I think you should rephrase your entire comment, because you're still not making sense. Who cares that they copied some ''western'' RPG elements? You're the only one. If that means this game will be the best of both worlds, then that's a good thing.

Also, spoilers, but the Zelda cycle doesn't exist.

Wrong, its a bad thing if its good from here on because I can predict that Nintendo will have a creative block after this game and it will make the Zelda series dormant from here on like how F-Zero GX was the ultimate F-Zero game and that series has remained dormant ever since because Nintendo has a creative block over that series.

Why? Because they looked at western games and decided to do a slice of that in this one and that's not good because not only are they restricting their freedom in doing something original but the fact that if this is the best of the series, how can it move on from here then?

It was easy to do in previous installments because they only needed to tweak some things here and there. Here, nothing needs to be tweaked for the next game after this because this will be the new road that Zelda will take. So it will either be if it ain't broke don't fix situation or that it remains dormant.

And overall its bad for Nintendo if they move over from originality to copying because not only does it ruin their image but also gives them no reason to make games in the first place.

Oh, boy! Where to start?

So yes, Zelda is doomed, because this Zelda is good and that means that they'll put the franchise on the back burner, gotcha. Of course that's because they're using elements from western RPGs instead of elements from other genres, which means that they're restricting their freedom... I think it's even a law that when you use western RPG elements, you cannot be creative, so I think you're actually on to something!

So all they had to do previously is tweak the game a little and there's you're new Zelda game, okay. But now that it's an open-world game; there's nothing to tweak anymore or what? Therefore Zelda becomes dormant..?

I'm not even joking, but I have absolutely no idea what you're trying to say...

TLDR; Nintendo are lazy thieves and they're doomed!!!

@Octane Yeah exactly. I don't see how an open world game can be tweaked a lot. Infact, I can't even look at the worst games that are based on open worlds out there so the only way to make new Zelda games from this point on is like I said earlier, if it ain't broke, don't fix it or that it remains dormant.

Point is, Nintendo can't go back into linear Zelda games like the old ones because this one will sell better than the others. People criticized Metroid Fusion to be linear when the previous games were non-linear.

You may say that its safe because Metroid isn't as big as Zelda but doing that in Zelda will be extremely risky move. So yeah, if open world games are the future of gaming, then Zelda is going to end up like that because these games don't have much of tweaking to do.

Just tell me, how can the next Xenoblade make a big change compared to its predecessors when there's nothing that needs to be tweaked in its current game as of now?

That's quite a pull. In fairness, I always argue for less strict definitions

@Socar Zelda is one of the better selling Nintendo franchises, it's one of the last things that will become a dormant franchise. I think you worry too much about nothing.

Octane

Socar

@Octane So what if its the best. It'll just end up being rehashes from here on because there's not much to tweak in open world games.

Again, explain to me how a series like Xenoblade can improve from its predecessors when there's barely anything to learn mistakes from them in the first place.

So, what do y'all think the Zelda theme will sound like when we hear it? I'm hardly music-lingual, but I'm pretty sure that the trailer song was Breath's main theme, not the series theme.

@Haru17 Not sure when a song's the main theme, but I imagine this song being played during the title screen. Big field of grass, ''Press + to start'', and this theme.

As though Nintendo has to give a reason why Link is a male, right handed, has pointy ears, two earrings.... So sick of the controversy...

So, we know you can confront the final boss from the game's outset, but maybe how you beat it (or the effect of doing so) will change depending on what you do/get before doing so.

Like multiple endings, as an example (let's say, beating it with anything other than the Master Sword would only result in Ganon being sealed away, while using the Master Sword would kill him).

Currently Playing:
Switch - Blade Strangers
PS4 - Kingdom Hearts III, Tetris Effect (VR)

Must we go directly from the frying pan into the fire? I'll drown this page in art compilations and gameplay breakdowns if I have to. I'll do it!!

@Haru17 Watched two reviews for Xenoblade chronicles X and there wasn't that many issues to find.

Watched one in GameXplain: issues are minor.

Watched one in IGN: issues are minor.

What's your point here?

All the Zelda games this gen have been rehashes, 4 remakes and the only new entry into the main series relied on it being LTTP 2.

@jump I am implying that seeing as how open world games can't seem to have lots of problems to fix, Zelda will just have nothing new to offer from this point on and it will just end up being a copy paste.

That's what i meant by rehash not making ports which is a different matter all together.

Is anyone else wowed by how natural and intuitive the game's mechanics feel? If you think something would make sense in the real world, you can do it in the Zelda world. Climb a boulder? Sure. Kill a bird and cook it? Yep. Chop a tree for firewood? Go ahead.

Currently Playing: Steamworld Heist, The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask, Tales of Graces F

@iKhan
You're not alone. It feels intuitive for the gameplay, and at least it seems that making a fire to cook food isn't really hard.
It also amazes me how the game looks like a portrait. It looks lovely and fluid.
