@Zuljaras Any particular reason you don't keep it online?

I really enjoy the snappiness and features of my series console. Quick resume might be the most under appreciated gaming feature.

@dmcc0 Yes. I detest gaming devices that rely on internet connection so much. The initial setup of the Xbox One/Series is the worst I have ever witnessed.

The new PS5 with the detachable disc drive is next in line with the server authentication pairing for its disc drive.

Also, single player games that want you to connect to a server are pathetic.

@Zuljaras yeah, setting up the Series S was a bit of a pain. I remember the X being easier (or at least less of a pain), but maybe it was just because I knew what to expect.

I've don't mind the console being online that much to be honest. With the amount of of updates etc that modern games get and the fact even physical Xbox games usually need a download anyway it doesn't bother me too much.

Having to log in for single player games needs to stop though.

@dmcc0 I thought that online connection on Series X with a disc is only for Xbox One games as they require a configuration patch that is really small.

For Series X only exclusive games you don't need the initial online connectivity? (unless it is one of the idiotic releases like Hogwarts Legacy, Fallen Order, Last Jedi etc.)

@Zuljaras I was under the impression that when a physical game was playable on One and Series X (so called Smart Delivery) it was the Xbox one version on the disc and the Series version was downloaded. Could be wrong though - I've only got a few discs and it's a while since I played a physical on The Series X

@dmcc0 The bottom line for me is that the game is unplayable if you do not download the configuration from the MS servers

2013 was terrible year for Xbox I don't even know why they sign contracts with Limited Run Games

Owning XBOX ONE and XBOX Series X are really painful, right?
The machines are need constantly get connected online and way more complicated to play offline games than PS4 / PS5.
I think I changed my mind completely after I heard the frustration of owning those XBOX machines when I don't play them for quite long and being offline.
That's why I have PS4 machine and will add PS5 machine.

Perfect Dark is giving me James Bond-flavored Dying Light vibes.

Or Prey 2...before that was cancelled.

Indy, perfect dark, doom, GoW, even vowed, all look really good. Going to be a good 18 months on xbox, that's for sure.

Recently, I boxed my XBOX 360 RGH after I got PS5 Fat machine as I thought the RGH modded helped me to bypass all the region but some of XBOX 360 games cannot be detected even by using original disc.
I still wait the right time to get XBOX 360 Slim E machine in original condition and NTSC-J region so I can start again playing my XBOX 360 games with relief feeling.

@NintendoByNature It was a tremendous showcase in fairness, and really great news for anyone with Gamepass (probably most XB owners) - so many big hitters coming Day1 to GP

@CJD87 yep. I'll be busy on xbox come September through 2025. All good stuff for sure. I'd say I'm most excited for indiana jones though. Then gears of war.

Forza Horizon 4 is being delisted in December.

Suppose I should add it to my wishlist and get a digital copy on deep discount soon here.

With the Xbox 360 store closing today, I managed to grab a few things beforehand.

Most importantly...Lost Odyssey on deep discount.

If you're an rpg fan, it was the one worth owning a 360 to play.

I genuinely cannot express with words how happy I am. Hifi Rush is easily a top 3 game of all time for me. Now the team still has jobs and they can make a sequel now. Let's freaking go!!!

That news was pretty much welcome and a big surprise. Glad to see that Tango is back and that they can now expand on Hi-Fi Rush! Lets hope that things go well for them.

Anyway, have any of you been playing the Xbox alongside the Switch? I have found myself gaming on Xbox way more frequently before I get busier soon. I've still been playing the heck out of Rare Replay, and I got to a big achievement number on there! I am a bit far away from getting 100%, I think I have 98 achievements left, but I am already happy with the progress I have made on there. I am super satisfied with the progress, mostly cuz a lot of them came from super annoying and infuriating short challenges called snapshots. The snapshots for Underwurlde were awful, maybe the worst game included in that package, but hey, it was super satisfying to get achievements from that joyless experience of a game! I am close to filling out a stamp card, so I am very close to unlocking some more videos and content in the game. I'll try to see if I can get a newer, upgraded stamp card soon. The extras included alongside the games are super interesting.

I am considering getting the $1.00 Ultimate for 14 days deal, but I don't know when I'll get it, and I don't know how frequently I'd use it in those two weeks. I love Game Pass and think it has good value, but those price hikes are a no from me unfortunately.
