@jariw: You got lucky then because I and others have had all these problems frequently this Splatfest. Connectivity Issues, Lag, AFK players and poor matchmaking. (Like level 19s getting paired with Level 2s)
@Jariw my experience was very similar to yours, only a couple connection errors in the lobby and a couple of laggy rollers but that's it. Definitely better than the last two IMO
Despite issues I still SOMEHOW through sheer will and perseverence got to North Pole Queen. Mostly because there were a couple hours late last night without many issues. (Probably because of less players...)

I don't think it's luck when it happens for many hours in a row. Are your Wii U really on a wired connection? I also encountered some bad matchmaking, but I just exited in the next lobby and joined a new team whenever that happened.
There were so many low level people in team north pole... The game insisted on putting me (lvl 23) in teams with people below level 5. South pole all had high level squids who did know how to play. These low level guys only go in squid form and swim in circles around the base. Very frustrating splatfest for me.
@Smitherenez: That's strange,I seemed to do alright with the matchmaking this time.I had some lower level players appear but for the most part we were all over 18.I'm level 26.I managed to get 3 good runs with a consistent team too.Thoroughly enjoyed this one.
First time I picked a losing side for Splatfest. Tbh I kind of knew that Marshmallow would win the popularity vote since it's more traditional to camping but I thought it would be it would be more like the last one but with an extra boost from the 4x win multiplier. Plus the least popular team tend to have sightly bigger wins, if only Hotdog had a extra 2% to win the whole thing.
Well the bright side is I still get 18 Super Snails, made it to +75.5 flags, and I went from lvl 24 to 29, so not a complete lost.

I've also noticed from all 3 Splatfest experiences that the popular vote side has the most complaints with connection errors. I played probably in more of an off time but experienced little to no problems.

That's the results for the Splatfest in.Surprisingly North Pole had the most votes 52% v 48% but South had 52% of the wins.Final result ,South wins 256 v 244 .Close!
