Subtitled version. Genbu looks terrifying in this game, lol.

@Snaplocket Yeaaaah... That was my first title back on DS and sounds like how I remember it. The end of the game was just... Meh.

With english subs.

@Snaplocket From what I've seen, I don't expect to like it as much as the other games when I get around to playing it.

It's interesting how there's just ambient noise until the player actually starts attacking.

@Snaplocket @DomGC Eh. It was much more low-key, but you definitely heard actual music before battles in IV/IV:A. It also plays during negotiations.

This is more like environmental noise.

Girimekhala is somehow smaller than I imagined he would be.

@DomGC The negotiation music is interesting. Although, admittedly, I do prefer the music from IV in that regard.

SMT III, Matador, talk about a tough boss. I understand all the memes now, lol. Even with a couple demons with drain force affinity in my party, it isn't enough to get by. Looks as though I'll have to grind out better demons with better skills in order to progress.

Brutal.

SMT IV wasn't this tough and I hope SMT V will be a bit more...flexible.

Has this been posted? It's Japanese footage. Almost 30 straight minutes of pure gameplay. I LOVE how the Daemons hang like bats in caves and dens when they're resting.

@Magician Funny. I found SMT IV's Minotaur to be a much bigger roadblock for me, personally.

I found Matador to be pretty easy to beat if you already know the trick behind him (I beat him first try in the HD Remaster), whereas the Minotaur's attacks seem to have high critical chances, which means his attacks frequently trigger a smirk, which means more damage and more critical hits on your characters.

Also, you're screwed if Walter is your ally during the fight.

Anyway, for Matador, I'd recommend getting demons that know media and sukukaja/sukunda. Basically, increase your agility and decrease his accuracy, and he'll miss the majority of his attacks. If Demifiend knows fog breath, then even better.

EDIT:

New demon video is for Horus. w/subs.

Not being able to fuse everywhere isn't really a deal breaker for me. Persona games don't let you fuse everywhere.

"It is fate. Many have tried, yet none have ever managed to escape it's flow."

Ralizah

@Snaplocket I didn't think anyone expected to be able to fuse anywhere since the Cathedral of Shadows is an actual place in this, as opposed to fusions being integrated into a demon summoning program. The complete lack of technology is going to alter the game design. With that said, doorways to the Cathedral don't seem to be tethered to settlements and dungeons like in Nocturne, so I'd expect them to be fairly plentiful across the map. Also, this isn't a dungeon crawler like SJ, so there's not much of a need to be able to fuse anywhere.

Rangda! And she looks as creepy as ever. Looks like Arahabaki is tomorrow's demon.

I do love the "who's that Pokemon?" vibe of these reveals.
