@Blue_Blur Ah, DK Mountain. That brings back happy memories of Mario Kart Wii. I'm really hoping for that. Wario Colosseum would be spectacular to see done on 8. For some reason, I prefer the Retro remasters in the DLC cups to the new ones (I count the F-Zero tracks as Remasters. XD). I'd also love another Bowser Castle, preferably the Wii one.
@TheXReturns: facepalms How did I forget that DK Mountain was already in Wii? I've must have raced on that course a thousands times... Even with it already being in Wii, I would still really like it to appear again in MK8. Wario Colosseum is the one I would like to see the most, though. Depends on the course for me, but sometimes I prefer the retro courses as well. But not Cheeseland! lol XD For the new courses, I love Dragon Driftway!
@Blue_Blur I'd love to see DK Mountain and Wario Colosseum from the GC, Bowser Castle and Maple Treeway from the Wii and also possibly Rock Rock Mountain from the 3DS. Those'd all be great.
DK Mountain and Bowser Castle being the most important. Those two were my favourites, alongside Grumble Volcano, back on the Wii. XD
In terms of Characters, Bowser Jr. and Diddy were criminally left out, and really deserve to be back. Other than that, I really don't mind who the put in. I've found my perfect characters in Link and Rosalina, and my ideal setup for the sportsbikes.
@TheXReturns: Grumble Volcano is one of my favorites, too!
And yeah, Bowser Jr. and Diddy should've been in the roster in the first place. ...Was Pink Gold Peach or Baby Rosalina really necessary? I would love for King Boo and Petey Piranha to be back, as well. I think it was for MK Wii, but I remember reading that someone found coding for Paratroopa to be playable, and I would also love for that to happen!
But let's face it, even if all those characters were added, we all know I would still be Luigi.

A key thing to remember is the 2 Double Dash courses and the one Super Mario Kart course in the already existing DLC packs were already used as a retro track before MK8 (Yoshi Circuit and Baby Park were in MKDS and SNES Rainbow Road was in MK7).
@Grumblevolcano A proper battle mode and 2 more cups would be great...but it probably is just saying don't crash the hype train for the new Callie / Marie (Kalimari) Amiibo
I never drive faster than I can see. Besides, it's all in the reflexes.
@Mister_Wu Toon Link and Tetra are part of the Legends Character Pack which releases in the summer for Wii U owners who didn't buy Legends. Could be Hyrule Warriors Wii U related.
Actually no, it's most likely Zelda U because of the hashtag logic. Still I do imagine Hyrule Warriors appearing somewhat in E3.
OK, you guys... I think you're all setting yourselves for disappointment. I'm very sure that MK8 tweet was just one of the funny jokes Nintendo usually make on their social media pages, even though it was based on a Nintendo 64 game. I don't see how it means that more DLC might be coming soon. Maybe we WILL get DLC, but it won't be teased by a tweet like that. And now there are posts on the previous page about a Wind Waker tweet and Zelda U.
Don't get me wrong... I'd like some more DLC (although its a bit disappointing that we're looking forward to DLC rather than new games or something), but let's not get ahead of ourselves because of a random MK64-based tweet (I still don't get the hype behind it)...
@Tsurii Ha. I don't really care what we get, IF we do end up getting some new content. I have my perfect combination now, so any other characters would just be superfluous. In terms of tracks, I'd like for DK Mountain to return, but I know that it prolly won't happen. XD
Honestly, if they do more DLC, they'll prolly redo several retro tracks already used, to save the rest of the retro tracks for the inevitable MK9.
I have no idea where they'll go with MK9. I hope they don't go down SAASRT's path of having tracks that change each lap, which, whilst cool, mean that you can't memorize the track as easily. I still know MKWii's Rainbow Road off by heart, whereas SAASRT's House of the Dead? Far less so. (I picked that one because A, it's one of the few I can remember without looking it up, and B, it's the one I remember changed every lap.)
I guess we just have to take Nintendo as it comes. Occasionally, it can be brilliant. Other times, absolutely awful. Nintendo gives us innovation, whether we like the way it works or not. People criticize Nintendo for innovating stuff (Starfox Zero's Motion Controls), and then they moan about getting the same content time after time. (New Super Mario Bros. post the Wii version)
Personally, I rather like Nintendo to be more innovative. Sometimes, it really works, and produces an absolutely amazing game. (I'm gonna be slightly controversial and say Skyward Sword, as I loved the control scheme, and it really worked for me. And even though I hate the Imprisoned as a fight, I admire the innovation behind not keeping main bosses in dungeons. (Big Octo from Wind Waker, and the Twilight Bloat from Twilight Princess feel more like Minibosses to me.))
But yeah. My hopes are raised, but I'm kinda expecting them to be lowered again.

I agree! Reusing the same retro tracks give us more hope for DK Mountain to return again! XD
And I don't really like that House of Dead track either... The one I hate the most due to the track changing every lap is Burning Depths. I can never remember which way to turn in the hallways, much less see which way I'm supposed to turn before getting really close to the wall. If MK8 should copy something from SASART, let it be the battle mode! I think the ghost battle mode is a clever and well done idea.
I know it's Sonic Generations bias (seriously one of my favourite last gen games) but my favourite course is Sanctuary Falls. The faster Sonic Generations gets on XB1 backwards compatibility the better.
There's only two possible explanations for that tweet: DLC incoming; or flat-out deliberate troll.
The idea that this is some innocent joke with an incidental reference to MK8 is nonsense.
Nintendo said more than once over the last approx. 12 months that they would look to leverage the value in the install base of the evergreen titles, so anyone with any love for Mario Kart 8 has been waiting for some more DLC ever since.
