Pillars of Eternity 2 is a HUGE win for both Switch and us, the gamers.
3rd party support was slow to start, for sure, but we're finally starting to see the console's success bear fruit.
By the end of this year it's gonna be a completely different landscape. Even if all the games aren't out yet, there should be way, way more games in the pipeline than at the end of 2017.

lol yea pretty much - even before EQ I was hooked on MUDs and Nexus and stuff like that.
Cynically, yes, games as platforms have the penchant to turn into shameless money grabs.
Make no mistake - I do not expect Nintendo to start doing this. Even with Splatoon 2 it's too late for them to go this route as they've already made every update free.
But I'm telling you... whatever this next Smash is, prepare yourself for some major monetization and a projected lifespan quite larger than anything we've seen so far.
@IceClimbers Whoa, that's a shock! Obsidian CRPG? I'm in! Simultaneous multiplat on console of a PC first game? Nice!
I actually have been trying to get into Divinity: Original Sin 1 on PS4 for that good old PC RPG/Baldur's Gate kind of feel....but something about that game just seems....odd....I can't get myself to get into it like it's a very pretty but "by the numbers" checklist of a game without a soul, like Setsuna and Lost Sphere. I have far higher hope for Obsidian (I haven't played the first Pillars. ) I want to like Divinity but I just....can't. I lose interest as soon as combat starts.
@rallydefault Both Kart and Smash 4 were already pretty big monetization schemes. If it's not Smash 4 deluxe and is instead a clear money pit 5, I have half a mind to wait for the inevitable "GOTY" edition as I'm starting to do with many games. I refuse to continue buying $60 games for which the second half of it is sold to me in 8 $15 chunks. Single player games, I don't mind, the extended content usually isn't necessary (or even fully enjoyable) to me with DLC. But these online games that milk you worse than the arcade ever did....I'll stick to the old complete ones and leave the new ones for suckers Why play Battlefield 1 when Battlefield 4 is finally ready to play? (And why is EA as bad at counting as Microsoft? )
I'm sure a lot of you follow in twitter a certain Nintendo-fan lady with good inside info. She's giving hints that a lot of major PS4 ports are on their way on Switch. She can't share specific info but its good news.
As always, could be legit (as he points out in the video a similar leak was dead on) or it might not be (no explanation necessary there). If it is true I think that's a pretty nice spread of games- 6 of them would be new game announcements, and 2 ports/remakes. Of course there's no evidence as to when any of them will release. Considering we know very little to nothing for what's coming beyond E3 2018, they could easily show this many games to cover the rest of the year and into 2019. And it would make sense. Do the ports in the first half of the year and make e3 as exciting as possible.
That all said, the last one is kinda off the rails, maybe just crazy enough to be true? Also a tad disappointing if so? That's just my thoughts. It could be from an established franchise or it could be something new. I question how they would know who the developer is though.

I thought MK8 was reasonable with their 20 bucks for all the DLC deal. Smash for Wii U was a mess, though. I didn't touch it at all. Totally turned me off from it, to be honest. All of these different packs and parsed-out characters and stages and blah blah... the way they set it up and presented it was insane.
@JaxonH That leak originated from 4chan I believe, and from what I remember that leak came from someone who impersonated someone else who did indeed have an accurate leak for the January 2017 hands-on stuff. Can't remember though, so take both the leak and my word with a grain of salt.
That said, none of those choices are really that out there and can be plausible. We know Pikmin 4 was in development at some point, a Mario Maker sequel that adds way more to the base Mario Maker is preferable to a port, and Smash sounds like a no-brainer. Luigi's Mansion and WarioWare fill out those "wtf" titles, I guess.
Metroid, Xenoblade, EarthBound shill
I run a YouTube/Twitch channel for fun. Check me out if you want to!
Please let me know before you send me a FC request, thanks.
@EvilLucario
Does seem like a very safe list. My guess is, true or not, most of those games will have a very good chance of being shown this E3 regardless, and if not this E3 then certainly sometime in the future.
It also seems too early to be getting the stands sent. As he points out in the video there was a legitimate leak of similar nature but it just seems like this is way too early. And as you mentioned it could be somebody piggybacking off of that to pass off fake info.
Either way, I'm excited for e3. Fire Emblem will definitely be shown and given a release date. Anything beyond that is gravy.

@JaxonH If he had said 'games to be shown during their E3 Direct', it would be plausible. But playable on the show floor? All of them? No way.
And how would a playable demo for Animal Crossing work?
Besides all of that, it's definitely a very safe list, and I don't think Nintendo will play it safe. It's nothing like them. The fake lists are often easy to spot, they're filled with sequels, and barely contain any new IPs or spin-offs, etc. This won't be the first fake E3 list, that's for sure.
@Octane
As I said, I do agree it's safe. A little too safe. My biggest suspicion is that it's just way too early to be sending materials.
@Ralizah
Doesn't seem wet dreamy to me. Half of those games are GUARANTEED to show up at some point (probably sooner than later) and the other half are already announced. Smash Brothers is a sure bet. Mario Maker (be it sequel or port) is a sure bet. Animal Crossing is a sure bet. We know we will see a Zelda port- and if I had to put money on it it would be that one. Luigi's Mansion is due a new entry. The last one sold crazy good and it's been quite a few years since. 5 I think.
I really don't see a scenario in which this E3 is not a wet dream for fans. It may or may not be with these particular games, but I don't see this as being any more exciting than any other outcome they might have.

@JaxonH That's true as well. But their line-up is never playable in its entirety on the show floor, so unless they also announce even more games, it's highly unlikely. Plus, why would Bayonetta and Metroid get a demo, when they're not even coming out in 2018? Animal Crossing demo? How? The more I think about it, the less sense it makes.
That list seems very safe, I would've predicted most of those contents to appear at E3 (Pokemon and Retro's game being the main exceptions, don't think Pokemon is going to be properly revealed until early 2019).
@Grumblevolcano You don't think Retro's game will be shown at E3?
Regarding that supposed E3 leak video, yeah that just seems like someone looked at what Nintendo fans are all wanting on the Switch and chucked them together onto a list and put it out for the world to see. It's only just beginning of February, though I am sure Nintendo knows the big games they have planned for E3 I doubt anyone outside the few who need to know in the company would be aware.
