Anyone else preorder the Wii U version from Amazon? Apparently they're sending out emails saying:

"We're writing about the order you placed on January 16, 2016 (Order# 103-2253418-9137804). The item(s) you ordered is not yet released. We will notify you of a specific delivery date when one is available."

I'm not sure if this is normal for preorders on the site, but this is the first time I've received an email like this from them for a preorder. I must admit that I'm concerned that the Wii U version is turning into the GC version of Twilight Princess, ie absurdly rare.

@nf_2 I'd be surprised if the Wii U version of BotW isn't like the GC version of TP because the more copies of the Wii U version there are, the less likely undecided people are going to pick up the Switch which is bad for Nintendo.

I've got the Wii U version preordered through Amazon.
Received no email. When I go onto my orders list, it just says "Arriving on 3rd March". "Dispatching on 1st March."

So I was wondering what controllers will work on the Wii U version. I have of course the gamepad but I was wondering will a Classic Controller Pro work on Zelda as well or will I have to get a Wii U Pro controller?

Just the gamepad or pro controller. It's up on e-shop if you want to see it's details.

I watched some videos today... oh my goodness.

I wasn't even really that excited for Zelda a year ago. I mean sure I was excited, but no more than for any other big game.

But slowly that's been changing, and today when I watched the new footage that was posted in the last 24-48 hrs from beyond the Great Plateau Demo area... I saw so many awesome, amazing, crazy, and downright comical things... I'm convinced this is Game of the Year, game of the generation, best game Nintendo has ever made, perhaps among best games of all time.

I am just flabbergasted at how awesome this game looks. That initial area does the game NO justice at all compared to what follows. Which speaks volumes given the game, even based on the demo area, looks absolutely amazing. I want to talk about all of a little crazy details and things I saw but I'm restraining myself.

@nf_2
Totally normal.

Amazon regularly sends email updates after a set number of days passes.

Isaiah 53:5 (700 yrs before Christ)

They will look on Me whom they pierced

Considering I've only seen the videos on the Great Plateau, I'm happy to hear how much it diversifies after that

So there's supposed to be a 3 gig mandatory data pack for the Wii U version, right? Does anybody know when they intend to release that? It doesn't look like preloading is even available yet. I have really terrible internet so I hope we can download it soon.

@EOTW I think it is assets off of the disc, so shouldn't be an issue. I could be wrong, but that's what I've been reading other places.

@EOTW
Given that the full game is only 15GB, it's probably on the disc too. The installation I assume is more to do with the fact that it's quicker to load off the hard drive than off a disc, as opposed to being about adding extra stuff that couldn't fit on disc.
I'm guessing they just take all of the most commonly used textures and sound effects (the 2 things that take up the most memory) and stick those on the hard drive. Then the more rarely used assets, like the villages and building interiors, dungeons etc, stay on the disc, as they have more time to load that stuff anyway.

I can't wait. I've seen little videos with some spoilers here and there (and some videos I didn't want to see), but the game looks wonderful.
It is incredible that after teasing with this game for what, 5 years? We're in launch week. We're almost there, guys!

I have a chronic lack of time, for everything.

Now playing: Okami HD, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe.

The Dutch GamePro gave Zelda a 94/100. Only game to score more was GTA 4 with 95/100

Ok then

Huh for some reason Amazon Mexico de-listed the wiiu version of the game I preordered (my preorder is still up and safe, but the original listing doesn't exist anymore).

It seems there's a new, separate listing for it, but even that is unavailable. Weird.

Is it being sold by Amazon? I see this sometimes when the third parties sellers list things.
