@Octane The Joycons/Procon actually have an appreciably higher resolution gyro than the Gamepad did. And the Gamepads was more sensitive than the Wiimots. Actually Gamepad had a magnetic sensor that actually enhanced it greatly, it was ahead of its time, but it wasn't terribly high resolution.
The down side is Splatoon 2 feels "off" due to the higher sensitivity at first if you're used to the Gamepad
@BLP_Software of course DS4 has a gyro because DS3 had an rotation+accelerometer because Sixaxis had an rotation+accellerometer because Wii had a rotation+accelerometer, and later a gyro.... Don't you look forward to the DualShock 5 Squared, where you can actually remove the left and right halves of the Dual Shock controller and use it as two separate controllers for local multiplayer? A true revolution in gaming, proving why Playstation is The Best Place To Play(TM)
Just say power. Dont overcomplicate it. Short and simple and disappointing. Then again I dont think anyone actually wanted the game anyway...
So, we've now had "Cant guarantee its online" even though it has DQ10. "Its bad" from Lorne Lanning for his own dumb decisions earlier that led to poor sales and now "It lacks buttons"?
What buttons does it lack exactly? Other than analogue triggers it's got the full tool set. When you add on motion and touchscreen controls it has more to work with than the others. What an absolute tool!
In my book one extra set of joy con is a priority purchase to enable local 4-player and ARMS 1v1 (does the game support 8 joy con for 4 player motion controlled?)
But in the future I'm really hoping there'll be a new wave of motion controlled sports games to really hammer home the value of the joy con.

From what I had time to read, I saw a lot of people making really good cases for the Pro Controller's premium price, but the fact of the matter is that I only need a few comfortable controllers for my friends to play basic multiplayer on, and there's no mid-tier controller in the market right now for the Switch at a reasonable price, outside of the niche 8bitdo variety, which I believe require a bit of work to make compatible, and don't have handles.
@NEStalgia But on the other hand, it has no analog triggers and touchpad (does the XOne controller have something extra?) either. They all have their own gimmicks. HD Rumble is just very expensive, or Ninty is extra greedy this gen.
X1 Controller, compared to Joycon/Switch Pro, is missing HD Rumble, IR sensor, gyroscope, accelerometer, and rechargeable batteries. The one feature it has over Joycon/Switch Pro, is analog triggers. It's official MSRP is $59.99 ($64.99 for special variants). So... it's tit for tat really. Personally, I think the HD rumble alone is worth the extra five or 10 bucks (or in the case of Joycon, $15-20 but that brings its own additional advantages). That's before even mentioning the gyro or the fact X1 Play and Charge Kits are an extra $25
Also, the vast majority of PS4 games don't use the touchpad for anything other than a button (usually to pull up a map). There were a couple games in its early life span that tried using it and it just didn't work out that well. I don't think a single game has actually been better off for it. That's fine by me, I don't mind it being there, but it's just a 2" button for pretty much every game on the system.
I think a good middle ground option for Switch would be a pro controller with no HD rumble and NFC functionality. I don't know how much that would take off the price but getting rid of other features would cause Wii U like problems (e.g. Can't complete a shrine because it uses gyro and the Wii U pro controller doesn't have gyro).
This is Nintendo Brazil's translation. I'll edit it later when hopefully Nintendo UK put up a video. But you can make out what it's saying, like 60 fps, 1080p, multiplayer with 6 Switch's, motion controls. I think there's a co-op mode.
i heard the game, is an improvement to the first Xenoverse.
i might double dip on a ps4 version and a switch version.

Lol, I would never pay $80 just to switch colors. I mean, it will be cool to switch colors if I do get it, but not $80 cool.
Well it's not bad considering what options you usually get. Look at it this way, if they released a limited edition 3DS 5 years ago you would have had to pay quite a bit more than $80 to buy it. When on the 3DS your shoulder buttons started to wear it cost quite a bit more than $80 to replace it. Is it expensive for just replacing the colours? Sure. But it's still cheaper than it usually is.
Just buying one extra set of joy-cons seems like the sensible thing. Everyone will just have to complain about the controllers. Everyone always does anyway, so it's not like it makes a difference.
I'm fine with just having a Pro Controller as it is right now. If I want to do multiplayer that fourth person will just have to miss out. But yeah, a second JoyCon set makes a lot of sense. It might not be perfect but at least it gives you options and at a pretty low cost. How much did you have to play to get 4 player Smash on the Wii U if you didn't have legacy controllers lying around?

@BLP_Software
One of these days there will be a dev that will complain about the Game Cards max capacity and say it is too small for their games.
It's the only complaint I haven't seen yet.

Thanks to clearance sales, approximately $29 per controller, but even without the clearance, it still would have been a bit cheaper than Switch. Since there's only one variety of Switch and it's crazy in demand, I don't anticipate any sales for the pro controller for a looong time.
