Ghostbusters actually looks great! Pretty big step up from the PS3 version (the difference in resolution was most noticeable to me- it was really blurry on PS3 for some reason, but it’s super crisp on Switch).

And Gamestop’s Website is finally applying free shipping properly now for $35+ purchases, so I was able to grab it on cart (GS exclusive for $29.99, so you have to bundle something else with it to get the free shipping).

Also, Biomutant is now listed on Gamestop’s site as well, with preorders being taken.

@Grumblevolcano
Agreed. Anyone who likes their games all on cart- Witcher 3 is the best opportunity to support that.

@JaxonH I'm pretty sure other devs will be watching Witcher 3's sales closely. If it does well then it tells them people prefer everything on the cart meanwhile if it doesn't it tells them people are ok with the partial download.

If it does well in comparison to....?
All the people that buy whatever other games on cart that do require downloads as well would probably have preferred they were all on cart.
There are those who prefer digital, as well.

I'm on the fence for Witcher 3. I don't play a lot handheld lately and this seems like a release that would benefit from the extra power of the PS4. Besides that, it's dirt cheap there.

I've been meaning to play it sometime though, it was on my list even before it was announced to Switch.

I think I'm just gonna wait until dec/jan when I'm done with my backlog and then decide what I'll do. Having the game on a cart is definitely a nice bonus though.

Quick shoutout to Sniper Elite III. Full game + all DLC on cart, includes gyro, full 1080p docked / 720p handheld and smooth performance. Game looks incredible on the handheld screen, gyro works wonderfully for fine tuning while sniping... A+ release all the way.

Games like this are games I want in my library. A high-quality, high res shooter with gyro is always nice to have as an option. Sometimes you just feel like shooting stuff, and when you feel like shooting stuff it’s always great to shoot using gyro.

Been bringing my Switch Lite to work every single day now that it can fit in my sweatshirt’s big middle pocket without it feeling like a cinderblock inside. Dragon Quest XI S every day and some Ori.

But Witcher 3 is also a long game. I’ll be playing that at work every day too, try to get at least 20-30 min in every day. That’s a few hours each week, plus time spent playing at home.

I think that’s the point he’s making. How many people still buy the game anyways even if they would prefer it all on cart, versus how many actually just don’t buy the game. The standard with which to compare is the real issue, but in a general sense if the physical version sells really well, exceeds their expectations (or least doesn’t miss their expectations), or if it doesn’t, either way it’s going to send a message.

That's probably about what they'd compare to, @Grumblevolcano .... In which case, I think it'll do better! Still enough gamers who like physical, especially on Switch to help that side! I only just finished main story before dlc on my XBox 1.
I'll do a replay, with a few different choices, then do dlc parts

I play mostly handheld AND I've never actually played Witcher III (I played the first one back in the day). Purchase is a day one for me.

Never played TW3 either. Given how big and demanding a game it is, though, I think it's going to be very funny playing it on the relatively diminutive Switch Lite (surprisingly, the thing actually fits in the themed cloth sacks I have for the 3DS, so I'll be carrying it around in my DQVIII one).

The Witcher 3... on a dedicated handheld! Technology is pretty cool.

I'm skipping Witcher 3 since I really hated my time playing it. Everything about the game is high quality except for the combat and movement. Geralt controls like ass, the combat sucks, and it gave off an extremely clunky feeling. And that's on PC at 60fps.

Metroid, Xenoblade, EarthBound shill

I run a YouTube/Twitch channel for fun. Check me out if you want to!

Please let me know before you send me a FC request, thanks.

I did play through TW3 a few years ago. I think I put over 200 hours into it. Having it on Switch is pretty cool, and I kinda want to buy it for having it all on a card, but I don't know if I have the time to play through it again.

Combat was Witcher 3's weakest link, for sure.

However, it's all relative. Combat owns in Witcher compared to games like Skyrim, and millions of people love Skyrim to death (my coworker literally bought a Switch just to have Skyrim on handheld + console, and I see he's put well over 1,000 hrs in since, and he told me he'd played it before).

Kinda feels like Assassins Creed combat. Very realism focused. It's not that its bad. It just isn't standout.

But given how good people say the game is overall, I'm willing to tolerate combat being the one area that's "decent" rather than "spectacular" if I get to play it anywhere I want. And I did play several hrs of it, but it's hard to keep my attention with games that aren't mobile. It's nearly 2020 after all. Everything is mobile nowadays. Gaming should be too.

@JaxonH I'm pretty sure you get paid by the handheld interest group at point, how else can you afford all those games

''It's not that its bad. It just isn't standout.''

But yeah, this is true. It is not bad at all, just not as good as most of the other elements of the game. I did focus on the signs, and I had quite a bit of fun. Though, be wary of any enemies/bosses that resist those kind of attacks. Gwent is brilliant too, but I'm not sure if I can go back to TW3 Gwent now that I've played a fair amount of the online card game; and Thronebreaker of course.

TW3 combat was a tad boring. Once you unlock the bolt deflect passive and learned the spell that blocks one hit before recasting is required, you were almost never in danger. It became less difficult than the Batman Arkham games. However, I do enjoy the human decapitation animations. It's as though Geralt would be right at home in a Mortal Kombat game, gloriously gory.

@Magician Close range combat in TW3 is really clunky and jittery imo. The really inept A.I. for enemies doesn't help it either, especially when using long ranged weapons like the bow and arrows from afar, where they just dont notice you at all upon being hit.

Mercenary wings LRG upcoming release worth it? I never played it myself.

It's an average series of strategy rpg games. There are better options in the genre on Switch. The Banner Saga, the Disgaea series, Fell Seal: Arbiter's Mark, etc. The LRG release is skippable if you aren't a collector.
