recomend this game Sorry for my english
Those are some snazzy graphics by normal standards, let alone Wii. I'm guessing all of the 8.5's are because the only obvious flaw is the lack of something to do afterwards. No multiplayer, no special survival mode, nothing except a medal system. Other then that, everyone says it's fantastic.

Oh well, it has 80 on metacritic right now. I'm thinking it might reach 84 when some 'Nintendo' reviews come in, but not more. Disappointment but at least the game is good.
So ends a saga older than time itself. The World's oldest and fiercest army has been led to victory, and a lost generation is delivered from its fear of extinction. As the sun sets over the field of conflict the dinosaurs disperse, hoping never to set foot in this place a...
whats the disappointment Mnementh ? I love the game so far, sure theres no blood and multiplayer (multiplayer would be so cool) but even without them its a great game thats worth every euro/dolar/ and the UK thingy
the disappointment is the metacritic score. I know it shouldn't matter but I had hopes of it being a 90+ game and up there. Ironically, or not, I just realized it but cave story might be in metacritic soon next to SMG and World of Goo as one of Wii's best games. 1up already gave it 100.

oh, well no Wii game thats not Mario,Zelda or Metroid will get 90+ on metacritics becou the reviewers will find someting that they want there like here alot of them wanted blood in the game, the sword combat isnt 1:1 its half second delayed and that why the lower the score to 7/10. But this game is a 8+/10 game.
Looks pretty good. I might get it after I gain enough cash. I'm also waiting for more people to play the game, since I feel that player feedback is more important than what developers/reviewers have to say about the game.

@romulux That's why I said that I'm waiting for more people to play the game before deciding to buy it.

Played the game. Pretty fantastic so far. DEFINITELY one of the top-tier Wii titles. We have endured a lot of Ubi Soft shovelware but it all came down to this one excellent game, lol. Despite the reviews, I didn't find the game to be nearly as repetitive as most Wii titles. It has pretty decent pacing overall especially considering it's basically a glorified brawler. What the enemies lack in variety they make up for in numbers so you always have to stay on your toes.
My only real grip with the game is the targeting system. It has a manual, automatic, and semi-automatic option. None are ideal. Manual is mostly for experts and is sort of tricky when there are more than two enemies on screen (which is most of the time), while the other more user friendly options make it more difficult to pull off the awesome finishers. Still a must buy for action game fans. I don't care what the other reviews say, this sucker deserves a 9.0!

WooHooo, I just received word from 3FM, a Dutch radio station, that I won Red Steel 2 . I almost pre-ordered it so I'm really glad I didn't. Can't wait to get my hands on it.

Pretty cool - even better if it's the Motion Plus bundle! I should have it at the week-end, I should hopefully able to get some play in before Sakura Wars shows up!

I think most of their games (developed/published) were very high quality. Rabbids Go Home, No More Heroes, Dawn of Discovery, and now this, and there's PoP in the pipeline, etc.

Well, No More Heroes and Dawn of Discovery were developed by others and merely published by Ubisoft, but yeah, Red Steel 2 and the Rabbids games points to in-house talent for sure.
I got my notification from Amazon that it's in the post - wooo!
Yeah, they've done some good games; you could add the Shaun White ones to the list too. However, that's no excuse for the mass of mediocrity that makes up the rest of their catalogue. I did a quick search on Metacritic and found they'd done 64 Wii games, yet only 7 had scores of 75 or above. The shovelware argument sticks as far as I'm concerned.
Still, to focus on the positives, I'm really pleased with how Red Steel 2 appears to have turned out. The first game was a real mix of highs and lows, and the reviews suggest that they've really put the effort into building something out of the sequel. It'd have been all to easy, and quite typical of Ubisoft, for them to have churned out a cheap follow-up to cash in, but I'm very glad that they didn't.

Would be cool, but I already have two Wii Motion Plus devices, so I don't need it. Probably sell it.
