@vulpes That's a good point! Since there are Koroks can we assume there will be Rito instead of Zora? Maybe they run the big floating mass that can be seen in the demo!
Actually, at least one zora existed during the wind waker.
Ganondorf killed Laruto only recently, so she was a true zora living at the same time as the Ritos.
So maybe there are other Zoras. I mean just because Hyrule flooded, it doesn't mean the Zoras living on the other side of the world also changed, right?
Regardless I'd still like to see the Rito again. They were a neat race and we only ever saw them in one game. We've seen several iterations of Zora's Domain so that kind of bores me. I'd like to see what they could come up with for a Rito city.
@Meowpheel Good point; No reason to rule out the Zora in a post-WW game then.
@EOTW I'd like to see one good iteration of the Zora first. There's so much more potential. I just like the original OOT characters; the Hylian, Goron, Zora and Kokiri that were clearly based on the work of Tolkien. I think the Zora work better in a more realistic game than the Rito; but I would've said the same about the Korok, so I don't really know anymore. Still like the Korok better than the Kokiri, so I'm not complaining.
Guardians in the sand? When did we see that? I would give Breath of the Wild major points if, when a guardian walks into the desert, it just sinks into the sand, its tendrils unable to prop it up. The guardian would basically turn into one of the stationary ruined guardians like we saw in the E3 demo. And incorporate that into the story? Like that's how the pre-war Gerudo civilization survived? Yes please.
Sometimes fan ideas are so good that you just know they won't be in the actual game. :I
Luring Guardians (and other hard enemies) into terrain that makes the fight more manageable would be an awesome game mechanic, especially since the enemies appear in the open.
Speaking of towns: I don't think there will be many towns and/or people. From the looks of it this is a post-apocalyptic world where nature has taken over. And what will the purpose be of the towns? I expect some mini-games/side-quests, maybe some smithy (to upgrade your weapons so they won't break. Come on, it must be possible!). But as I said I don't expect massive towns.
I'm hoping for NPC's with their own little stories and Majora's Mask like side-quests! Not necessarily timed like MM, but involving multiple characters and dealing with relationships, mundane and fantastical problems.
Also, side-activities besides exploring and combat would be very welcome! And like you said, shops and smithies would be a no-brainer.
I want something interesting to find during exploration, besides nice scenery and cool equipment. Settlements and some such would do the trick nicely!
I don't know too much about this game but from what I know of it so far, I'm not really that interested in the game even though it at the same time makes me very curious about it. I'm not a fan of the hunting animals concept, plus that I'd really hoped for them to focus on the story as they allways do in Loz. I also really hope that Princess Zelda and Ganondorf will be in the game too.
I remember seeing that pic, but I could never really spot Ganon in there. I hope he will come as Ganondorf as well. Now, I really do hope Princess Zelda will be in the game.

Yeah. And the hunting aspect is made extra lackluster due to them oversteering the animations to look goofy so as to suit the E rating. They're not getting away with any Ocarina of Time blood sputs these days :/

I wonder how shooting down poor innocent animals can get away with an E rating?...
Also, I miss the good'ol days when Nintendo dared to go dark with blood and stuff like they did in Ocarina of Time.
On the Koroks, do we even know what became of the Kokiri in the Fallen Hero timeline? The Zoras and Gorons still existed as far in as ALBW, but I don't think the Kokiri are accounted for even that far in, let alone post-Zelda II. It's quite possible that the Kokiri evolved into the Koroks anyways. The events of LoZ and Zelda II provide plenty of reason for that to be the case (the Deku tree doing so to protect them from Ganon and his minions, considering that the Kokiris becoming the Koroks seemed more like a transformation thing than actual evolution).
