Dammit. And I was foolish enough to take Nintendo at face value and actually believe they were going to release at this year. With Zelda U off the list, interesting Ninty games are released way too seldom this year to my liking.
The delay is at least somewhat understandable — not so with lack of presence at E3. Yes, I'm sure the +100 person team is too busy capturing and editing a short trailer during this three month period. Wish they'd tell the real reason for the omission; methinks they're trying out all the ideas Aonuma talked about, are unsure of what will stick and therefore don't want to end up with situation "Twilight Princess" where bunch of stuff didn't make it in the final product, disappointing fans.
Currently on the plate:
Mount and Blade: Warband – Napoleonic Wars
Chivalry
Super Mario 3D World – Finishing the last few levels.
Mario Kart 8

People always bring that up. Are people really that upset with cut beta content or is everyone just not digging that game's vibe and fixating on that cut content as a scapegoat? A few unfinished assets wouldn't have made that game any better or worse.
I think two whole dungeons being scrapped from Wind Waker is a bigger heartbreak.
Yeah, I can understand that. But people talk like Nintendo is hiding those dungeons on a flash drive somewhere when, in reality, they were never created to begin with due to time constraints.
It bears repeating that before every single element of a video game is created that game is nothing but a white plane with nothing for miles. Like that scene from the Matrix. It takes a lot of hard work to create any part of a game. Especially to make a Zelda game. Especially to make a Zelda dungeon. That's why everyone enjoys them so much, because hard work begets quality.
Yeah, if those dungeons were finished, or at least pretty far into development, there would be no reason at all to not put them in WWHD. It's pretty obvious that they never made it past planning stages.
On that note, it would have been cool to include some sketches of floor plans or something in the Hyrule Historia.
So Anakin kneels before Monster Mash and pledges his loyalty to the graveyard smash.

I agree, it definitely felt awkward getting Nayru's pearl by pretty much doing nothing but also the Triforce quest was a drag (I guess the 2 dungeons would've been after the Forbidden Woods and Wind Temple respectively?)

On the other hand, the way they solved it was pretty clever as well. At least it wasn't the predictable ''go to the third dungeon and get Nayru's Pearl''. I mean that was what I expected the first time I played the game, and I was pretty cool to see them throw a curveball and reveal that Greatfish Isle was instead just ruins of what was once an inhabited island.

I enjoyed the 'storm' segment of the game. It was a bit too light on either story, gameplay, or both to be good, though.
Maybe they make Yoshi's Wooly World their big Christmas game?
While it may not make nearly as big of a buzz amongst the core fanbase as Zelda or Xenoblade would, it's still something most of them would at least be interested in, and it would have way more appeal to the rest of the potential market than Xenoblade, and probably even Star Fox, as it's Mario related. Mario Maker may fit here as well.
That's the problem with Zelda U being delayed. Zelda U had the biggest reach. Yoshi WW and Kirby are just seen as Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker games. Just another cute game by Nintendo. Xenoblade is so incredibly niche. Wii U doesn't have PS4's skill to market niche games. PS4's Bloodborne is very niche but is selling well. Starfox U needs to be a huge game to even be considered as a holiday game. Devil's 3rd is Bayonetta 2 all over again. Mario Maker doesn't have much reach either unless Mega Man and Sonic appear.
Lana is so bland it's not even funny. Cia was ok as a villain.
Of course I disagree (see my avatar) but out of interest did you play the Master Quest DLC's story missions ("Cia's Tale"). To me that largely improves Cia's character.
It's possible that StarFox could turn out to be a bigger game than we thought, but I doubt it. How long has it been in development? A year? Less than a year? Had they even started working on the game last E3, or was that blurry game Miyamoto was playing just a tech demo using upscaled StarFox 64 stuff?

I started them yes. Cia is definitely developing there. Lana on the other hand could disappear and it would only improve the game
Even though my favorite chapter involved Ganondorf taking the Triforce from her through sheer brute force. I just don't like her at all
