Layers of Fear received some really good reviews on the other consoles. There is a couple of lower scoring reviews bringing its Metacritic score down but overall, this seems to be one to look forward to. It's been compared to that P.T demo. This legacy edition is supposed to have reworked the game, perhaps to fix some of the flaws reviewers picked up on.
Legacy of Fear and Outlast 1 & 2 are supposed to be some of the scariest games ever made and all 3 will be out before the end of March. Really looking forward to them all. I've never really played a good horror game since the original Resident Evil,at least one that had me on the edge of my seat. RE 4 is one of my all time favourites but that isn't really a horror game, although that chainsaw guy would make me jump sometimes. Silent Hill Shattered Memories was OK, I really enjoyed it initially but the novelty of the chases wore off fairly quickly and ended up annoying me rather than scaring me. Eternal Darkness was excellent but it was more freaky and creepy than scary. Can't really think of anything else.
@DarthNocturnal I think the PUBG on XB1 situation was just Microsoft forcing the release too early. I have no doubts it would've been delayed to 2018 if most of their 2017 games weren't also delayed to 2018. Seriously, while Halo Wars 2 is a good game Microsoft's 2017 lineup overall has been very bad.
It's like everything is running on UE4. I heard a rumor that Real Life is running on it now.
I heard that too! Frostbite wasn't compatible, apparently - and I'm pretty sure that you'll still run in to the odd person who's still running on BASIC, regardless
Although i play a lot 3DS even still, i'm proud to own Switch. I bought it April and my first game was Mario Kart 8 Deluxe (i have not ever own a wiiu) and i'm a strategy game series fan already: MarioRabbids, Worms W.M.D; and now Tiny Metal. Fire Emblem coming still. I had a feeling that Switch have to be success cause game industry is also a business and wiiu was a total failure. My hands haven't yet get used to Switch after New 3DS. But everything else is great. Keep em coming, afterall consoles are what theirs games are.
@Eagle9
Watch out for Valkyria Chronicles 4, as well. It's the only other strategy series I would even consider being on the same level as Fire Emblem.

@JaxonH
Advance Wars was.
Haven't played others on the series since i own only PS2, other than Nintendo. If direct sequel, then have to think (if to buy) this.
@Eagle9
The third game never even came west. So I can assure you it's not going to be a direct sequel. In fact it's a return to the very first game's approach and setting.

A really cool looking game called Furi has appeared in the coming soon section. Described as a mash up of punch out,boss rush, hack n' slash and twin stick bullet hell shoot-em-up with some adventuring in between. It was well received on PS4 but it's meant to be tough as nails.
It releases on the 11th of January and will cost £17.99
@SLIGEACH_EIRE Looks great and could potentially be as brilliant as Rocket League but it's criticised for lacking modes and single player content. From what I've read though they've got the game play part nailed so it can be expanded on. The one issue I see with it is, unless it's a huge hit, it won't be easy to find online matches and it won't have cross play as it's not been released on Xbox. Sony need to get their arrogant finger out their butt and join the party. Cross play works amazingly well in Rocket League.
So any guesses as to what day in January we’ll have a direct? Most people probably agree we’re having one in January and past trends point to it (to an extant).
Any thoughts as to what would be shown there? I’m just kind of hoping they show something ‘exciting’. Things have been pretty uninteresting for me with Switch releases.
Check deposited a couple of hours ago and the very first thing I do is take advantage of Best Buy's weekly ad deal of getting Mario + Rabbids for $30 w/ purchase of an additional Switch game. Was pretty much a no brainer for me as far as deals go. Hadn't bought a retail game since SMO so this was a nice last minute Christmas gift to myself (and indirectly my bro whom I am sure is going to be hogging Splatoon 2 from me).
Current Playlist: Age of Calamity, Stardew Valley, ACNH
@OorWullie Furi is essentially a boss rush bullet hell action game. It's tough indeed. The adventuring part is a bit misleading, because I assume they're referencing to the 30 second walks in-between the boss fights. It's a lot of dodging until find the right moment to hit the boss. It's pretty good.
