Dying Light Platinum Edition for Switch confirmed!

This game is going to be great in handheld mode on Switch Lite. I have it on Steam and it's pretty fluid.

Ooh. The night time segments will look especially nice on the Switch OLED with inky blacks.

@Magician I guess that's a fair point but if it ain't coming to Xbox One I have my doubts. The PS4 is already more powerful technically than the base XB1 and the Switch is even less powerful than that. It's using UE4 which is clearly something Switch has no trouble handling based on even SamSho using that same engine among a bunch of other third party games, but the platform rollout for this particular game, especially for such a big name fighting game series is confusing to say the least

Part of me thinks the lack of an XB1 version despite a PS4 version has to somehow do with Sony's leverage in the FGC now that they also own EVO and the games in this year's lineup all happened to either be fighting games on PlayStation or even PlayStation-exclusive

@TheFrenchiestFry Oh yeah, is Smash permanently gone from EVO now since Sony owns it? Kinda sad for that scene to be excluded if that's the case.

@link3710 The press release did state that Sony's shared ownership over the tournament didn't exclude games on non-Sony platforms from being included, but for multi-platform games for example, the PlayStation versions are now the permanent tournament standard, and nothing's really been said from either Microsoft or Nintendo regarding the fate of games like Smash Bros. or Killer Instinct returning to EVO beyond the fact they're "exploring options"

I don't know if Nintendo would exactly be comfortable however, with the prospect of a Smash tournament filled with advertisements like "Sponsored by Sony Interactive Entertainment" or plugs for the PS5

@TheFrenchiestFry Dang no KI either... I didn't watch EVO this year because none of the games really interested me (except maaaaybe SkullGirls, that can be fun to watch), but I didn't realize it was basically gone for good as it used to be. Pretty sad to realize. With FighterZ out of the scene as well, I might just stop watching EVO moving forward altogether.

@link3710 FighterZ was there this year I'm pretty sure. It was as a side tournament game but it was there

Arlo really seems to like No More Heroes 3 despite apparently having no interest beforehand. That sold me on buying the digital version this morning.

Also, the Akuma crossover content is now live in Monster Hunter Rise.

I'm gonna see if I can't get the layered armor while at work today, but I may not have time. Gotta research quaternions for coordinate system rotations without using Euler Angles or 3x3 rotation matrix multiplication. Apparently they're 4 dimensional numbers with 3 imaginary components. This should be fun.

@JaxonH Surprising to see that Arlo likes it. I know he got way into stuff like DOOM but I just thought Suda51 was way too out there stylistically and narratively to suit his tastes. Didn't expect him to dig a protagonist like Travis Touchdown since he seemed to value way more in-depth narratives in his games typically

Ya, I tend to like the same games he likes, he just doesn't branch out into as many games as I do. But like he said in his review video, sometimes you just gotta jump in and try a game out, even if you initially think it's not for you.

Which I totally agree with. So many games I initially wrote off or had no interest in, but after playing by some circumstance or another, ended up loving. And yet others I was so sure I'd like, I ended up not gelling with.

This is why I try to play as many games as possible. You never really know which games are the ones you're gonna hit it off with.

Has anybody spun up kings bounty II yet? I want it but not sure if I wanna buy it full price or not.

I'm not a big spoiler guy. Usually I don't give a crap one way or another. But there's so much killer stuff shown in that trailer, I'd say if you're already sold on the game, just hold off.

If you're not sold on the game though, you probably will be after watching.

@JaxonH I was sold and yet I watched the trailer. But I don't really mind, I like knowing the plot, the moveset, etc of games to prepare.
