Exactly. It's so easy to take shots at Nintendo because they do crazy stuff like Labo.
Oh! I found a classic Nintendo comment the other day on some random site, forget where I was. Maybe Gamespot or something. It was the usual, "Obviously these 15 million people are ALL parents just buying this baby toy for their kids. ALL of the games on Switch are for little kids." etc. etc.
Brought a smile to my face.
...and such people often (conveniently) forget that 'kiddy' stuff like Skylanders, Little Big Planet, Disney Infinity, Sing Star, LEGO Dimensions, Just Dance (etc. etc. etc. etc. etc.) all come to the ultra-super-duper-hard-pro-core consoles as well!
Guess what, it's 2018 - and in 'the future', KIDS PLAY CONSOLE GAMES TOO! (..and your favourite publisher probably has a product line specifically for that market!)
All Nintendo have done with Labo is inject a fresh new type of creativity in to the genre - they haven't reinvented the wheel - and they're far from the only ones to have a line targeting a younger audience!
@NaviAndMii To be fair, it is a lot easier to take shots at Nintendo because the first party line up is more aimed towards the kids market than those of either Sony and Microsoft, as well as the fact it doesn't get all the mature third party support. So on a Nintendo console, the kiddy image is far more obvious to see than the other two.

That Space Dave is a great little game. Really enjoyed what I played of it there. I can see myself coming back to it again and again. The music and sound effects are fantastic. If you like retro shoot-em-ups then for sure you'll like this one.
With it being made by Choice Provisions, the makers of the Bit Trip series and Runner I knew it would be a good one.
It was someone when the footageof the DS3 DLC was mistakenly labelled as on Switch and someone in the commentswas saying "Look the baby system cant even manage the 30fps and the textures are all muddy".
Then Gamespot corrected their mistake.it was the PS4 version.
Popcorn was enjoyed.
lol that is a beautiful little tale.
The internet needs to die. I don't mean that, but I kind of mean that.
Can we just go back to magazines and regional gatherings? lol
@rallydefault This was a thing even during the magazine years, people were fanboys on the school playgrounds and letters in gaming magazines were equally as nasty towards other platforms, it just wasn't as bad as today because every article on every website has the ability to leave a comment and sites have learned how to create traffic and comment wars via clickbait articles.

I lived a charmed life back in the 80s and 90s, though. I always had Nintendo and some of my closest friends had Sega and later Sony and Microsoft, but there was never any animosity or anything close to it. We all enjoyed playing different stuff on the different consoles. Was kinda the best possible world lol
@rallydefault Being I am in the UK, I don't think I ever knew anyone that owned a Nintendo console aside from a couple with a Game Boy. If you owned a console it was the Master System then the Mega Drive as a general rule. Think the first time I remember people owning a home console from Nintendo was the N64. They used to advertise the Goldeneye package at £99.99 all the time on TV. Good days, still my favourite retro console. So much nostalgia for me and I owned the PS1 while my brother owned the Nintendo 64.

So when is DQ Builders dropping... Feb 9th? Probably gonna have to put DQ and Bayonetta aside, since this MH playthrough will take all of Feb. Even Xenoblade 2 took me 1.5 months and that was 200 hrs, about what I'm expecting here.
Which means it'll probably be Kirby that's next on the list. And I am a Kirby fan ever since Robobot, but I can't say it's one of the absolute top shelf series I am crazy for. Looks like, for the next truly big and exciting game, it's gonna be May with DKC Tropical Freeze. Even though I have already played it it's been several years (4, in fact?) so it'll feel pretty new. But even that game I wouldn't put on my absolute most excited list simply because I have played the game before. Dark Souls Remastered is hype, but I can't say it's on my absolute "to die for" list. Maybe not far behind, because I promised my brother I would play it if it ever came to Switch, but still not super top tier. Just regular top-tier.
So really, it could be a while before the next Zelda BotW/Mario Odyssey/Xenoblade 2/MH World comes along. Probably Fire Emblem 16. And that could be autumn, or later even. I suppose The World Ends With You hits that list for me, since I've never played the game and my brother says it's one of the best JRPG's he's played in his entire life, and he's a hard-core JRPG fan so he's played pretty much everything.
Dragon Quest XI will also be on that list. But I don't wanna get my hopes up in case the Switch version is delayed behind the other versions still for the western release. Oh!!! Oh.. right. Valkyria Chronicles 4. Yes. That one is definitely top of the list.
So, there's Fire Emblem 16, Valkyria Chronicles 4, Dragon Quest XI and The World Ends With You. Obviously Metroid Prime 4 will be on the list, but that game is a ways out yet I imagine. Is there anything else? Anything that's on the level of Zelda/Mario/MH/Fire Emblem/DQ/Valkyria Chronicles/TWEWY? On any system? Oh, there's Ori and the Will of the Wisps. Yup. That one too. But aside from those games I can't really think of any.

@JaxonH There's YS VIII. It's not going to be Odyssey, BOTW tier but XC2 tier is possible.
Personally I'm really looking forward to Mario Tennis Aces . Love a good tennis game. I'm confident they'll right the wrongs of Ultra Smash. My main hope is it has a few online modes with rankings and mini tournaments. If so I'll be playing it for a long time to come.
@OorWullie
I'm really looking forward to Mario Tennis myself. I loved the game on Wii, and have fond memories of playing with my friend before she died every other Saturday at 3am after she'd get done bartending...
So I'm anxious to relive some of that. It needs motion controls though. Needs em.
Still, I gravitate towards the big epic journey type games. RPG's in particular. Y's VIII is high priority too, one of the highest, actually. But it's not on the same level as Xenoblade. I have Y's VII. And while this one looks much improved, and by all right looks to be a phenomenal JRPG in a time when phenomenal JRPG's are hard to come by, I'm not sure I'd consider it in the same ballpark. Moreso along the lines of Tales games, or Star Ocean, which are solid B-class JRPG's. I just don't think it has the epic story, and the truly great JRPG's need that epic story (even Xenoblade X had a better story than most JRPG's). Takahashi and Sakaguchi are pretty much the only A-game left in town. And Sakaguchi has been on a mobile hiatus for years now.
