Thinking about picking it up for 20 bucks. Wanna know if its like Arkham Asylum

I meant like level design. I've heard enough reviewers comparing Arkham to this, and I loved that game but never got into Metroid. Just wanna know if they have comparable level design

They both come on a disc. Arkham Asylum is fun, Metroid Prime 3 isn't. I don't see the tiniest similarities in either game, unless you want to count weapon upgrades.

It's like, I just love a cowboy
You know
I'm just like, I just, I know, it's bad
But I'm just like
Can I just like, hang off the back of your horse
And can you go a little faster?!
I just couldn't get into the first person Metroids. I've beaten all the 2D ones more than I care to think of LOL (Not that I think they're bad, it's just embarrassing how much I've played them) and am really looking forward to Other M. I don't know what it is, but I can't get into a game if all I see is hands or a gun, I need to see the character on screen.
And hey, nobody can ever accuse me of being a fanboy LOL
So let me add this, if you like FPS', then by all means get MP3, you'll probably love it. If you don't like them, MP3 won't change your mind on them (but it's still nothing like Arkham Asylum).

I had a hard time getting into Prime 3. I often got headaches when I played it, and overall I didn't like the way the game played. That said, I've almost beaten Prime 1 and loved every minute of it, up till the point where you have to hunt for artifacts. I stopped playing there.

I wish I had stopped playing there, Pix. When I got to the point that I was asked to hunt them down, it almost seemed like a joke. I figured there had to be something more to it than that.
Nope.
For some reason I didn't mind MP2 as much, but the super depressing atmosphere makes me never want to play it again -- same problem with Twilight Princess.
Corruption was just... Yet another step away from being a traditional Metroid game and toward a kind of game I don't like.
I wasn't impressed by Arkham Asylum's demo whatsoever, mostly just mindless beat em up action, but I can't believe I'm mentioning this in the same post as one on Metroid.
I'd still like to beat it someday. From what I've been told the Ridley fight is super awesome.
I have Trilogy so I've played all three games, but only a small portion of Echoes. I didn't like the atmosphere either, but I didn't even play enough to reach Dark Aether. Frankly the knowledge that that portion is even in the game served to de-motivate me from wanting to play it. :/
Out of curiosity, how far into the artifact hunt did you get in MP1?
I beat the first two MP's, Pix, and even started Hard Mode of MP1, though it was not interesting enough to finish again. This is going to sound weird coming from me, but I really liked the puzzles in MP2. Retro obviously fell in love with the morph ball. I don't know if I was just tired of it after MP2, or if they went overboard, or if they just ran out of new ideas, or maybe my tastes have just changed, but I found the morph ball puzzles were one of the main reasons I didn't like Corruption -- too much seemingly pointless puzzles breaking up the pace, with no enemies insight. MP2 also has some fun bosses, and having that central area alleviates some of the tediousness of backtracking from MP1. If not for the atmosphere, MP2 would be my favorite of the trilogy, but because of that I'd have to put it slightly below the original.
weird, game sites said Arkham had a Metroid feel. Whats up with that?

If you don't already have Prime 1 & 2 for GameCube, get Metroid Prime Trilogy instead of just Prime 3.
Ash: Professor Oak, how's your Bulbasaur?
Prof. Oak: Oh, it only hurts when I sit.
...
Prof. Oak: It's only Chansey if Krabby won't let go. Bye, now.
Ash: I don't think I'm going to call him anymore.
