If Clair Obscur hadn't released, The Hundred Line would be the highest rated rpg of the year so far.

Which one will sell better? The French-slick rpg that's being touted as a generational experience? Or the Danganronpa-flavored tactical rpg? Either way, as always it seems, rpg fans are eating good out here.

@Magician At least on metacritic, Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, Xenoblade X, and monster hunter wilds are higher. But yeah, a lot of big RPGs this year so far although many aren't on Switch 1 of course.

I prefer to reference Opencritic over Metacritic (although, same difference, so it's whatever), but yeah KC: D II and Wilds are coming in higher. I'm just being conversational.

I preordered The Hundred Line. It wasn't even on my radar until I started reading reviews and then I watched a video on it and it actually looks really interesting. 100 different endings is wild to me.

Psalms 22:16 (1,000 yrs before Christ)
They pierced My hands and feet
Isaiah 53:5 (700 yrs before Christ)
He was pierced for our transgressions
Zachariah 12:10 (500 yrs before Christ)
They will look on Me whom they pierced

So I am wondering with the Switch 2 coming out will it be easier and maybe cheaper to get a dock for the original Switch? I still want another one to hook up to my front room TV. I imagine you won't be able to use a Switch 2 dock with the original Switch unless I missed something.

I figure with everyone trading in their original Switch to get a Switch 2 there's bound to be alot of them around.

FYI: The recent Switch update (20.0.0) has made it much harder to share a single digital game with a family member across two switches. Previously you could play the same game on two Switches at the same time as long as one had an internet account. Which meant you could even play (some) online games together, buying only one copy of a game. The new virtual game card system blocks that, regardless of whether you turn on the new online license settings or not. It simply boots one person off the game if the other opens it.

There is a partial workaround by having online license on one Switch and have the virtual game card on the second switch while it is disconnected from the internet. This would let two people in a family play e.g. one copy of zelda at the same time but obviously blocks online play.

Besides that major drawback, the virtual game card system seems much saner and easier to use than the old system. And I have no idea why you wouldn't turn on online license unless you were worried about accidentally bumping your family member off a game. The new system also (I would guess) makes it much easier to accurately track playtime across multiple Switches.

@Eel
If you can hide the shovelwares from eshop page, is there any way to highlight them instead?
I want to highlight some shovelwares that aren't really that bad.

The wicked die alone...

@Anti-Matter it’s not on the eShop, it’s on the digital game card shelf/menu on the switch menu.

Say for example you got a free digital game you never really intended to play or bought something for cheap that you played once and then never again, and don’t think you’ll want to play again anyway. That’s the shovelware I’m talking about.

If you’d rather proudly display them, more power to you, you can install them on your switch from that same menu. It’s a lot easier to find stuff now compared to the old “redownload” page from the eShop.

I just noticed something about the new update. So, I don't like having automatic save data cloud backup, I prefer manually doing it just in case something terrible happens to my game or what have you. When I go to back up my save data, it now defaults to "download save data" instead of "back up save data." I know it's minor, but it kind of bothers me, lol. There is a nice sound effect when your save is backed up, though. But only when you're in the save data backup screen. Just wanted to share what I've discovered with you folks.

Little recommendation here. If you haven't played High on Life yet, it comes out in a couple days and it's a banger. I'm not into the fps genre that much at this stage of my life, and it had me hooked. Not sure how performance will be though, so keep an eye out

The dream of Switch beating PS2 may be fading since sales still haven't even passed DS yet. Nintendo forecasts 4.5 million units sold for their 2026 fiscal year which (if true) will still be 156 million rather than 160 in a year.

@FishyS hilariously that 4.5m would have passed the PS2 if Sony didn't somehow make another 5m in 2012 when they last reported hard numbers, and 2013 when they confirmed the PS2 was discontinued, which they revealed last year put them "over 160m".

Nothing's happened yet which makes me feel the teased Switch 1 news could be Splatoon related as for Splatoon 3 to have a Splatfest in May, it needs to be announced by the end of this week (there's a 2 week gap between announcement and the event happening).

@FishyS
Don't think that's true. 4.5m essentially puts Switch at 157m by March 2026. Let's say it does another 2.5m by March 2027. That's 159.5m. And let's estimate 1.5m through March 2028.

Its gonna top PS2. Just barely... but it's gonna do it. Especially when the inevitable price cuts come and they're selling $99 Switch Lites on Black Friday.
