Despite that preview of Iron Man 2, it still sounds better than the game for the first film (though that's not saying much). Really everyone who does a film on a licensed property should try to copy The Incredible Hulk: Ultimate Destruction -- probably the best game based on a license I've ever played.

The Incredible Hulk was really awesome, but it was more comic book based than movie based. So it wasn't under a deadline, and the developers were able to put in what they thought was awesome and they obviously had a lot of fun with it all. There are such things as good license games, but they are in the minority.

I lol'd.

Over a year away and it's being developed for other consoles makes this game very boring to look forward to. I thought the Wii actually had something special coming up FPS-wise and well, now it does not.

Something special coming up FPS-wise? I wouldn't exactly count on HVS for making any special FPS game. Look at how mediocre and generic The Conduit was...if it didn't use Wii Remote IR Controls the game would of been crap, dated and even more lame than it was. HVS talks about creating amazing controls, graphics and sound...but based on The Counduit they have zero talent when it comes to imagination, art direction, creativity and innovation. Any company can make a game look pretty, sound great and control well...

That's a great opinion!
Though, you completely omitted the fact that we don't get a FPS every other month and that this was going to push the Wii to it's limits and all kinds of other goodies that no other developer. I wanted the game last week but now I don't know so much.

I guess it's a matter of how much time and cash the developer has...oh and talent! ;p You see, HVS spent so much time perfecting the controls, their nice little shiny effects and sound, that they forgot about the most important thing, gameplay
Oh and of course again...creativity and art direction. can the lead character(and enemies) get any more scfi generic. that crap would flied on the NES, but not in this day and age.

I completely agree.

The Game.

Is it after 9PM EST? You should probably ignore the above post.

That was a pretty sweet game. Until Arkham Asylum it was probably the best super hero game ever.

Ya, the Wii is lacking when it comes to FPS's, which is funny because 'control wise' it's the perfect system for it....Dual Analog and keyboard and Mouse are boring and cheap alternitives in comparison. Keyboard and Mouse is cheap, not engaging and in no way resembles holding a gun in real life and it's ridiuclously easy to kill anything, with an ever so slight ridiculous movement of the mouse makes head shots easier than they'd be in real life.lol Dual Analog is dated as well, and again it's not immersive or intuitive.

But ya, personaly I could care less about the Wii hardly having any FPS's because i'm not a fan of Shooters, but that's just me ;p...BUT First person 'Adventures', count me in. I love the Metroid Prime franchise. But what I'd really love to see is a First person 'Survival Horror' game on the Wii. That would be amazing....Think Resident Evil, but with deeper puzzles involving motion controls, opening cupboards, lifting up objects ect. the potential is amazing and i'm suprised nobody has done it yet. I know Silent Hill: Shattered Memories has a few puzzles where you lift up some cans and tip them over to drop out a key. i loveee stuff like that on the wii. Zack and Wiki did it very well also.

Now, I know The Conduit left many owners a bit disappointed, but I wonder how many are bashing - and I mean bashing the game without ever having spent more than 10 minutes with it, if that.

I thought it was pretty darned good. But, like it is for lots of other people, the Wii is my only console so my opinon may carry less weight because of that.

I'm still looking forward to The Grinder, but its release on the Wii won't be as special while it will inevitably look better on the more potent platforms.

I could care less if it looks better on the PS3 and 360, because the Wii Remote IR Controls make the experience sooo much better. i cant go back to dual analog or keyboard and mouse. Metroid Prime 3's controls were amazing and just so engaging and made the experience even more immersive. BUT, The Grinder is hitting in 2011....And Sony's Wand and Natal are hitting this year, so you can bet your buns that The Grinder for the PS3/360 will support both control schemes. So that said, there would be no point in getting the Wii version as it doesn't have one single advantage. I'm also a PS3 owner, so i'd most likely get it for that...But there's 'another' big BUT. If Sony doesn't release their own Nunchuck controller to go along with their Wand...then i'm a no go. Holding the Dualshock controller in one hand instead would be akward and totaly uncomfortable....it's flat out stupid. And if that's how it's going to be, I'll just get the Wii version instead.

And as for Natal...there isn't even a controller or something solid to hold on to....I guess MS wants us to point our finger and say 'Bang'

On another note, i wonder how Gladiator AD is coming along....hopefully it's hitting this year, because The Grinder is quite the ways off...

I'm waiting to see if my suggestions make it in (they did get a positive response, so I'm hopeful). This could be a brilliant game!

I already made a posts about it. Gladiator AD is now known as Tournament of Legends and comes out May 18th in the US.

YES! I'm not alone in that area. Why don't more Wii games have moments like this instead of Classic Controller support? I bought Wii for strange motion-based stuff like that, not countless retro revivals and traditional game designs.

This proves the overall lack of talent in HVS. They tout how flexible their game engine is yet they struggle to fit it within a size limit that they likely knew about when they started development. Maybe they need to build a smaller scale engine or something for WiiWare. Though I'm guessing it will go to XBLA/PSN instead.

Sellouts? I don't recall them ever saying they would never go multiplatform. They're not a very good company, but I'm not going to hold trying to make extra cash against them.

Back on topic, I doubt anyone will really care about the title a year and a half from now.

Not when it comes to The Grinder, no, but in some ways they are sellouts. For example the former Gladiator game is now a more fantasy themed title called Tournament of Legends. Why is that? Probably because Wii owners can't handle realistic and brutal games.

@brandonbwii the problem with animal's is that they keeped adding in comedy parts and they went over the limit and being pricks about it they refused to take away anything from the game so it got scraped

@thefox with the big speach they did about making wii games for wii players that no other dev's dare to make and then even saying later they are extremely pleased with the conducts sales and how everyone loves it and then go around and say" you found it the grinder will be on every system" just makes them look more two faced, and then to push the game into halloween of next year so it will ship on all the system at once is a joke nearly as big as the company maybe if they would release it halloween this year on the wii and then next on hd system

So some random dude's rant against HVS "proves" to some other random dude that HVS suffers from an "overall lack of talent in HVS." Something tells me you didn't need to be convinced, brandonbwii.

I don't understand the HATE High Voltage gets here. Is it fashionable or something? Can someone please explain it to me in big-boy words? 'Cause all I'm seeing in post 59 is "Waaaaahhh!"

Don't get me wrong, I'm actually looking forward to The Grinder. I thought Conduit was okay, yet like Donatello mentioned earlier, they so far have not shown any real imagination when it comes to overall design. All of their WiiWare releases have been sub-par as well. I don't hate HVS, I'm even been part of their fansites, I just wish they could put some spark of innovation in their work instead of saying crap like "we're filling a niche for Wii" and later go multiplatform. Fill a niche with some original content please.
