@JaxonH yep, all great stuff. I already bought it prior to seeing the switch up review. Haven't played it yet, but I fully trust their opinion, so I have no doubt it'll be great when I fire it up tonight
Is Red Dead Redemption worth the money to saomeone who hasn't played it? I've seen a lot of hate about the price tag. To me, it seems standard to sell a game at that price to a new audience and then for it to become gradually cheaper like everywhere else. But unfortunately, the most vocal crowd are the ones who have already played it and think it's not worth $50 for them to buy it AGAIN (hahaha crazy I know!) It's old to them and they shouldn't have to spend that money on re-purchasing it. But that just leads me to wonder if the game isn't a classic. I'm not into GTA myself, but this looks much more interesting. Dunno.
I never drive faster than I can see. Besides, it's all in the reflexes.
@GrailUK I suppose that depends on how much you enjoy the genre. I would argue that RDR is the best series of cowboy games. Experiencing the world of early to late 1800s midwest Murica. It's the Dollars trilogy only in video game form.
@GrailUK Just be aware that it plays just like a GTA game. It has good writing and voicework, and nice scenery, but if you're tired of the GTA model then it might feel a bit too similar.
You guys had me at blood and semen.
What better way to celebrate than firing something out of the pipe?
@gcunit
Well, you ride a horse in that game, not that Horse guy from Everybody 1-2-Switch. 😆
Moreover you can unlock Unicorn in the game. 🦄
Take my little pony with me somewhere over the rainbow...
The price criticism stems mainly from PS gamers. And I can understand. The PS4 is capable of a remastered version. But I think the criticisms fall apart for the Switch version. The best looking and performing Switch games are always straight ports of 7th gen AAA. It looks as good as it possibly can on Switch, it's native 1080 without dynamic drops, flawless 30 with perfect pacing, load times are faster than PS4 version and 3x faster than the 7th gen version, it has a reasonable file size, expansion included and physical has it all on cart.
We've seen what happens when 7th gen games get Remastered for Switch, like Alan Wake Remastered. 480p with 20fps drops, a downright horrible experience. Despite the 360 version looking twice as good as the remastered Switch version with better resolution and performance.
So for Switch specifically, this is the ideal port. For PS.... sure, they could have done more with it.
Ppl always say, "if they'd have released a quality port with high res and solid framerate with fast load times and all on cart I'd gladly pay more", but then when we get that, suddenly it's a mass case of amnesia.
Still, in the end it always comes down to how each individual values something. But personally, I'll always pay more for high quality on Switch, especially given how many subpar releases there are.
Psalms 22:16 (1,000 yrs before Christ)
They pierced My hands and feet
Isaiah 53:5 (700 yrs before Christ)
He was pierced for our transgressions
Zachariah 12:10 (500 yrs before Christ)
They will look on Me whom they pierced
Trying not to buy anything else while I still have this massive backlog, but I don't think I can resist a Switch version of Vampire Survivors. One of the most addictive games ever made.
Besides, now I can play it co-op with people!
Currently Playing: Metroid Prime 4: Beyond (NS2); Corpse Factory (PC)
@NintendoByNature I played it via PC GP. It's a little slow to start, but the rate at which you progress is great. There's so much to unlock. So many secrets.
@Magician lol forget the ships, was Adol using wirebugs?! (around 45 seconds in)
Is that the one about the organ player who travels from settlement to settlement, building a following through his playing and helpful deeds, or is it the one about the two children exploring a bewitched forest and you end up having to sacrifice organs along the route to find your way back again?
PS. Vampire Survivors is only about £1.80 on the S.African eshop if you haven't jumped on the hype yet.
Been looking through some of the Switch games on my radar, some older games that I skipped out on at the time and a few upcoming ones too, which I might bring up on here in the future.
One of which being Sonic Frontiers.
I remember around the time of its release that the Switch version suffered from a good dollop of glitches and the overall experience being a little weaker compared to other platforms.
From anyone who's played it recently, has the game improved much through patches?
