Those numbers would be useful to post for someone who doesn't know about anything about the graphics hardware of the current generation consoles
And that's why I posted them
You say that you understand but then you act as if the only reason games didn't come to the Wii U was because of the user-base. Ignoring entirely the fact that because of the completely different internal hardware ports to the Wii U cost more than ports to PS4/XBOne/PC. That's a higher cost before they even consider sales potential. So it's clear that either you don't understand or you're just to proud to admit you misunderstood.
You've never addressed this point and it's more-or-less the only point we've made. You've just kind of waved your hands around and pretended that it doesn't matter. And remember, you were the one who freaked out when it was suggested that the NX should be (internally) similar to the PS4/XBOne. I for one am more than happy to accept that the NX may not be that console. I'm only saying that it could/would be a smart move for Nintendo.
For the lurkers, here's the tl;dr of this thread thus far:
Person 1: The NX should be similar to the PS4 internally so third parties are more likely to port
Person 1: More games = Bigger library = More attractive system
Person 2: That's stupid, Sony gamers aren't interested in Nintendo
Person 1: Gamers don't fit into neat little boxes like that
Person 2: Yes they do! Nintendo tried this with the Gamecube and look what happened then!
Person 1: The Gamecube was from a different time, it's not the same scenario
Person 2: Exactly! Nobody wants Nintendo games anymore
Person 1: They do though, that's the thing. Nintendo has very strong IP. Also that's not what I meant
Person 2: If they sell why is GTA selling more? Nintendo isn't bigger than all the third parties
Person 1: I never said otherwise. And also, this is why Nintendo needs to attract third parties
Person 2: That's stupid, Nintendo gamers aren't interested in Sony games
Person 1: I'll make it simple. The Wii U is different, it costs more for developers to port games to it
Person 2: It costs more because their games don't sell
Person 1: You're not listening to what I'm saying. The Wii U is different
Person 2: "It costs more because their games don't sell" You keep making my argument for me. Thanks!
Person 1: The Wii U is different, it costs more for developers to port games to it
Person 2: Don't talk to me like an idiot. I already addressed that point
Person 1: You didn't, I was talking about the hardware itself. You haven't addressed that point
Person 2: Don't talk to me like an idiot. I know what hardware these consoles have
Person 1: If you did you wouldn't have made such a big deal about it
Person 2: Don't talk to me like an idiot. I know how to google
@DefHalan
I didn't actually go through and re-read the whole thing if that's what you're asking. But yeah, go back I did summarize all those posts. From memory. Just to highlight the absurdity of it.
It lines up with a few other sources I've found for that sort of info and it's all on one page. So it's good enough. Although I should note that not all FLOPS are created equal. Some processors will have more efficient ways to do some tasks and not others. It also doesn't necessarily scale (2x the power != 2x the framerate). It's just a handy yardstick to measure them by.
@Project_Dolphin "The problem is that many third-party developers want to make the "big bucks" by releasing "mature AAA" video games with "hyper-realistic" graphics instead of finding great uses for the innovative video game hardware Nintendo wants to use."
I don't get why you're calling this a problem, these 3rd parties are pleasing their fanbases so what's wrong with that? If Nintendo was doing that to their fanbase we would be seeing a new F-Zero, a Paper Mario in the style of TTYD, a Metroid in the style of Super Metroid or Metroid Prime, etc.
As a lurker, for what it's worth, in my humble opinion, skywake for the win😜
But seriously, I liked visiting this thread to see what others thought the NX could be. A thanks is in order to project_dolphin and skywake for giving me one less thread to lurk in😉
Cheers guys👍
P.S. Don't get me wrong, it was amusing😊

+1
@skywake@Project_Dolphin You two are dominating this thread to the point that it holds little to no interest for anyone else, and it's not as if the two of you are actually getting anywhere with it by doing so.
Please drop this petty squabble - now - or we'll have to go and look for the keys...
You guys had me at blood and semen.
What better way to celebrate than firing something out of the pipe?
@skywake gets 8 potential profanities from your post
...I think this auto-detect system of ours needs reworking...lol
I am guessing Flop as in "This game is a flop!"
The original post referred to a deity, which was hastily followed by the word that sounds the same as a structure that's erected to contain water (dam), so it was likely that that triggered the filter, but why it went off 8 times, I don't know.

If there's one thing that will hurt third party support, it's the March 2017 release date. This means that all of the third party games at launch will be the Fall/Holiday 2016 titles. So 2-6 month late ports. The only third party title scheduled for Q1 2017 that I can think of is Mass Effect Andromeda. Even that may end up being anywhere from a couple of weeks to a month late.
@Project_Dolphin
I think you intended to respond to @Project_Dolphin there. I didn't say those things. I'm also just going to keep posting these specs until it either sinks into your head what we're talking about or you give up.
Current gen, Wii U all on its own:
XBOne: x86, 1300 GLFOPs
PS4: x86, 1800 GFLOPs
PC: x86, ~800-5000 GFLOPs
Wii U: PPC, 350 GFLOPs
Wii U almost certainly does not have anywhere near 350 GFLOPs. The GPU / GPGPU (codenamed 'Latte' which provides most of the FLOPs Wii U does have, is 176 GFLOPS. The PPC CPU provides only a small fraction more and is nowhere near the performance of Xbox 360 or PS3 CPUs.
Xbox 360
CPU (PPC tri-core 'Xenon') 115 GFLOPS
GPU (ATI 'Xenos') 240 GFLOPs
PS3
CPU (CELL) 218 GFLOPS
GPU (Nvidia RSX) 192 GFLOPS
Wii U
CPU (PPC 'Espresso') 15 GFLOPS
GPU (AMD 'Latte') 176 GFLOPS
Wii U's GPU closes that raw performance gap, to some extent, for the fact that its GPU architecture is more modern, more efficient and has a newer-generation shader model / feature set, compared to the GPUs in 360/PS3.
Still, Wii U was very under powered for a console revealed in 2011 and released in 2012.
Been covered, and I think it's getting sweet a "Nintendo all in one" or a VR headset since it isn't a successor to the Wii U? interesting... the hype just keeps on building more and more with the suspense sorrounding it.
