This isn't even a diss against Switch 2, but it is funny that I'm so far interested in 5 games this year, and 3 of them are on Switch 1. And one of the other two isn't confirmed for any Nintendo system.
I am now at 6 and 4, Castlevania is only confirmed for Switch 1 lolololol, I made the absolute right choice not upgrading, go me.
I was like this with the wii u when the Switch came out as so many Switch games were just ports from wii u and I didn't like the joycons for controlling games either attached or forming a joystick. Wii u felt better controlling games so I was a later buyer of the Switch 1. The only issue I guess is RAMageddon where Switch 2 prices and other hardware prices may be going up so Switch 2 will become even more expensive in the coming months. I played the demo f Donkey Kong Bonanza on my Switch 2 and felt like it was a good game but not a great game and never worth the £60 they are charging. A lot of pricing on Switch 2 is ridiculous. Fallout 4 Anniversary for £60 when the Creation content is pretty much worthless and the only difference with the game of year edition you can get for £9 on PC.
As a portable console I still find I'm taking my Switch Lite out with me more. It's smaller, the battery lasts longer and it feels more comfortable in the hand. I'm using the Switch 2 almost exclusively as a portable but just around the house really. I think my favourite Switch console is still the Switch Lite to be honest just because its a much better portable console and the screen looks fantastic, better than Switch 2 to be honest.

This was the saving grace of not upgrading at that time, along with having somehow been able to keep three different Wii U games for my backlog all the way until 2018. (BOTW, Deus Ex, Tokyo Mirage Sessions)
Played through DoDonPach DaiOuJou Blissful Death yesterday which is a super-great experience after the disappointment that is Triggerheart Exelica. So I fired up Kowloon Highschool Chronicle for the first time. And...what is the game? Dungeon crawler / adventure / visual novel / relationship sim...all rolled into one game?
It's a bit much.
Switch Physical Collection - 1,551 games (as of March 3rd, 2026)
Switch 2 Physical Collection - 4 games (as of December 8th, 2025)
Below is an image of Rouge, one of the new Goddess characters in the upcoming mainline Neptunia game, Neptunia Unlimited, which comes out on both Switch 1 and 2 (as well as PS4 and PS5) on August 27th, 2026 in Japan (no conformation of an American release yet, though whether it will release on the current Nintendo of America platform, which has canceled many game releases like Neptunia since the fall of 2024, is debatable). She's based on the Nintendo Switch, which is why I am sharing her here. I might dump some gameplay footage photos JaxonH style later if I have the time.
My top 5 favorite games:
1: Hyperdimension Neptunia Re;Birth1
2: Pokémon Violet
3: Super Smash Bros. Ultimate
4: The Legend of Zelda Link's Awakening (2019)
5: Animal Crossing New Horizons

Alright, here's that photo dump: there is so much interesting stuff about this game:
You can transform into a goddess while exploring and when you do so, you can fly around the world map, which looks... openworld, maybe?
Action combat is back just like the more recent spin-offs, and since you can fly as a goddess, you can do some aerial combat, a series first. The aerial combat looks incredible, and it blew my mind when I watched it in the trailer.
Also, while I'm not a graphics snob, I have to admit, the graphics look amazing, the Neptunia games have definitely gotten more graphically advanced over the years.
