Even if it's supposed to be OOT's castle town, that doesn't mean everything should be an exact match. They will probably place some hints and easter eggs here and there, but I doubt it'll be a full recreation of OOT Hyrule Castle Town in ruins. Temple of Time looks a lot like the OOT version, but that doesn't say a lot either.
Not for nothing, the Temple of Time has a big, fat Goddess statue where the Sacred Stones used to go. I guess stones, pedestals, and paradoxes went out of fashion in Hylian sage circles.
We didn't actually see ANY settlements of any kind so far did we? I really hope they don't make it just the wilderness and then 1 town like in Xenoblade X (although granted that was a huge town).
Playing a game like Skyrim, so much of the fun of exploration was just happening upon a new town in the middle of nowhere. Because I largely just ignored the story in that game, I actually happened upon 2 of the main cities completely randomly through exploration. I remember finding Solitude before I knew it existed. That was a great moment of open world exploration doing something that other games can't.
@Dezzy Yup, @Tsurii is right; Aonuma said that they didn't want to show any characters or towns to prevent any kind of spoilers. I'm not sure if the Great Plateau itself will hold any towns, but that was just 2%(?) of the entire game; there's going to be towns and villages spread across the rest of Hyrule.
If I remember correctly, I heard one of the treehouse members say that the plateau is kind of a special place within Hyrule itself and is very bare for a reason.
I think that's gonna be a Moblin...maybe. He fits the huge troll-like brute with a club trope the moblins usually fill.
Could be. The head certainly looks similar to the bokoblins', plus a really long pig snout. With the length of the snout and horn, though, it seems like of a more lizard / dragon-like design, so it might be some type buffer type of lizalfos.
@Dezzy I was worried about that exact same thing and apparently they removed settlements/villages and NPCs besides the Old Man from the demo on purpose to prevent people from running into story spoilers.
That isn't particularly calming though because it seems to suggest that the settlements are only there as part of the story.
I'm saying I like an open world to incorporate the towns and cities into that exploration aspect. So it really matters to me how many towns there are, how big they are and how they're distributed about the world. This was a massive flaw in Xenoblade X for me, a game that I otherwise find to be superb. The civilization VS wilderness ratio is too small.
