I think it's time for a true Mario and Sonic platformer crossover now instead of the troll we got from the Olympic Games.
That said, at least I did enjoy the 2012 Olympic games a lot, but I'm pretty sure most people would rather have a Mario and Sonic platformer crossover. Subspace Emissary came a bit close, but not quite.
Metroid, Xenoblade, EarthBound shill
I run a YouTube/Twitch channel for fun. Check me out if you want to!
Please let me know before you send me a FC request, thanks.
I don't think people care if a game has to have compromise. The entire concept of the Switch is built around compromise and people are flocking to it.
What people don't want, I think, is a game that runs poorly or looks unreasonably bad for the hardware it's on. People don't care if games don't look as good on Switch, because there is a certain level of expectation of what a Switch game is going to look like. If the game is substantially subpar from the expectations of what a Switch game should look like, then, yes, people probably aren't going to be too interested. But it would have to be pretty bad. Even Xenoblade, Rocket League and DOOM were on the lower end of what Switch can offer graphically, and people were OK with them.
As I recall, they were having issues getting Steep running at an acceptable frame rate. Maybe it's too graphically demanding, maybe it's just the engine it's running on... who knows. But that game required online, and that was a big cloud hanging over it. They would have to remove the online mandate if they expect that game to do well. They'd have to. You can't reasonably ask people to tether to 4G just to play a game on the go. I mean, I guess an MMO like Final Fantasy XIV would be in a similar situation, but that's understandable because it's an MMO. When people buy a snowboarding game I imagine they want to play it on the go. I know I certainly do.
It's crazy just how packed December is for what we originally thought was just going to be XC2 on the Nintendo games front, there's lots of significant free updates and DLC.
So Pokemon may be developed in Unreal Engine 4. I can confirm this is the Material (Texture) editor in UE4 which is showing the unwrap for the Pikachu model on the monitor.
@DarthNocturnal As I said in the other thread, it means they don't have to spend time making a HD engine for Pokemon, which would take time. Means the game comes sooner.

Check out Crazy Justice. It has reached its crowdfunding goal and is coming next year to all systems with crossplay (except ps4 duh). The developers have also said it will have motion aiming.

Layers of Fear received some really good reviews on the other consoles. There is a couple of lower scoring reviews bringing its Metacritic score down but overall, this seems to be one to look forward to. It's been compared to that P.T demo. This legacy edition is supposed to have reworked the game, perhaps to fix some of the flaws reviewers picked up on.
Legacy of Fear and Outlast 1 & 2 are supposed to be some of the scariest games ever made and all 3 will be out before the end of March. Really looking forward to them all. I've never really played a good horror game since the original Resident Evil,at least one that had me on the edge of my seat. RE 4 is one of my all time favourites but that isn't really a horror game, although that chainsaw guy would make me jump sometimes. Silent Hill Shattered Memories was OK, I really enjoyed it initially but the novelty of the chases wore off fairly quickly and ended up annoying me rather than scaring me. Eternal Darkness was excellent but it was more freaky and creepy than scary. Can't really think of anything else.
@DarthNocturnal I think the PUBG on XB1 situation was just Microsoft forcing the release too early. I have no doubts it would've been delayed to 2018 if most of their 2017 games weren't also delayed to 2018. Seriously, while Halo Wars 2 is a good game Microsoft's 2017 lineup overall has been very bad.
It's like everything is running on UE4. I heard a rumor that Real Life is running on it now.
I heard that too! Frostbite wasn't compatible, apparently - and I'm pretty sure that you'll still run in to the odd person who's still running on BASIC, regardless
Although i play a lot 3DS even still, i'm proud to own Switch. I bought it April and my first game was Mario Kart 8 Deluxe (i have not ever own a wiiu) and i'm a strategy game series fan already: MarioRabbids, Worms W.M.D; and now Tiny Metal. Fire Emblem coming still. I had a feeling that Switch have to be success cause game industry is also a business and wiiu was a total failure. My hands haven't yet get used to Switch after New 3DS. But everything else is great. Keep em coming, afterall consoles are what theirs games are.
@Eagle9
Watch out for Valkyria Chronicles 4, as well. It's the only other strategy series I would even consider being on the same level as Fire Emblem.

@JaxonH
Advance Wars was.
Haven't played others on the series since i own only PS2, other than Nintendo. If direct sequel, then have to think (if to buy) this.
@Eagle9
The third game never even came west. So I can assure you it's not going to be a direct sequel. In fact it's a return to the very first game's approach and setting.
