gamesindustry.biz is reporting the UK Sales charts.

God of War at #1, GTAV NOT in the top 10, Labo Robot Kit gone completely, Variety Kit at 13.

DKC debuted at 2, already done 17% of the Wii U release sales and is already outpacing it comparing first week sales.

So yeah. That happened. Yet another #2.

Now Playing: Mario & Luigi Brothership, Sonic x Shadow Generations

@gcunit, I could have sworn it was proper grammar to never capitalize "the" in a title, even if it's the first word. Have I been wrong all this time?

Maybe it's just a book/library thing? Like, when you look for "the Great Gatsby", you'd ignore the " the" in the title, and look for it under "G" instead of "T".

Currently Playing:
Switch - Blade Strangers
PS4 - Kingdom Hearts III, Tetris Effect (VR)

@YummyHappyPills I am interested to know how well Labo has done sales wise, because Nintendo were banking hard on this being something that would explode in sales and it doesn't seem to have done that.

Give it a week or 2 and GTAV will return to the top 10 and Tropical Freeze leaves the top 10.

@FragRed Why does it seem like everyone thinks Nintendo was banking super hard on this doing well in sales? It recieved little to no advertising (as far as I've seen, I don't think I even got an email from Nintendo about it), the stock orders I've heard so far in the UK were modest, and it wasn't even mentioned in any of their core events, the Nintendo Directs. Everything I've seen suggests this was a side project they were hoping would provide another steady evergreen income stream, not their next big thing.

Were they really? "Banking Hard" seems like a bit of an exaggeration.

@FragRed I personally don't think Nintendo ever thought it would sell more then say a million lifetime. It's a great concept but geared to a certain demographic. Parents are the ones buying these for their kids on birthdays and special events not just as a day one purchase.

@RR529 @TheLobster To follow on, the name of a product, company, person, place etc. is a proper noun and requires capitalisation.

@FragRed I don't think Nintendo was banking hard on it selling gangbusters. It's a toy, not a video game, just a toy that goes along with their video game system. People forget Nintendo is a toy company.

@link3710 I got an email from Nintendo about Labo (two actually), but I have not seen any commercials (outside of their Youtube channel), and you're right, nada out of Directs. We'll have to see what they say at E3. But again, it's a toy, not a video game.

Sorry for the double post. Edit: @YummyHappyPills You saved me from double posting! My hero!

@RR529 South is also written like ''South Park: The Fractured But Whole'', the T is capitalised because it succeeds a colon, and the B is probably capitalised to make the double entendre more visible. And yeah, it's The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.

I'm quite happy to see this, to be honest. Considering that God of War is potentially PS4's biggest exclusive this year, and Nintendo are typically less popular in the UK than other territories, I certainly wouldn't expect DKC to top it. But this is certainly a high-profile release and the game deserves it.

South Park on the UK EShop has fallen to #9 (Doom and gloom follow hereafter)

Better yet.

If I understand this correctly I have to pay $35 for the whole family to play???

IceClimbers

So that'll probably be a bit controversial:

The $20/year pricing is an individual tier, meaning only for one account. You have to buy the Family Plan for $35/year to have it apply to all accounts on the Switch.

There will be 20 NES games at launch with more games "added regularly". So it's a cumulative library it seems! Revealed titles:

  • Mario Bros
  • Super Mario Bros
  • Super Mario Bros 3
  • Legend of Zelda
  • Donkey Kong
  • Tennis
  • Soccer
  • Ice Climber
  • Balloon Fight
  • Dr Mario

Not a lot of information but an update is always good. I hope my Switch won't get stolen till September and then I can finally put my save files i the cloud!
Twenty NES games at lunch is a good amount to start with, especially with Zelda and SMB.
