@Aromaiden: Least favorite is definitely Camp Triggerfish. I haven't played it on tower control yet, but I don't enjoy it in any of the other modes. Favorite is most likely Urchin Underpass. It doesn't matter which mode I'm playing, Urchin Underpass is one of those maps I always hope is in the rotation when I start up Splatoon. Walleye Warehouse is another one of my favorites, but I hate playing tower control on that map.
I love Blackberry Skatepark, Camp Triggerfish and Moray Towers a lot. The rest of the stages, except Walleye Warehouse, are OK. Walleye Warehouse is pretty annoying. The matches there can get one-sided quite quickly.
Blackbelly Skatepark is one of the most frustrating maps to play on Splat Zones. Maybe I am just having bad luck with it but every single game ends up in the most spawn campy of games. Chargers on the tower that refuse to move and can ALWAYS hit you. Bomb spam over the walls to stop you from moving. And the side path is normally guarded JUST as you move through it.
The fact you are reading this proves you are able to have an attention span longer than me. Well done sir or madam!
When Skate park gets picked im basically winning almost everytime now...Glad they didnt changed that one too much XD First time im playing camptriggerfish and i gotta say its the most fun map to be a lonewolf. Had so many matches were the enemy was never around my path.
@Koopa-King: Blackbelly can be rough because it's so small and concentrated. If the enemy team gets going it can be hard to find a good position to strike back, especially since you need to get back to the splat zones to actually do anything meaningful.
I would have never guessed Weezing was so useful until I played a HeartGold Nuzlocke! My YouTube Channel! Video game related, of course! My Pushmo Levels
@MasterWario: Even if we do get back and somehow take the zones back it would be just my like if the game goes into overtime and we are 1 point away and somehow the team steamrolls and caps both zones. (THIS HAS ACTUALLY HAPPENED)

@Koopa-King: Oh I believe it; stuff like that has happened to me before! I've also had it in my favor XD

Just got on because I wanted to play a little bit of the Splatfest for fun. It has been weeks since I have played, and it took me awhile to remember what I was doing. This was the first time I had played Camp Triggerfish, and I didn't have a clue what I was doing. I didn't see anyone on the other team the entire time (I still had one death when I jumped off the edge because I didn't know there was nothing there). Can you even get to the other side of the map before the gates open with one minute left? Because I never found a way. That map will definitely take some practice and getting used to. But I won 2 out of 3 matches to move up a rank, so there you go Team Marshmallows, I had as 67% win rate, hopefully that will help!
@Xyphon22: There is a way to get to the other side before the one minute mark: From your spawn point, go straight and turn left after the ramp. Then turn right and go up the ramp and walk on the caging. Then you're on the other team's side of the map. From there you can go to the other side of your base (the side that you can access easily after the one minute mark), or ink the enemy's base. Sorry if this is confusing, the whole map is confusing!
@BurningSonic: Aww man that's awful! That's why I like to do Splatfest the night of. That really stinks, I don't even know what I would feel...

I think the scoring changes are at least a significant improvement over what it was. The win percentage was barely different in this case. If hot dogs had a 54% or greater win percentage instead of 52% they would have won.
EDIT: I guess one thing to note is that the other NA splatfests wouldn't have changed results even with the new system. So I don't know. This was my first time playing on the popular team and I can kind of see why they want to give you some sort of incentive. I definitely didn't enjoy having so many same team vs team battles. Still maybe it should just be win percentage, unless it can be proven smaller teams have some sort of advantage... which I don't think is the case looking at all the splatfest results.
@NintyMan I would say that the North pole is the more popular option but I think south pole will win based on wins (obviously based on my own experience, I wonder if anyone thinks differently) . Got to South Pole king pretty swiftly and levelled up a couple times in the process!
Now I wonder how Europe's Battle of the Poles went?
Popularity-wise, I'm sure North Pole has more votes. The European Splatfest end in about 5 hours.
Some things I noticed with the current Splatfest (after working my way up to South Pole Queen):
The connection issues during the Splatfest were much improved compared to the 2 previous Splatfests.
Occasional connection errors happened in the lobby, while connecting to the other team. I never encountered any connection errors during matches.
I only encountered one player with seriously lag during the whole Splatfest.
The Splatfest teams are absolutely set up with match making. I rarely had players below level 20 in my teams (some matches were only level 24+ players). When one of my kids played (level 17), the players were on much lower levels and very rarely above 20. However, sometimes high-level teams were matched agains a low-level team.
To me, playing with the same random team for many matches in a row were fantastic, when the matchmaking worked. Great fun!
