@Ralizah I'm indifferent to horror since I haven't really dabbled into it so I can'treally say either way, but I'm always down for a strong sense of atmosphere. I'm all about that sense of mood in any game.

@Ralizah Interesting, I've never really found Super Metroid particularly dreary or depressing. Not close to Hollow Knight. I mean it's all in shades of purple with victorian/gothic elements in an all subterranian ruin of a lost civilization. Super Metroid is also on ruins, but it's exploring an alien cave while pirates are after you....it feels a little more urgent due to external factors than the "we have all eternity to rot away in a cave like everything else here" that HK exudes. In Metroid, people are shooting at you, or, rather, it's implied that if you don't hurry, they soon will be.... People often talk about the solitude of Metroid, but I never really saw it. The solitude is a brief respite before your pursuers find you!
@EvilLucario Bloodborne drops you into a world, tells you nothing about anything, the hub makes zero sense, it offers no suggestion as to what you're supposed to do or why or really what the structure of the world is, just figuring out what on earth you're supposed to do upon respawning isn't explained and makes no sense.
I tend to follow more linear thought processes of building from the basics outward. Not looking at a bowl of pea soup and trying to figure out not only how to make a canoe out of it, but that I was supposed to somehow know that I needed to build a canoe out of it in the first place.
@EvilLucario I hope at least the Torna DLC and the inevitable XCX port for Switch have better tutorials than what you're saying about the Wii U version of XCX.
@Grumblevolcano Xenoblade X just needs a better manual and better instructions. The manual for X was flat out awful, where figuring out how to properly use Overdrive was a royal pain in the ass.
Torna better be improving tutorials too. Since it'll also play slightly differently from the base game, that'll be important to have.

@EvilLucario Forget the tutorials, Torna needs to fix/remove the RNG character encounters/quest activation/field skill junk. I realize the game should be a very short, small game compared to the main game, and yet, it really needs that improvement (and I'm not sure how the original idea got off the design floor as implemented.) I'm still hoping beyond hope the redesign allowing playable blades fixes character progression. Monolith has such a strength at world building, storytelling, character development. They're even decent at combat systems. But they are unquestionably dismal when it comes to character progression mechanics, questing, and hooks. I would legit take FFXIII over some of the funky design choices Monolith makes. At least on rails you're still moving forward.

Ouch lmao
From what I remember there won't be bonding with Blades and much field skills though. There's only three party members total with only 2 Blades max after all.
I think MCC may have set a new record for the largest update ever, 73.7GB. You're not getting anywhere close to that number on Switch even with the increase of partial physical versions.
They want games to fit on Blu-Rays and be 4k, it's not happening, not even on UHD Blu-Ray.
Swear to God, people moan about Switch games not being all on cart but discs have been doing this for years because it's simply unfeasible and even then they install anyway.
The PS5 and Xbox....fgruvubvuber need to come with 10TB HDDs minimum. You can barely fit a decent selection of games on a One X.

I'll help you out.
You wander around aimlessly through empty Victorian streets looking for lamps so you can level up before you lose all of your souls. You repeat this process ad nauseam. Occasionally you come across a boss who you're supposed to kill for no apparent reason. Once in a great while, you'll come across another intelligent being who proceeds to utter cryptic nonsense. Between divining what those mean and intuiting the "lore" of the world from item descriptions (because, as I've discovered, you don't need a comprehensible plot when you have LOOOOOOOOOOOOORE to keep you goin'), you experience the thrilling plot. Or, more likely, you watch "lore videos" made by bored youtubers because no normal person has the time to try and piece this pretentious nonsense together and then run around the internet talking about this game's "amazing lore," automatically giving you internet cred as a pro gamer.
@Knuckles-Fajita@Octane It is just the update, MCC was already a drain on hard drive space before this update. Really puts the Switch situation in context, stuff like the 8GB DOOM multiplayer update is nothing in comparison.
The biggest advantage of UHD Blu-ray is the read speed. Capacity is still the same 50GB for dual layered, though it supports up to 100GB. There are a few optical discs that go over a TB. Maybe we're all playing on quartz discs by the time the PS5 comes around, 300+ TB of storage. Just kidding, I meant PS50.
