So it's a Netflix-like deal, eh? And more's gonna be added? Nice. Online play too? Sign me up.
I don't know how I feel about the family option. On one hand, that sounds cool, but on the other hand that seems a bit much.
Edit: Actually, I'm ignorant on other platforms' paid online. This family deal might actually be better than I thought, if the other platforms still require you to pay for each profile separately. Still though, time will tell.
Cloud saves, discounts, online NES games.. seems alright.
I can't be the ONLY one who's disappointed by ONLY NES games so far.. right? Literally any other Nintendo console is better...
So I will definitely have to spring for the family plan. Hopefully SNES games are added down the line. The continued reliance on the smartphone app is disappointing as well. Honestly not really excited from the details shared but at least there is cloud saves.
Would've liked to have seen an OS level party system announced (and/or some kind of DM feature) - and I'm not greatly enthused that they're sticking with the phone app as their voice chat solution...but it's pretty cool to have a selection of 20 NES games right off the bat (with added multiplayer, no less) - and cloud saves are most welcome (particularly as there's currently no alternative)
Overall, I'm happy enough with that - you can have some more of my money, Nintendo! (..or some of my Gold Points if you'll let me use 'em as part-payment! )
@darkfenrir Oh I definitely think they'll add more systems in due time. Probably no GameCube though. Game Boy, Game Boy Color, and SNES games are prime candidates though. N64 and GBA are maybes.
This definitely looks good, for only $20 it's very decent. However, I'm disappointed that it's only NES games as of now. I was really hoping that this service would give me the opportunity to play the best SNES games, like ALttP, Super Metroid, and FF6, on the go. But I'm sure that they'll be added later. It'll just be a disappointing wait.
Mario Galaxy is ten years old, and now I feel old.
@TheLZdragon Yup. Starting on the 15th you can invite friends to a "family group". For that $35 a year it covers the up to 8 accounts, even if they're on different systems.
