"I'm hoping for NPC's with their own little stories and Majora's Mask like side-quests!"
Me too!
I also wonder how the Gorons and Zora's will look. I was a bit dissapointed that the Koroks look EXACTLY the same. Always looking forward to new designs!
Lol, your idea about the updraft sounds cool! I am also wondering: So you can travel on foot, horseback, shield-surfing, paraglider, climbing stuff, swimming, boat-travel. Maybe you can also dive (the return of the Zora-tunic from Twilight princess). And yeah, maybe flying through the air. Getting a good view that way! Wouldn't it be cool if the blue bear with wings from Ooa/Oos would return? Of course they should make him a better flyer this time!
So if this game is borrowing heavily from Western RPGs ( I still hate that people claim it so but whatever) Then how can this game add anything unique to the genre? From the looks of it, it doesn't seem to do anything new to the table besides changing the traditional formula.
Then this will be known as the first game that Nintendo never did anything original but slapped in ideas heavily from existing games........
@Socar Soooo...Nintendo finally gets with the times then! HAHAHA Seriously though, it looks like one of the most finely crafted games I have ever seen. When I say craft I don't mean tech specs, I mean skill in using what they got. There seems to be a generation of gamer that depressingly doesn't differentiate the two.
I never drive faster than I can see. Besides, it's all in the reflexes.
@GrailUK So copying existing games is what you want them to do to get with the times? wow. That just shows some sense of stupidity don't you think?
Claiming that they rehash the same Mario games over and over and now all of a sudden rehashing a game by copying other games is the better idea?
That's not getting into times. That's simply encouraging Nintendo to not do anything fresh to the industry and just do what mobile devs do, copy and past games that aren't new.
@Socar Sorry, my bad. I thought you would be able to guess I wasn't being serious there and you could read it as commentary towards most other developers. Sorry for giving you too much credit. I kinda feel awkward now...
@Socar I'm sure that means the end of time for Nintendo then...
I get the feeling that you guys aren't taking this whole "western" seriously because of it being a Zelda game.
Nintendo is known to do something original, if not, to atleast take things in a different approach and to take lots of risks. It is because of that they are able to maintain not only their image but also to maintain their valuable IP.
To now see Botw copying elements of western rpgs and not doing anything new to that genre is now making me wonder whether this method is encouraging Nintendo to not needing any original/unique concepts but simply copy ideas from third parties inorder to make profits from this forth.
If that is so, then this is bad for Nintendo because that would mean a sign that they are running out of ideas and I know the late Iwata-San stated this not being true but it seems to be so.
Heck, even Link Between worlds is more unique than Botw.
@Socar I'm sure that means the end of time for Nintendo then...

We aren't taking this seriously because, when you're not being vaguely insulting, everything you say is trite enough to fill out the plot of a TellTale game.
That might not be the case if you'd stop being so reactionary and talking about things you don't know enough about.
And, Morpheel, I'm really not trying to incite 'beef' here. I just figured this ought to be said.
@Tsurii And just exactly how is this a non issue? It just is a copy of western RPGs and it doesn't do anything new to the genre. How is that a non issues if this game will motivate Nintendo that no one cares about innovation, what then?
