@Rexcalibr: What rank are you up to level wise? I have the stealth jump ability on my gear so no one knows where I'm landing when I jump. It can still get you killed but you also get some nice surpise kills.

As you play you will find gear to suit your playing style. Ninja squid is also a nice one for paint rollers.

@Rexcalibr: Also by the way, if you're struggling with longer ranged weapons you could try out the Dynamo Roller. It's range rivals that of the E-Liter.

Thanks for the tips. Well, I have another question. The Decepticons won the Splatfest, which was my team. Where do you go to use the snails to upgrade your gear? And is this something you can use in online modes (I'm guessing yes, but it seems like it would give certain people an unfair advantage over other people). I thought upgrading your gear was only something you could do in campaign mode.

Also now, in campaign mode when I get to a new world, before playing any of the stages I uncover all of them before entering any because this kind of is my least favorite part so I figure I should get it out of the way first thing.

C- , the lowest rank and level 14. It has shifted up and down as far as going to the next rank because I've won and lost about half the ranked matches (I've played about 8). I wish Turf Wars was ranked because I prefer that over Splat Zones.

@Rexcalibr: You go to the guy in the back alley. Once you reach level 20 you can re-roll any of your sub stats on your clothing. You can also add stats to one and 2 slot clothing to make them 3 slots.

As for the upgrading in the campaign mode that only stays there like increased fire rate. Only the stats tied to your clothing goes online.

I can't remember but you might not even be able to use him for this till you get to level 20. It's been a while.

If Splat Zones is on maps with a single zone, it's very much about protecting that single area. So those matches will be very kill-centered. For some weapons and stages, you can use the side areas to build up your special. There are more different strategies in the 2-zone Splat Zones.

You need a gear with Ninja Squid ability to super jump unseen. Or the Recon ability, to see where the enemy are before you jump. If you super jump without Ninja Squid, your landing spot is marked during the jump and any enemy in Ranked will splat you immediately on landing.

Wow! I'm really surprised to hear that the Decepticons won. I beat them in most of tonight's matches (at one point I was at "So Hawt +20.0") and even made it to level 21 in Squid Jump.

Unfortunately, the contest ended 2 points shy of me reaching the rank of Autobot Queen, but other than that, I'd say the evening went rather well.

Giving up on Rain Maker. Caused me to go from a C rank bank to a C-. I'd rather play Splat Zoner over this.

After completing the singer player mode, it's really depressing and dark. You basically take away their zapfish which powers their city/home. The Octarians needed the zapfish to survive. But it was taken away from them like if it was a silly game. Not only that, their King has been splatted, their last Zapfish was taken away from them, and they're immediately running out of power. I highly doubt the Squids will offer them a helping hand after all this time. After getting all the zapfishs, situation for the Octarians gets totally worse. Falling floating platforms, a train derailing, and near total genocide happening. Billions of Octarians getting killed. Splatoon is seriously f***** up.

So the Inklings are basically the villains?

I kind of wish you could play as an Octatian. They look the same as the inklings except their hair is more octopus tentacles than squiq-like.

I just started playing the Splatfest an hour or so ago and I chose Singing which by looks of it so far was a wise choice,we're slaughtering them.I've yet to lose a battle and the closest one so far was 73 v 21 and even in that I managed a 12v1 kdr.The thing is I've had a fair few low level players in my side while dancing for the most part has been higher levels.If the challenge or lack of continues for my next few battles I don't think I'll even bother playing as it's not much fun when it's this easy.

@NightmareEater: Actually, in the credits sequence, you see the Inklings and Octolings being friendly towards each other.

At the start of the single player campaign, the Octarians stole the great zapfish from Inkopolis, which was Inkopolis power source. Perhaps the history of the Inklings vs. Octarians is just a series of stealing the great zapfish back and forth?

@Inkling: I don't remember that. Was there a scene I skipped?

I had the feeling that Decepticons would of won the whole thing by wins. Even when I was matched against other Autobots, winning matches was a breeze compared to some of the Deception matches in which they put up a better fight. They even have the highest win% yet in any Splatfest.

Now to lick my wound and use up my 18 sea snails on slots. Makes me realize that no matter how much matches your team of 4 wins, it gets canceled out by the other team losses. It's still fun playing though but I may stop putting 10+ hours effort into it.

Yes finally won a splatfest! and it was the least popular too that makes it extra special

Just reached Singing King,I was kidding myself earlier saying I wouldn't bother.Still the lack of any sort of challenge from Team Dancing remained through the majority of my playtime.I only lost around a handful of matches,the vast majority of our wins weren't even close,Poor show Team Dancing,

The Octolings also don't have the Inkling's signature black masks around their eyes.
